Chapter Thirty-Nine — Memories And Coma

In The Dreamland

(Jemima's POV)

After I left the palace, I quickly entered the luxurious carriage without pausing to breathe properly. I already had a long list of places to go to after I visit the library.

"Take me to the Imperial Academy immediately." I ordered like a princess should do. People saw me as a jovial and playful girl but I can be authoritative at times. Those two maids in the palace are witnesses.

"Okay…princess Ximena…" The coachman replied. "Off we go…" And the luxurious carriage started moving.

Within thirty minutes I arrived at the Imperial Academy. Stepping down from the carriage with my heavy gown and with the help of the coachman, my eyes landed on the ancient-like building. It was a historic building but it was still strong and rock-solid.

Domes and pillars with primal carvings embellished the buildings and it made the building give off that air of antiquity. It was rumored that our very first ancestor built this in honor of the lady he loved so much.

"Hello Miss Jodie…" I greeted the young lady that was standing at the terrace. She was probably in her late twenties or early thirties. She was the custodian of this academy and I always had a tiny tiff with her anytime I disobeyed her instructions.

"I'm here to pick up something. It won't take long…" With that, I sneaked in to the Imperial Academy to get my stuffs.

The inside was like heaven on earth. Everything was helplessly neat to the core. There was no speck of dust in the atmosphere. One could see the brightening glimmer and shimmer of the Academy, even a blind man could sense that.

Not wasting a moment to praise the elegance of the academy, I went straight to the library to get some manuscripts and scrolls for my assignments.

The scenery drifted away to where I was encircled by eight weird monoliths. This place was known as the ancient monolith circle. These monoliths were about the four prime elements that four ancillary elements that kept the human race existing.

As I stood in the middle of the eight monoliths, my head went spinning. How on earth did I get here?

As I was assessing myself, a little boy walked up to me. He really looked cute and emitted that princely aura. Of course, he was the youngest Major in Ohreja…Young Major Kyle. Who doesn't know him…? The devil's first son as rumored.

His silky skin shone brightly and his lustrous platinum blonde hair that reached his shoulder waltzed elegantly as he walked towards me – that was when his aura intensified. His fawn-colored eyes sparkled when his face met with the blinding sun rays. His regal outfit screamed of regality and he was exceptional amongst the list of good-looking boys I knew.

He strode majestically to where I stood and that was when I knew he had that air of arrogance around him but he was cute.

"Hi…Princess Ximena." He said with such uncaring tone and his countenance didn't betray that. He didn't even bow at all. What a disrespectful brat. Wasn't he supposed to be formal with his greetings when talking to royalty?

"Hey!" I replied with the same measure of uncaring tone he used on me. I didn't look at him either and he looked quite surprised when he heard that but that surprise lasted for a second. I didn't see his expression clearly.

He scanned the environment and saw the eight monoliths that encircled us.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Nothing, I just came here to watch the ancient monoliths." I replied and sat on the lawn. The breeze touched my skin and I felt rejuvenated. That brewing anger within dissipated immediately.

Putting his hands in his pocket, he walked around the monoliths, touching and scanning them.

"Do you know what these monoliths are all about?" He asked, his melodious voice coupling with the cool breeze. Gosh! His voice reverberated as if it was godlike.

"Nope!" I replied. All I know was that the monoliths were about the four prime elements and the other four ancillary elements that kept the human race existing and that's all.

"How would you know? You have such infant brain, stuffed with only mischiefs and naughtiness." He cautioned me. I got angry and pouted my lips. I was now sullen…how can a little boy like this scold me like that?

"That monolith facing us is the fire monolith." He said pointing to the one in front of us.

He continued, "And of course as its name implies, fire and volcano are carved on the monolith. It looks quite daunting but it's mystic…" I was stunned. I never knew about that and those tutors never told me anything like that when they were talking about the ancient monoliths and its mystery.

He continued, "According to the astral aspect, this monolith was protected by a leprechaun named Aziz. Aziz is the most powerful ruler of the infinite light. There are about twelve rulers of the infinite light but Aziz is stronger than them all so that's why he is the number one. Back to the monolith, but also in the historical aspect…I mean the one written by our forefathers, it was said that an individual named Sir Nutlu Raikkonen preserved the fire monolith for ages. His entire lineage protected this monolith because it brought wealth and good luck to them."

I was amazed hearing about that and with Young Major Kyle telling me something like this, I didn't see him as someone who was arrogant anymore.

"And the one behind us is the WATER MONOLITH…" He said and I turned behind to look at the monolith. It was pastel blue in color and calmness flooded my heart seeing it, unlike the fire monolith that was scorching red. Tracing the beautiful motifs on the monolith with my big and charming eyes, Young Major Kyle ruffled my hair.

"You're still wet behind the ears."

I was angry with what he said. How could he said that? I just dropped my guards and didn't see him as someone who was arrogant but he made me disprove that. I could stop myself from asking what he meant by that.

"What do you mean by that?"

"You know nothing at all but if you need my help, I'm available." He said with a smirk and left the monoliths circle. Maybe I really need to take my lessons seriously and stop with my mischiefs.

(Third Person's POV)

Back At The Mysterious Château

"For how long will she be asleep?" Ashe asked Kaliope but Kaliope remained dumb.

"C'mon, talk to me old friend…"

Kaliope finally answered her after so many pestering.

"For more than three months…"

"What?!" Ashe exploded. "Do you mean that she will be asleep for more than three months?"

"Yes. And she's not asleep, she's in a coma."

"How great!"

Just as Ashe lamented, Desha joined them. She was not with her cohorts. Alyse and Bitsy were busy admiring the beauty of the château.

"So what now?" Desha asked them and the other two turned to look at her.

"Do we have to wait till she wake up? Three months is a very long time." Desha said again.

Ashe was intrigued with what Desha said and she backed her up, "Desha has some points…let's just suck up her memory and powers now that lady luck is on our side."

"If we suck up her memory while she's in coma, there's high possibility of not sucking out those deep memories. I mean that we'll end up just sucking out her shallow memories but the deep memories will stay. Those shallow memories will be useless to us after all so…" Kaliope explained and the others nodded.

"But all the same, three months is a very long time." Desha grumbled and the others laughed.
