Choice Made…. II 63B

“Go round one more time.” Sawyer asked the cab driver for the sixth time. Five times they had driven up to the house gate and five times Sawyer told him to drive past it. The man didn’t say anything because well… money. But Sawyer’s problem was different. From the moment the plane landed his heart kept trying to leap out of his mouth or drop into his stomach. And when he got to the gate the first time, his mouth ran dry and his breathing shallowed.

He can’t keep going round, he needs to get down and yet he can’t. His body won’t let him and his mouth won’t tell the driver to stop the car. Hell, his hand wouldn’t open the car door. Maybe he should have waited for Noelle. He should just go back to the airport and stay there until tomorrow evening when her flight arrives. Or maybe find a hotel and just wait. If he’d waited, if he waits will it feel this way? Shouldn’t he be at home alone first?
