In Loving… II 44A

An hour later, they were standing beside the hired cab, waiting outside Viola’s apartment building, parked and standing in between two of the many streetlights up and down the sides of the road. Sawyer laughing hard at the stories Tyson so very gladly told. Streetlights illuminating the dark night and their faces and the faces of those who came out of the building. They weren’t many.

When she came out, “Seriously Vi, way to take your time.”

“Shut up, it hasn’t been more than five minutes since you called. Could you not sit in the car for five minutes?”

“A proper bodyguard will not.” Sawyer dramatized shock and disbelief.

She eyed him and couldn’t help bursting into laughter. “I see you’re still an idiot.”

Tyson chuckled at them both, shaking his head. “I said that this morning.”

“So what were you guys taking about?” She asked as she got in the car. “No Ty. You got to sit with Es this morning, it’s my turn.”

“There’s literally enough space for three of us.”
