The centipede is twice as big as me...seeing them never fails to surprise me.
I smile and draws my katana with my right hand.
Now I don't regret bringing so much food, I just need to find the others.
The centipede charges toward me. I position my katana sideways such that it will touch the mouth first and charge towards the centipede once it's close enough. I place my left hand behind my right hand for support and with one swift slash, I slice the centipede into two.
The centipede has a hard shell on top and below so positioning my katana upwards is not a wise choice. The likelihood that my katana will break too.

Well, I could have beaten the centipede with brute strength but I wanted to level my katana up. It seems like the Exp buff doesn't work on my weapons.

I enter the team chat and type "Where are the three of you?"

Karma: Whatever you do, do not go onto the streets. Just hide in a building or something. I will be there to save you and also, listen to En when she tells both of you to do something.
Ika: En again...Do you like her?
Karma: No I don't! Just listen to her!

The city of Polem is exactly in the middle of the map. Although it is big and filled with wonderful resources and weapons, from the second day onwards, there will be countless, dangerous monsters roaming the streets. High risk, high return and people usually go in groups of 20 to loot the city. But, out of 209 groups that attempted, only 26 survived and they barely looted anything.

I also need to get something only available in that city but... It's better that I confirm their safety first.
The temple of Apollo is useless to me, I don't need the loot and it will be a hassle travelling there.
But first, a map...i should get one somewhere here.
In the end, I spent 3 hours finding a map.

I hold the map up and upload it into my navigator.
Thirst...i am getting thirsty, should drink to prevent heatstroke.
I hurriedly gulp a bottle of water down and was preparing to leave when I hear footsteps.

I peek over from the window near me. I am in a convenience store right now so there's a high chance I should be meeting them as they will need resources here but instead, they walked right past me...?
This seems suspicious, they don't look like noobs as well.
Their name tag...they are on the top 20 rankings! Why are they avoiding this store?
Curious, I follow them and tried to eavesdrop.
They decided to rest in a building after a while and my chance finally came.
"How much longer till we reach the city of Polem?"
"I don't know. Probably 2 or 3 more days, we were spawned right in this crappy city, there's nothing good here except centipedes attacking you from everywhere."
"Besides, what are we even going to do there? Boss, you have not said a single word about why since we spawned."
"Alright alright, you know the top 2 players Karma and Silverfish?"
"Of course."
"Good, Silverfish is planning to take down Karma and I agree with the plan too. Karma overpowered Silverfish by 30000 points!! And he did it with two frail ladies. I bet they are going lovey-dovey all night!"
I am going to kill this bastard.
"So what are you saying is...Silverfish is afraid of Karma and wants everyone to gank him."
"Yeah...i know it's cowardly but I am afraid of him too. I saw him kill in the mall in the previous stage and it was terrifying..."
"Well, breaks over, let's go."
"Oh wow, leaving so soon?" I say.
"What?!"
Both of them by instinct aim their rifle at me.
"Who are you?"
"What, you don't remember me? Didn't you see me at the mall last time?"
"Y-You are Karma?!?!??"

They silently surrender and places their gun down.
"Please just give us a quick death! I completely surrender."
Looking at their pathetic state, I laugh.
"Come on, don't be so tense, I don't plan on killing both of you. I want you to help me. I pay even more than silverfish you know, you should be grateful!" I say.
Both of them stares at me and then at each other. Slowly, they smile and says "If that is the case, we will be in your care."
I smirk.
Change of plan, I am butchering that pig, Silverfish, first.
