Not today

The two girls were preparing dinner when Edward materialised in the kitchen.

" Hmm..." Edward sniffed the sweet aroma which lingered in the air. Sam jumped when she heard the unexpected husky voice.

She kicked the glass of water which was on the kitchen counter accidentally and it dropped on the tiled floor and broke into tiny pieces.

" Oh my goodness!" She exhaled deeply, placing her hand on her chest as if doing so would stop her heart from pounding wildly.

" You freaked the hell out of us. You witch." Diana heaved a sigh of relief as he rolled her eyes.

The corner of Edward's lips curved into a mischievous smile as he arched his eyebrows in amusement.

" That's not funny, asshole," Sam said through gritted teeth as she glared at the pieces of glass which were scattered on the floor and shined under the bright light from the chandelier.

" So that's how you're going to welcome me after being away from you guys?" The witch said teasingly.
