It made her feel like they are with them, it made her feel warm and happy and complete. Peggy told her everything and that’s what Sawyer is doing now and Steph indulged her and that’s what he’s doing, helping her unpack and stopping halfway to tell her this ridiculous story that she’s split between listening to and thinking of them. She got a sudden urge to hug him, but not him, them. But very quickly, the wholeness she felt caved in, the brightness she got from him dulled.
There’s no point saying if only when it won’t change anything. Nothing will ever be the same again and it will never be enough to see them in the brothers. She forced a laugh. “Are you serious?” Not even sure what she’s asking that in regards to. She shook her head. “Wait, start again, who went where?”
