How did he really not know? Six years. Four years of him hearing those words at most three times a week and he never asked. All he had to do was ask. His eyes were down. He was scolding himself for being nothing like his observant little brother. She laughed and he looked at her. “What?”

“You’re wondering how and why you never knew.” She revealed.

“And more actually.” He just realized. “I’m wondering how you could be so- you never showed it. All this time. Your hugs meant something, being beside me meant something, pretending to be my girlfriend meant something, playing vampire queen and hunter meant something to you and you never showed it. You laughed like it was nothing and went along like-“

“I wasn’t dreaming and wishing it were real and more.” She completed. The last two weren’t so accurate but still. She had wondered in those moments.
