New Beginnings

It's been four years since my dad and Suzy died and a shit load of stuff has changed in my life since then.

Darrell broke up with me since our dynamic changed and I was different, what did he expect, I lost my family, everyone I had. The baby, my grief, it was all too much for him, especially since I didn't give him much attention, and he couldn't take it any longer.

I sold my company and moved to a city in another state. My current networth was eleven figures so I didn't exactly have to work at the moment, though I bought a cafe. I needed to find myself, to figure out who I was, who I had become.

Jake was five now and I registered him in the best school in the city, as I should. That was where we where heading now, it's his first day in elementary school.

The boy is so excited, he's practically jumping up and down. We finally arrive and the minute I park, he readies himself to burst out of the car which makes me laugh.

"Let's go Jake" I say and I walk him to the door.

"It's time huh, you're a big boy now" I say crouching.

"Bye Aunt Mari" He says with a kiss on my cheek and enters the building.

Drop Jake off at school, check. Next order of business, head to the cafe.

This is more of a I've got something to do and I won't be laying at home thing rather than I bought a business! Yep, I bought a cafe. Running a company's monotonous and all that these days, plus I've already got a lot of money which I don't even know what to do about yet, I don't really need loads more.

Plus it wasn't a family business so I didn't feel much when I sold it. My dad gave me the money to buy the business when I decided to have a business, so I didn't really feel much selling it.

The family business though, I put someone trustworthy in place as CEO and will be checking on it regularly.

Right now, I'll sit at a cafe cross my legs over my table and enjoy myself. When I bought it, I decided not to fire the employees, I put them on probation instead. As for the manager, the former owner acted as the manager so I just hired someone.

Since he's new to the employees, he won't look at them with rose coloured glasses and would be objective when it comes to them and straightforward in their performance reports.

I enter the cafe and head for my office straight away, ignoring the surprised expressions on the employees faces.

Why are they surprised? Well, I haven't technically met with them, I probably should. Meh, I'll do that later.

Entering my office, I cross my legs on my table and sleep. Yep, I sleep. I didn't skip sleep at home, but more sleep is appreciated.

I'm woken up from my sleep because of loud noises I'm hearing from the cafe, what's the damn manager doing.

I get out of my office, angry, ready to give whoever was causing the racket a stern talking to.

I get to the cafe and is shocked to see an employee fighting with a customer and the manager trying to separate them both while issuing warnings to the employee, who doesn't seem phased about them. I watch them for about a minute and when it doesn't stop, I decide to interfere.

"Mr. Wilson, that employee fighting with the customer is fired, you can stop whatever it is you're trying to do. He was warned and wasn't phased about it, file the paperwork or whatever it is that should be done" I say and the manager immediately says 'yes ma'am' and heads into his office.

'We don't encourage fighting and it would be best if you both leave my cafe now" I say to the men fighting.

"And if we don't? What would you do" The customer taunts.

Just as I'm about to reply, a masculine scent fills my nose and butterflies fill my belly with just his sent and a man replies in my stead.

"You'll answer to me, if you don't" The man says.

His voice sends electric shocks through me as I'm mesmerized by it.

That seems to do the work as the customer and the former employee scramble out.

"I need to talk with you" The man says and I usher him into my office.

He just helped me so if he wants to talk with me, the least I can do is let him do so.

"You're my mate" The man says the moment I close my door.

"Excuse me, I don't know what you mean" I reply confused.

"I'm a werewolf and we wolves have soulmates, people we are destined to be with, and you're the one for me. I can feel it and my wolf is telling me so too" He replied.

The moment he said he was a wolf, I wanted to send him out but I couldn't, something stopped me.

"I'm at loss for words" I replied after quite a while.

"It's much to take in, I guess. By the way, I'm Coby, Coby Reynolds" He says.

"I'm Marianna Banks but people call me Mari, I guess you can call me that too" I say.

"Marianna, Mari, it's a sweet name" He says and I instantly blush.

"You called me your mate and since I'm the one you're destined to be with what happens next" I say.

"We get to know each other, I can't force you to love me, even though I'm beginning to love you from your voice, your scent, the way you've interacted with me" He says.

I could have said he was lying or something but my gut told me he wasn't, that he was telling the truth so I threw caution to the wind and decided to go with the flow.
