Chapter 9

"So I guess that's the end of the current Sinister Six for now at least." The officer said as he gave a once over at what was written on the clipboard. He had been giving me a summary about what had happened with the Sinister Six up until I fought them a few days ago. From what they could gather, the group has been having disagreements with one another for one reason or the other. It was mainly just standard things amongst gangs, some wanted a bigger cut than the others. Some wanted to go after bigger marks. Some wanted to focus more on Spiderman who was the reason why the team was founded in the first place. Some just didn't like one another etc...

Whatever the case, things had been spiralling downwards for their group for a long time including but not limited to a very public incident where they had exchanged blows. In short, it wasn't a surprise that they had splintered.

Not that that gave us leads about what exactly happened that day. Not even the rest of the Six knew who their target was. That was all the cops managed to get out of them before being completely sidelined by the FBI.

"All right so what do you need me for?" I asked and Officer Davidson replied.

"There are still a couple of places of interest we have been unable to check due to bureaucratic nonsense. We are waiting for warrants for those places save for one. The Davison and Regis Scrapyard. It is suspected to be a front for Rhino's chop shop business back in the day and had been later reported as a potential hideout of the Sinister 6 once they were formed. It is quite a large property and has many potential spots where someone can ambush my men. This is where you come in. I want there on standby in case they run into trouble."

I nodded along and agreed with his plan. Normally, heroes would have just broken into the property but I have heard several such instances which resulted in the evidence recovered from the sites becoming void citing that the aforementioned 'hero' may have planted or altered the evidence himself. Hence why I decided to let this happen by the books. Most of the villains had already been captured and my intervention would only serve as an excuse to give them lighter sentences unless it's under justifiable reasons.

Several police officers surrounded the Scrapyard before a 5 man SWAT team entered it. I flew nearby while cloaked, seeking out any surprises that may be waiting for them.

So far things were going great. No explosives, no mooks. The entire place was quiet. Too quiet. I went ahead towards the main building, as I refuse to believe they wouldn't leave a surprise for anyone who entered this place. Most of them were too sadistic not to do it.

And sure enough, I found two devices which according to the Overseer had a lot of explosive material. It was also connected with Napalm canisters around the building, most likely to burn down the entire place along with the evidence.

I informed the Swat Team about the bomb and with the help of the Overseer, I managed to disarm the bomb. After securing the bomb and the napalm canisters into the custody of the bomb squad, the cops began turning the scrapyard upside down while I headed back home since I have done all I can.

I flew for a good while before I attempted to cloak myself and that was when 'they' attacked. Something collided with me head-on, causing me to lose control of my flight and cancel my cloak.

I looked at the culprit and was shocked to find the vulture grinning at me while donning a different suit. His new suit was matte black which a few green engraving and he wore a visor with red eye holes.

"You weren't supposed to do that girlie. We were hoping for some fireworks tonight," he said with a sneer before beginning to circle me. I shot several bolts of energy at him which he dodged expertly. And then suddenly, several of the metallic feathers on his suit was shot at me at incredible speeds. So much so that I was barely able to put up the barrier in front of me. But to my surprise, the projectiles pierced halfway through the barrier stopping a few inches away from my face. I then saw the edges of the projectiles which had a highly concentrated laser running across them which answered any questions I had regarding how they managed to breach the force field. I took off into the air and both me and the vulture initiated a dogfight.

Both of us exchanged fire with me shooting my energy projectiles and him shooting wing segments. The said segments also seemed to magnetically return into his suit giving him an inexhaustible amount of ammunition. That was until I started to target the projectiles. I would charge up an attack and wait for the vulture to shoot his projectiles and then I shot them out of the air.

The vulture eventually figured out why parts of his wings have started to go missing and stopped firing at me. Instead, he flew into a cluster of high-rise buildings to evade pursuit. But I was determined to find out where he got his new gear. Yet even then, I somehow managed to lose him in the maze of buildings. I even used the ring to conjure a radar to try and find him but found nothing. It was as if he disappeared into thin air.

I was about to leave when the Overseer alerted of movement above me. I dodged in time to see the vulture diving with his wings outstretched, the edges were glowing with energy. After his failed attack, I was about to counter-attack when I saw the vulture hit the side of a building. Apparently, he had dived too fast and as such was unable to turn in time to prevent the collision.

The vulture then began falling in a circular motion before landing on the roof of a building. I quickly flew after him but found that he was relatively unharmed. And so I began my questioning.

"Where did you get that armour Toomes? I know you aren't smart enough to make it on your own."

I asked.

Toomes grunted in anger before he spoke."Why? You want one too?" he said

"Nah. Black isn't my colour. Now answer the question. "

"What can I say, perks of joining the Masters of Evil? Speaking of which, how long do you plan on making me wait? " He suddenly spoke to someone behind me.

I turned around to see a metal scorpion sting approaching my way which I blocked with a quick barrier. Yet despite blocking the attack, I was still thrown off balance. And then I heard someone rapidly run up towards the vulture. I got up to find Scorpion next to the Vulture.

"Come on Gargan. Let's take this bitch down." Vulture sneered.

"Nah. Boy scouts are on their way. We have to hustle. He said before taking out a device and pressing its button. No sooner than he done that than a bright light engulfed both villains by the time and by the time it subsided neither of them was anywhere to be seen. Though I didn't lose this fight, I was able to get a name.

The masters of Evil."
