Chapter 86 - Wild Tour

Chapter 86 - Wild Tour

...

Luckily we were also given some coupons for taking bicycles or ferries along the way to help us get from one region to the other. Still, most of the tour was meant to be experienced on foot, since the rides weren't available in the viewing area except for the bicycles.

Jorah closely stuck to Celesta's side as she curiously looked all over the place, after which she turned to look at me as she enquired,

"Big Sister Carene, let's go see a lioness first! I want to see how huge it is and how it actually compares to a male lion."

A lioness, huh? Yeah, if we talk about the star attraction of any zoo on earth, other than a select few places, it would be the King and Queen of the Jungle.

Being a woman... part-woman at least, even I wished to see the grandeur of the apex predator of the same gender as us. I know that a lot of men find visiting Lions, Tigers or Bears more interesting, there is a certain proud yet powerful aura around a Lioness that is unmatched by anything else. As an inspiration source for many women worldwide, a Lioness is often at the top of the list when asked to compare themselves with others.

"Okay, okay. Let's go there first."

As we checked the zoo map for the directions and made our way there, upon reaching the place, a man dressed in an outdoor survival getup called out to us as he spoke to Celesta.

"Hello there! I am the guide for this area. Welcome to the African Savannah area of our zoo. It would be my pleasure to lead you ladies for a tour around this place."

A guide, huh? Do we really need one at the moment? I mean, we have a proper map of the zoo, along with us three being more than enough to keep things lively...

Also, inviting an outsider into our group, even if it was a tour guide didn't seem that exciting at the moment, especially considering the family intimacy that the two girls with me clearly desire at the moment.

As I wondered if we really needed a guide for our private tour, Jorah suddenly snapped at the guy as she screamed at him,

"Hmph~! Smelly Uncle, don't ruin my Big Sister Celesta and Big Sister Carene's date! We don't need a third wheel here, alright?!"

Smelly? Is he really that smelly or is my nose not functioning anymore? And, why did Jorah become so agitated all of a sudden? She was behaving so calmly until now.

The man, Celesta and I, all three of us were totally stunned by Jorah's sudden proclamation. The man in particular eyed Celesta and me for a bit, before a look of disappointment flashed across his face as he spoke to us,

"E-Ehhh? Is, that so?? I-I didn't know that you two..."

See? Even the guy himself looked totally surprised at Jorah's harsh words. Yeah, he didn't say anything remotely derogatory or harassing, ao the scolding didn't seem to match up with his actions from earlier.

As Celesta prepared to politely turn the man down, Jorah erupted all over again, as she replied haughtily,

"Hmm? Are you looking down on my big sisters? Let me tell you then, they are more amazing than any man could ever hope to be!"

Hmm... I do agree that being with the girls had been a better experience in comparison, especially when I remember the boys from my College... they really were a bunch of animals in disguise.

Celesta looked really embarrassed with Jorah's sudden behaviour, as she lightly scolded her and turned to the man with an apologetic look,

"Calm down Jorah. I am sure he didn't mean it in that manner. Sorry, but... we three would like to be on our own today."

Yup, that's the way you should tell them down, Jorah. In the end, being toxic and rude to others ends up not being of any good to ourselves. It's best to hold in any vile thoughts until they are absolutely needed.

The man looked clearly shaken as he eyed Jorah with fear. He kept inching away from us as he spoke out reluctantly,

"O-Oh... then, I'll leave first..."

Seeing the man leaving, I felt half bad for our rude behaviour. Unlike me though, Jorah showed no signs of remorse as she even scolded the departing figure.

"Hmph, hmph! And don't come back again, you creep!"

That... kind of came from nowhere. I wonder what happened that caused Jorah to be in such a bad mood suddenly.

Even Celesta didn't look too happy with Jorah's rude behaviour as she admonished her properly.

"That's not good behaviour, Jorah. You must not be so disrespectful towards your adults, alright?"

Hopefully, Jorah won't act so rudely to others anymore. Celesta was right in trying to correct her wrong behaviour early on before it became too late to do so.

Jorah however, didn't back down at even that, as she placed her hands at her waist and proudly declared,

"Whoever dares to look down upon my Sisters is just asking for a beating. I even let him off easy, you know? Really~~ what would you do without me, Big Sis? You are too kind to others! The lecherous look in his eyes he had towards you two... I could see all of it!"

Jorah didn't look to be in the state of being able to comprehend our view, and as such Celesta only sighed to herself heavily with a troubled look on her face.

Deciding not to let such a minor incident affect our mood today, I patted Jorah's hair lightly and spoke to her in a comforting manner,

"Okay, okay. Don't mind it so much, Jorah. We are here to have a good time today, right? Let's push all negatives aside and focus on sightseeing casually."

Jorah looked at me gratefully as she jumped at me to hug me tightly and exclaimed,

"Okay~! Hehehe, only Big Sister Carene understands me the best!"

Ah... who could keep on remaining angry at such a cute girl?

I give up. I am too weak at heart to be able to discipline Jorah. The heavy duty would certainly have to be taken up by Celesta, though I do feel sorry for her as it might strain their relationship a bit if they keep arguing over it for a long.

Celesta looked a little envious of Jorah praising me like this, as she turned her face away from us and spoke mockingly,

"Oho~? So, I don't understand you that well, hmm?"

Aaah! You are in trouble again, Jorah. Go and quickly placate your sad elder sister. She certainly didn't want to be hated by you, alright?

Jorah seemed to have realized her fault too, as she quickly tried to appease her depressed elder sister.

"Ah! N-No, it's not like that... ehehe..."

Jorah's naughty behaviour today was in complete contrast to the good girl behaviour that she had when I arrived. I could feel that she had started to enjoy herself more now and was becoming more and more expressive without caring about other's views. That in itself could never be a bad thing, right?

Let's just hope that I'm not being a bad influence on her at all.

...

After much debate, Celesta finally relented and agreed to visit the carnivorous animal zone, and Jorah got to see all the wild and dangerous animals in the closest proximity possible.

Although she had been really pumped up about it initially, her enthusiasm soon died down after staying there for some time as she herself made the decision to switch areas again.

Her cute little face was overshadowed by her frowning eyebrows and her pouting mouth, so much so that she looked totally disappointed with the current zone, while she walked along with us towards the next zone.

"Hmm... the Lions were not that fun. They looked totally lazy and uncaring. I was hoping that they would hunt a few animals for us to see..."

I don't know about that. Most of the animals here seem to behave meeker whenever Celesta arrives near to them. Although there was a childish look of delight and anticipation in Celesta's eyes, the animals wanted to stay far away from her at all costs.

Even the look of dejection she had after not getting to see them closely looked surprisingly adorable to me.

Seeing Jorah continuing to pout and sigh repeatedly, I decided to try diverting the topic somehow.

"They are wild animals, Jorah. They aren't so easy to tame. Then, which ones do you wish to visit next?"

Jorah looked to have pondered over my suggestion very seriously for a bit, as she remarked,

"Hmm... the big animals seem boring. We even saw a Giraffe, a Hippo and a Rhino on the way here, but they couldn't excite me that much..."

Just as I thought. This area was totally no good. Then, which area should we go to have some real fun?

Thinking like that, I once again observed the overview map and compared our options.

"Then... the area nearest to us is the Avian's Territory. Should we go take a look there? I am sure it would be a very different experience from viewing the larger mammals. It would be fun to find different types amongst the trees, right?"

A strange light came from within Jorah's eyes as she jumped repeatedly and shouted with excitement,

"Yes, yes! Let's see some colourful birdies! Big Sister Celesta... why are you sitting there so quietly..?"

I had tried to let her recover on her own after many of my failed attempts, but Jorah ended up directly poking Celesta with her innocently curious question.

Celesta's body visibly shook once, before her shoulders sagged even further as she kept poking the grass on the roadside.

"I-I am... fine..."

Poor Celesta. She seems totally heartbroken from being ignored by the animals. I almost felt like dragging some of them for her to play with, but... that would be borderline animal cruelty seeing how much they were avoiding her.

With a jubilant Jorah and a sulking Celesta, we soon made our way towards the Avians Territory. Rather than the large portions of individually separated zones, the Avian's territory was more open to explore as we could closely see them from where we stood.

I didn't know why, but the birds didn't look to fear Celesta all that much. Maybe it's the birdbrain effect?

While I was thinking of how good the spots under the trees were for sitting down for breakfast or lunch, bird poop began to rain right next to us, dismantling that thought out of my head completely.

Celesta's mood became better too as she looked around and talked about the various birds with Jorah.

As Celesta's beauty kept attracting my eyes more and more, I almost lost myself in a trance while continuing to stare at her with my mind full of appreciation towards her. Before I could be noticed and shamefully pointed out by Celesta, Jorah exclaimed loudly as she called out,

"Hmm? Ah! B-Big Sister Carene... so amazing!"

Although I feared her exposing my dumb action just before, Jorah looked to be totally amazed at something else. As she kept pointing towards me, I tried to look around myself... and it was then that I realized.

"Ehh? Why are they all sitting around me? I didn't even feed them anything yet."

Birds of different kinds were sitting around me, some near my arm, some over my shoulders, and some even above my head. Looking at them chirping so happily, I kind of became embarrassed at their sudden shower of attention, making me wonder if it was the effect of my perfume or something.

Meanwhile, Jorah looked totally amazed at me and kept talking about it with Celesta. Celesta, however, pouted again as she looked at me with a side glance and spoke with a sullen tone,

"Really amazing.., so, Carene is beloved for the animals, huh? As for me..."

As I tried to find the reason for her weird mood while comparing her and mine state, I soon discovered the prime reason for her behaviour.

Yup, even the birds weren't approaching her. I guess it was already good enough that they didn't abandon us entirely. Meanwhile, I kept praying to the God above to spare me from being drenched in bird poop today.
