She was still walking like she was being chased when her phone started to buzz in her bag. She looked back, not sure why she thought he would follow her but glad he wasn’t, then dug into her bag for her phone and nearly yelped in fear when she brought it out and saw who was calling. Did he know? “Hi dad.” She answered, trying to keep calm, reminding herself it’s not possible since he’s so very far away. Her heart was yet to receive the message. It pounded away. From the kiss, from him, from both? Probably both.

“Peggy, have you apologized to your mom?”
