Ashen has been in the magic academy for over two years now, yet, his magic skills remain as bad as when he first got there. He is ranked as one of the lowest magic users in the whole academy. He is constantly bullied because of this even his mates and some of his juniors boss him around.


Tired of this miserable life, he saved enough to buy himself a new and popular magical wand rumoured to improve one's magic. 


At the market, a sudden turn of events stirs him towards a different path, one that Ashen isn't convinced is completely safe and free from danger when he unexpectedly becomes the sole owner of the only dragon egg in existence.

A Gift of Fire

With small tentative steps seeing no other way around the green obstacle in front of it, and looking down at its sharp paws used for sticking to the walls of the caves and the ground it walked on, without thinking further, the cute squirrel beast jumped on top of the green thing in front of it, to jump to the other side and be on its way.


Silence reigned…as Ashen and Green tentatively held their breaths seconds away for dashing for their lives the moment they saw the cute fellow leap on the monster's tail.


"I think we should run," Green said even though the monster in front of them still seemed to be asleep.


Ashen hearing this, already began taking bigger steps back, thankful that the monster was indeed a deep sleeper. As he backed away the range with which he could see the monster got smaller since the light no longer covered it.
