CHAPTER 29
Me and Aiko were walking through the halls of the mansion while carrying each a basket full of laundries with a destination to the laundry room to store these laundries.
I spent quite a lot of time with Aiko this past few years especially when my training ends I would always chat with her about useless stuff and I also sometimes help her with her job there were little things to do here after all.
All of that caused Aiko to relax around me and she would even occasionally open up to me about her past and troubles with only her stubborn personality preventing her from completely opening up to me with everything.
As we were walking I noticed that Aiko was taking glances at me for a while now so I decided to ask what was up.
"What is it?" I looked at her and asked.
"Eh? Well..." She got embarrassed and looked at the ground with red cheeks then smiled before she continued talking again.
"Well... I was just thinking how nice you are Sir Laiya."
"Eh?" I was pleasantly surprised, nice...? it's been quite a long time since someone called me "nice".
I looked right at her and said, "You really think so?"
"Of course!" She immediately replied and nodded her head vigorously.
I smiled sweetly "Thanks."
[ 3rd POV ]

Aiko's heart skipped a beat as she become dazzled by the boy's charming smile, in fact, she was so lost in reverie that she didn't notice that they were at the staircase causing her to trip on the stairway and causing the basket full of laundries to fly away.
She only realized her misstep when she felt that she was plummeting down the stairs she knew that she couldn't break her fall so she steeled herself and closed her eyes waiting for her face to strike the hard and rough stairs.
As she was waiting she sensed something was off.
( Did falling normally took this long? ) She thought with still closed eyes she had tripped countless times so she was an expert at falling she knew something was off so she opened her eyes and scanned her surroundings there she saw a young boy carrying a basket full of laundry that she had unintentionally thrown away with his left hand and the other holding the back of the collar of her maid uniform keeping her from falling.
"Good grief" Laiya sighed "You really need to watch where you're going Aiko." Laiya said and pulled her back preventing her from falling completely.
"Are you alright?" Laiya asked as ensuring Aiko was alright.
"Yes, don't worry Sir Laiya I'm all fine thanks to you." She said with a sweet smile "Also I'm really sorry I didn't look where I was going..." She said slightly depressed because of her blunder.
Laiya who saw her smiled amusedly ( Oh? Aiko did change quite a bit mentally, normally she would make a big deal with even the smallest mistakes that she makes and would vigorously apologize for it, but just now she didn't overreact her blunder and that depressed look isn't anymore due to her being scared of being punished due to her mistakes but she is purely lamenting due to the fact that she failed to do her job properly It looks like spending a lot of time with her this past few years making her relax around me had paid off. ) He thought.
"Oh don't worry about it, you're worried about Kamina right? Then let's get this over with and treat her." Laiya said and handed her, her basket full of laundry before picking up his basket that he put on the floor before making his way again to the laundry room leaving Aiko to follow.
Aiko followed Laiya while smiling "You really are nice Sir Laiya..." She mumbled before catching up to him.
