Home Sweet… I 41C

It was time for the boys to be auctioned. Christopher turned to Peggy with his sly smile as he handed her his paddle. “I’ll be looking at you.” Peggy’s heart skipped a terrified beat. Was it the way his eyes captured hers or the joke she suddenly can’t tell if it’s a joke that’s doing this to her?

Bradley yanked Christopher by the back of his shirt “Stop.” As Christopher was being dragged away, his eyes were on Peggy and Peggy not sure why she was still looking at him.

The first boy was called and the bidding began, beside Peggy, Jenny’s anxious anticipation had kicked in. Their attention was split between her and watching the boys who came on stage smile and twirl for the cheers and claps that interrupted the bidding. And then the dreaded crush was called up. “He’s next.” Jenny looked ready to run. “Oh my god! He’s next.”

Peggy had her hand on Jenny’s shoulder, trying to calm her down by patting her gently. “You got this Jenny.” Aida encouraged.
