Chapter 14 Life Stealing I and Desire I

"Are there any other recipes?" Aske continued, using a speaker.

"I don't have the recipe for Life I, but I do have a clue." The number 10 compartment replied, "40 pounds."

"Deal." Aske said.

The money was swept away by the Shadow, and after a moment, a note was delivered.

"Please go to house number 44 on Duloc Road in the slums by midnight tonight, where you'll find the Life I recipe you're looking for."

"Is this... an invitation?" Nora asked hesitantly.

"Hmm, I have some impression of this," Aske recalled, seemingly about a side quest.

"Impression?" Nora didn't understand.

"Don't worry, I'll accompany you tonight," Aske said.

Nora immediately felt relieved and kept the note.

Aske asked a few more times, but got no response. Just when Medea and Peggy were starting to feel disappointed, the host finally spoke:

"Life Stealing I, Desire I, are these the Magic Potion Sequences for the Blood Clan path and Enchanting Demon path, right? I happen to have them, but what price can you give?"

"Cash?" Aske asked.

"Sure, 1,000 pounds per recipe." The host leaned back leisurely in his chair, supporting his head with one hand, "It's ten times more expensive compared to the general price of Sequence I recipes. However, this is a seller's market, and I'm not short of money."

"Perhaps we can substitute cash with something else." Aske thought to himself if you're planning to fleece me, don't blame me for tricking you hard this time, "Such as hidden information?"

"You can write down the information you think is valuable." The host said, "If I approve and am willing to buy it, then you can add more detailed information to complete the deal."

"Okay." Aske wrote down a sentence and handed it to the Shadow Tentacles in front.

The host took the note and read, "The whereabouts of the Shadow Blade."

"To think you're a historian." Through the transmission of the Shadow Tentacles, the host's undisguised voice rang out, probably from a strong middle-aged man, "If you're talking about the blade used by Bruno to assassinate Emperor Caesar at the end of the Third Epoch, I'm definitely interested."

"The clue about the Shadow Blade, true or not. Should be worth 2,000 pounds." Aske replied.

"Not bad, provided you can't forge it so obviously that I spot the flaws right away," the host responded, "Write it down."

The ladies, not understanding and not daring to come closer—since from the host's tone, they already knew it was a very valuable weapon—just a clue was worth 2,000 pounds; how massive must the value of the actual object be? It was probably a precious item used only by those of high rank!

"Written." Aske handed the note over. The Shadow Tentacles snatched it up, and after a moment, returned with two papers.

Had the other party passed the review? Was the clue Aske wrote real? Everyone looked at each other, unsure what to say.

"This is actually a loss," Medea couldn't help but say, "Two Sequence I recipes in exchange for a clue worth 2,000 pounds? I could have offered 500 pounds and probably bought it with the help of five or six Transcendents!"

"It's just a clue," Aske said lightly, "Whether or not it can be obtained is another matter."

From his tone, it seemed that acquiring the Shadow Blade was not an easy task. So everyone calmed down and looked at the two pieces of paper in Aske's hands.

The recipe for Life Stealing I is:

- Main Ingredient -

Mash of Golden Leech

-Subsidiary -

Fruit of Eden

Olive Oil of Corfu

Podwer of Ferrous Oxide

- Processing -

Take one Fruit of Eden, place it in a stone bowl, and manually mash and juice it (Note: Do not use any metal juicing devices), filter the impurities, add a spoonful of Olive Oil of Corfu and stir clockwise until evenly mixed. Add a little Powder of Ferrous Oxide and continue stirring counterclockwise until the viscous liquid turns red, then add the Mash of Golden Leech, and continue stirring counterclockwise until it condenses into blocks for consumption.

"Does this recipe ring a bell, Aske?" Peggy asked nervously.

"It should be genuine." Aske said, "Leeches represent Stealing, Fruit of Eden represents Life, Ferrous Oxide represents blood, and olive oil represents the body; from the perspective of mysticism, it's correct. The Fruit of Eden and Olive Oil of Corfu both come from the Sirius Province, and the Mash of Golden Leech... I have a clue; we can sort it out later."

Thus, Peggy also relaxed, and everyone looked at the other recipe for Desire I:

- Main Ingredient -

Panopea Abrupta of Bathnia Gulf

- Subsidiary -

Menophania of Human Virgin

Lithocarpus Pachylepis with Purgatory smell

75% Medical Alcohol

- Processing -

After crushing the Lithocarpus Pachylepis saturated with the smell of Purgatory, dissolve in 10 ml of 75% Medical Alcohol, filter out the impurities, add two spoonfuls of Menophania of Human Virgin, rotate to mix evenly, evenly pour onto the Panopea Abrupta of Bathnia Gulf's surface and consume by biting and chewing.

"If this recipe is real," Nora spoke casually, "at least I can provide the Medical Alcohol as a subsidiary."

"Elephant Clams from Basnia Bay?" Medea fretted, "What is that?"

"Basnia Bay is in the northern region of the Karma Empire." Aske explained, "This elephant clam is the most popular spiritual material in Constantinople; consumed as a potion, it has a strong stimulating effect on men."

"I see," Medea's pretty face turned red, clearly understanding what "stimulating" meant, "Then let's rely on our squad leader Aske. I know about the thick-scaled copper, after we go out, we can ask the traders from the Ilanian Plateau."
