Ellen stared at him for one long moment, so long that Lu Yizhou felt the oxygen around him thinned and he could not properly breathe. He had been prepared for the worst, but the thought that Ellen would be caught in the crossfire tomorrow filled him with an unprecedented sense of anxiety and fear. Lu Yizhou did not fear death, nor would he shy away from pain.
…He was only scared that this man, whom he cherished more than his own life, would get hurt.
Ellen's lips moved. "If I say no… will you believe me?"
That answer was so unexpected that Lu Yizhou could not react for a moment. "You're not…?"
Ellen shrugged with a self-deprecating smile on his face. "I did not enter this world as a player, how can I possibly get a role? In your eyes, I might be considered an NPC."
