Chapter Forty-One — Don't!!!

▶▶AT VEL LINDO RESTAURANT

▶IN EVANDER

There was a very popular restaurant well-known in Evander as the Vel Lindo Restaurant. It was owned by one of the topflight plutocrat families in Evander and that was The Yeats. Vel Lindo Restaurant was the topmost high-class and profitable restaurant in Evander because it was only open to bigwigs. The restaurant could be seen as a numerous starred restaurant for the reason that the workforces were treated with extreme care and they also treated customers with great care. To them, customers which were the bigwigs are kings and deserved veneration when they are served.

In this high-class restaurant, there were private rooms where confidential matters were discussed. Booked tables filled the restaurants as bigwigs trooped in and out. The private rooms looked very voguish and specially reserved for persons talking about confidential business matters. It had excellent sound proofing system so confidential issues were not seeped out at all. Not even the workforces know about the discussions in these private rooms.

In one of the exclusive private rooms, Sir Renwick and Mr. Disraeli were seen seated opposite each other at the sophisticated polished table. Varieties of extravagant meals were placed before them at the table. Waitpersons trooped in and out just to make them comfortable because they were the top potential customers of Vel Lindo Restaurant so they deserved exceptionality when served.

"Finally! You've found your lost child." Mr. Disraeli teased once again and lifted his wine glass to Sir Renwick but the hardnosed man there rebuffed him totally. It was like Sir Renwick was deep in thoughts so he didn't mind what Mr. Disraeli said. Usually, he would just glare and that was enough to send frissons to one's spine.

"No matter how you make people tremble, you can't make me tremble. We are very close friends right from birth so I know you just like I know my name." Mr. Disraeli smirked and Sir Renwick nodded. It was true though. Their mothers were best friends so the two men were friends.

"Of course I know that you know me very much but do you know any of my dormant underground secrets?" Sir Renwick queried with a smirk and Mr. Disraeli's mouth was wide ajar in shock. What kind of question was that?

▶▶AT THE WATER FOUNTAIN

▶IN SKYE EVANDER HIGH SCHOOL

'Things are getting more byzantine. Four schoolgirls are missing and now it's all linked up with Desha and one old powerful sorceress.' Jayden thought as he rubbed his forehead wearily. He was now wizened as he had very dark circles under his eyes and his skin wasn't smooth and glowing as it used to. His hair was disheveled and he was extremely dirty and tired as he yawned o'er and o'er again. He just wanted all this to stop but it wasn't. It was getting deeper and enigmatic for him to handle.

As he kept thinking, his phone rang. It was Vince, his best friend.

"Hello Vince." Jayden greeted and Vince chuckled as usual.

"Have you heard the hottest tidings about some stupid triplets?" Vince asked directly and lazily. It was obvious in his voice that he was also tired and was feeling so sleepy and hungry.

"Nah…tell me." Jayden replied. His eyes dilated in curiosity and his body tensed up. His breathing was regular but a bit hoarse too.

"Some triplets were found dead and dumped. The autopsy test conducted on them confirmed that they were all murdered but the boys didn't look they were murdered. At first sight, I thought they were poisoned or suffocated to death. These boys are actually students from the legendary Rico Frankel College and they call themselves 'The Teacube Triplets'. The investigation team filed them as suspects in this case of the missing girls, you can guess why." Vince briefed up with a yawn and Jayden agreed involuntarily.

They must be the three boys that intruded into Skye Evander High School during the Impeccable Contest. He was sure of that.

Slipping his phone into his pocket after cutting the call, his face darkened at once. Dawn had involuntarily turned to him when she heard 'The Teacube Triplets'. She knew that the investigation team were gathering info and Vince leaked them to Jayden so as to keep him up-to-date.

"Desha killed The Teacube Triplets." Dawn spilled the news with a bitter smile and Jayden reluctantly turned to her. "And she also killed Kitty, my sister. A-although she's not my biological sister but we are actually sworn sisters." She added as she deepened her bitter smile. She really missed Kitty.

Flashes and images of dead Kitty appeared in her mind and Dawn clenched her fist in anger. Her eyes were now watery and she almost wanted to cry but she held it back. She had to be brave and strong to fight for her friends. To her, crying meant weakness and defeat.

Jayden who was sitting there was totally numb when he heard what Dawn said. Desha really killed people. This was really getting out of hand.

"And those missing girls are now in her custody. If she's not controlled, I bet she'll lose her senses and kill Jemima and the girls." She added as she craned her eyes to look at the numb dude. It must have been hard on him all this while. As a dependable ambassador of Skye Evander High School he was, he really needed to contribute to the finding of the missing girls so that was why he crazily searched for info which his best friend, Vince supplied.

"Do you have an idea where Desha and the missing girls are?" Jayden asked, slowly absorbing the information Dawn gave to him. He was gradually coming back to his senses.

"Nope. Only the fourth dimension knows." Dawn giggled shrewdly and fiddled her slim fingers through her kinky hair. She was obviously tying her hair into a tight bun.

"You mean time?" Jayden probed and Dawn nodded with a faint smile.

'Yes. Only time knows because according to my assumption, Desha would have to move these girls to another place so that she can confirm that she's safe. Not in her basement anymore because I already know there and I can expose the place to everyone if I wanted to. Moreover, she would think that I will blurt out what happened at her basement.' Dawn laughed within herself and her smile dropped after much analyses.

After a long silence of contemplation, another thought popped up in her mind.

'What if the girls are not with Desha, then where will they be? Perhaps they're with that gluttonous underling, Ashe and that Lady Kismet, right? Oh my! And maybe Desha has been meeting with Lady Kismet all this while. Was that why she was never perturbed all this while? Because she had backup? And she has been using the triplets and the flirts just to get what she want? How malicious! Is that why we have not heard from her cause she's a suspect according to the Investigation Team.'

After thinking hard for more than five minutes, she remembered something that she was not supposed to forget.

'And also according to the historic tale my mom told me back then when I was very young, she said that Lady Kismet doesn't live in the usual mortal time, she lives in another dimension of time. Holy crap! This is too much!'

She exploded inwardly and shook her head. It was like she was going to explode if she didn't stop thinking too much. Air was sucked away from her soul and she was so still. Her eyes bulged out from its socket and goose bumps descended on her.

'So Jemima and the other girls are in another dimension of time right now? Is that why we haven't heard from them all this while? So they're not in earth at all? Damn it!' Dawn face-palmed herself and shook her head in anger.

'Desha, you're too much! I still can't believe that you really joined forces with that damn devious Lady Kismet just to get rid of innocent Jemima. What did that innocent angel do to you that you despise her this much?' She clinched within herself and cursed Desha inside her. Her fists balled up and her jaws also clenched in deep anger.

'Desha is such a delusional dipstick to have done that. If I ever set my eyes on her, I'll make sure I leave a permanent scar on her that will serve as a worthy reminder to her anytime she conspires against anyone.' She screamed inwardly again with her honey-hued eyes narrowed and her soul dripping wet from unquenchable rage.

"Are you okay?" Jayden asked and Dawn recovered from her haze. Even though she tried subduing that deep anger that was brewing up, it wasn't working at all. It was like stopping a rampant volcanic eruption with a just a pinky finger. In fact, that eruption would end up burning everything including the pinky finger.

"Let's just get outta here! This place is so suffocating!" Dawn ordered and sprang up on her feet immediately. Calmness returned to her but she still maintained that solemnity that distinguished her from other people. She headed for the gate when Jayden clicked something on an unidentified device and a fiery puce sports car sprinted out of nowhere, roaring so sprightly in front of the serious teen girl. The sports car was very striking but it still had that booming manly vibes that enticed the general public.

It was a chic sports car that was more advanced and more composite than ordinary sports cars. This advanced sports car was blazing puce in color and abstract mauve sparks were splattered around the body making it look so unruly and mannish. The tires weren't black like some other sports cars, it was a rough combination of vermillion and pitch-black and it flamed so brightly when placed in a dark place. Refined porphyries, garnets, and amethysts were used to embellish the sports car and it made it look s0 unique from other ordinary sports cars.

This sports car was one of the fastest and wildest cars made in history. The manufactures titled them as the 'HERCULEAN SPORTS CARS' because they were extraordinarily great. People including the big shots had always wanted to buy them even though there were only four Herculean Sports Car in the whole wide world. Auspiciously, Jayden managed to buy one at a transnational auction he never planned to attend so it was very pricey and maintaining it costs lots of fortunes.

"Wow!" Dawn complimented with her usual poker-face tone. With a faint smirk on her lips, she strode towards the driver's seat.

Jayden's eyebrows furrowed when he saw that Dawn was already sitting at the driver's seat and motioning to him to enter the sports car. His eyes bulged out at the moment.

'Is she going to be driving my sports car?' He asked himself as he took time to scrutinize his new sports car that costs him tons of fortunes. He just bought it few months ago at a transnational auction and he hadn't touched it all but now Dawn was going to be the first person to drive it. He that brought it with his own money at the auction didn't touch it or drive it at all.

Inhaling and exhaling calmly, he composed himself and made for the passenger's seat.

"Please drive carefully, okay?" He told the girl beside him. The girl wasn't listening to him at all, she was just pressing every button she set her eyes on. There was a cool inky-black quadrangular button that glowed indigo from its side and it was set apart from other buttons.

"What are you doing?" He asked Dawn who was still touching the buttons and pressing them eagerly.

"Familiarizing myself with this car. It's been eons since I last drove a sports car…an advanced one at that." She said with a grin as she feasted her eyes again on that special button that was apart from the other buttons. It was black in color and it glowed indigo from the sides. It was glowing so brightly and it was tempting her to press it.

"Don't!!!" Jayden warned as his eyes couldn't hold back its fury. Anger was now enveloping him and his muscles arched out for brutality. Dawn almost wanted to touch it but Jayden held her hand quickly as if he wanted to break it.

"Why?" Dawn questioned reflexively as she pulled her hand from his tight grip. Why wouldn't she touch the button? It's just a button and that's all. The car won't blowup, right?

"Because…because…" Jayden stuttered in pressure. He didn't want to blurt it out now.

"Because of what?" Yelled the young girl. "Just say it!" She screamed angrily.
