Destroying the holding facility didn't hurt Wilkis much. 


The underground area of this zone had no civilian populations close to it. Nor did the surface area of this hidden place was in use at all. So blowing it up and causing a hole to appear on the surface also didn't affect him much.


Wilkis had expected all of this, he was ready for an accident to happen from the start. One might even say he got used to it because Alfin was a volatile bomb that lived in his city.


And considering what has happened in the past. There were no living beings around Alfin to consume in case he goes berserk. He was completely sealed here without having the ability to harm people. 


As for why Wilkis didn't keep him inside his void space? The reason was the same. He can't expect when the godly being might descend on Alfin.


In case that happened when Alfin was inside his void space, then he might have pitted himself.
