The Deity [1]

In this world, brute force will not enough to even take down people, well perhaps if you're lucky enough to overpowered them. They could recover rapidly without the need of doctors nor medicine. Magic, their one aspect for combat could instantly kill you in one blow.

"My, my. Look at that terrified expression, when you meet someone, you should at least greet them, shouldn't you?" The glowing maiden spoke, arms crossed as she sigh.

All Luna did was glare at bare her teeth at her. She was wary. After all, she was a deity.

A certain conversation from last week flow through Luna's memory lane.

[ "Say agapius, I've been thinking, does other Deity has the right to enter this realm? Can they also know that this body have a different soul?"

'Eh~ one question at a time please. But to answer your first question, they can't, but they do can can force their way in, which will only give us a major casualties. Second, some can and some can't, if one can broke in here and it's someone who can sense that kind of thing... We'll be in great trouble.' ]

It's just as agapius said, the change of scenario and sudden appearance of monsters that was not supposed to appear was all because of this Deity standing right in front of her.

Danger, that's what she was sensing, in addition, she knew about 'him'. This Deity can determine that she was not from this world—rather the soul inside of her body.

'Just who is she?'

The Deity snickered as she looked at her amused.

"I know you have a lot of flooding questions, but first and foremost, I have an offer that you might— no I'm sure you won't refuse."

...

There was something in her tone that made Luna shudder. An offer. She didn't like the sound of it, not even one bit.

"... I'm all ears." She replied, hesitatedly.

A huge mischievous grin formed on the Deity's face, but she had her head on low that was out of sight for Luna to even see.

Something made Luna gulp, she felt sweat building up on top of her forehead.

Up in the air, a sudden wind burst through, brushing the tree leaves as they flutter above.

A certain glowing figure that was invisible to the naked eye was soaring high up into the night sky. His eyes wondering in every outskirt of the forest below him.

"Where is it..." He mumbled as he stop mid air floating wandering his eyes to a certain spot. His eyes widen as he finally found what he was looking for.

Agapius immediately drift down through the certain location. Once he gently landed on his feet there he saw a cave, he then strode inside.

The darkness was nothing, for he himself was enough to light up the pitch dark path.

He strode deeper and deeper inside the secluded cave. As he had reached the central part, a dripping sound that echoed welcomed him.

Roaming his eyes as he continued to walk in, Agapius then spotted a circular thing floating up ahead, down was a gushing water circulating  on a round compact ground where the item was floating. It was a some kind of core.

It was glowing. Agapius flew up as he approached the glowing core. Extending his hand as he was about to touch it, but suddenly a chain appeared wrapping around the core making him to withdraw.

Haaaa.

He sighed continuing to look at the floating core chained in front of him.

Once again roam his head and eyes around.

"So this wasn't what they're after, huh? Then what?" He thought for while.

Agapius then immediately strode out of the cave with one last glance to the core, as it started to be out of sight.

The forest and noises of cicadas greeted him out.

Guilt and regret, that was the only thing he was feeling as he got out of the cave, he wasted no time and started to flee towards south.

Something kept on repeating inside of his head as he flew mid air.

'I shouldn't have left Dizian!'

***

Luna stagger as she blinked countless of times at to what she had just heard.

"It's a pretty good offer right?" The Deity said amused as she sneered.

Indeed, It really was. But somehow, Luna doesn't really find it quite a 'good offer'. The Deity was just basically wanted her gone in this world.

It was although, a tempting offer nonetheless. But it was also useless in someway.

"An offer for me to go back, huh?" Luna said repeating what the Deity offered.

"In the first place you don't even like it in here, do you?" She presume.

Luna clutch her hand as she smiled and face the lady in front of her.

"How can you say that? Honestly, I don't mind being here. Well, it may be true that I get homesick at times, but if I were to choose... I'd choose to stay here, I may not exactly be the chosen soul but since I'm here, why not make it fun and enjoyable until the end. Beside, I know agapius doesn't go back on his word. He'll get me out of here when the time come."

Luna know he can trust agapius but she cannot trust her. She's up to something shady, why else would this deity want her to go back? An act of good will, maybe? No, of course not.

"You really trust him? Ha!" She snorted. "Well, you don't really know him yet, huh? Don't you know he's just using you? A trial for him to be an official deity? You believe that kind of crap?"

The Deity laughed hysterically as she looked at Luna with an Austere expression. It gave her quite a shudder. "What a naive soul."

"Using me?"

"Ah~ that's right he's just using you, do you really think he'll send—"

"That wasn't meant as a question for you to answer. Sure, he's using me, so? If he's using me then I'll also use him to my advantage." Luna knew that she was nothing but a puppet, obeying anything that is supposed to happen in the game like a test lab rat.

If he do betray him one day, toss him like garbage, then Dizian would not blame him, he'll obviously blame himself for choosing to trust Agapius.

But, saying he's just using him plainly without a proper explanation doesn't really justify that agapius is really horrible.

"You're turning a blind eye to him manipulating you huh? I see, but what if one day he'll deliberately make your soul dissolve without a trace, he can and he wi—"

"Why are you deliberately trying to make me hate agapius? And if he is using me, mind telling me for what? In what way is he using me? For him to became a deity? Well sure that's one reason maybe."

"Like I said, that him striving to become an official deity is just him spitting crap—"

"Stop trying to change the subject. Tell me the reason why he's using me."

The Deity fell silent and glared at Luna, she then sighed as she instantly gestured her hand.

Luna's instinct immediately made her to put up a barrier in front of her.

She then suddenly felt the need to abruptly look up and there she saw the two plant sprung out in mid air, diving towards her in a ferocious manner.

The two monster landed as they made the ground grumble, small pieces of crushed solid soil flung up to the sky creating a dust of smoke.

"You stubborn human!" Yelled the Deity, spiteful.

Luna who got barely blown by the sudden landing of the two monsters sneered, as she got her composure back she stood up dusting the small pieces of debris on herself.

The monsters thorny edges sprout as they extend targetting Luna. Probably thanks to what she had learned in a martial arts class she was able to dodge them.

'But I can't dodge them forever, I need to fight.'

There was one problem, Luna could not use magic properly. She has no problem learning the properties of one's magic but casting them was a no go for her.

Monsters started to approached her again with a killing intent, making the ground grumble as they thrust each of their extended thorns towards her that Luna continuously dodge by jumping up and running.

It was hard for her to move, the trees behind her are making her space narrow. In addition, the monsters would just cut them down if she were to land in one of the branches.

She needs something. If only she could make fire, she can but she rather not too, not now especially that she has no control of her magic. If she did cast a fire now there's a hundered percent that it'll create a forest fire.

Tch.

There was no time for her to think, she's in the middle of life and death situation. What can she do to get rid of these species?

Ah.

Something struck her.

Luna may not be able to use something as casting incredibly dangerous and useful magic but she do know something that might be useful. Something she practiced after going back 2 days ago.

'Requip.'

A sword and a gun appeared on each of her side as she immediately took them by hand and made herself ready to blast in front, approaching the danger in front of her.

"Not bad, but do you really think a flimsy one like you who can not even cast a single magic can kill them? Well, if you cast fire then it's your win but to think you're too off in a way. A sword? Sure, but a gun? Don't make me laugh." The Deity snorted, she was sitting in one of the branches away from where Luna was fighting.

Luna dashed as she dodge and cut through the thorns with a single slice. It was quite Lucky for her to have bought a sword before. Her buying a sword in a while was just her wanting to have one. It was always one of her dream to get a hold of a real sword.

Feeling the exhaustion from her body is making her feeble. But it was not time for her to rest, it's time for her to push herself to her limit. She's lazy that's for sure, but she too can be physically active in time.

Jumping as she dodge and cut endlessly the extended thorns fleeing towards her until she was close enough to aim at them.

Luna swung her sword as she had gotten close enough to one of the plant that took a teenager girl' appearance.

She sprung up as she dive into the monster aiming for its chest.

But the other immediately blasted her off before she could dug her sword in. She crashed into a tree trunk hitting her back and head with great force that made her vomit quite a bit.

The Deity laughed hysterically at the laughable sight. Such a petty human.

"See, I told you're no match for them even if—"

Suddenly a fire ignite.

The Deity saw the monsters starting to be covered in an orange flame.

"How...your sword didn't even... No, your gun couldn't possibly made that."

Luna got up as she leaned towards the tree trunk panting heavily as a smirk slip through her lip.

"Ah, yeah that is if it's a regular gun." Luna snorted, she then pointed an iron pistol towards the Deity pulling the trigger as something came out and prick into the tree branch.

It was an arrow, the Deity's eyes glared as to what she saw. The branch started to be lit in fire.

The gun she had requip was an airgun, more specifically it does not fire bullets instead it requires arrows to shoot, the arrows are small enough to pierce without no one noticing, it was also a silent airgun. In addition, it was a fire attribute. Once the arrow got Peirce into the target the fire will ignite 3 seconds after. But a single arrow cannot burn an entire thing, moreover the gun she had was in a pistol form which made the arrows tiny.

'It was a good thing I bought this on the way home 2 days ago. My marking and shooting are lousy but that did the trick just fine.'

In every swing of her sword she shoots the pistol towards the monsters. It was hard to cut and use the pistol at the same time for she had to hide it away from the Deity's sight. Her moves maybe sloppy but she was quite fortunate enough to be able to pull it off.

*

'An arrow airgun? When in the world will you ever need to use that? And...' Agapius glance at the sofa completely covered with metals and other tools use for combat and other magical tools. 'You bought alot of stuff, will you even use them? They'll just be a mere decorative if you won't use them. Generally speaking, they'll be useless '

"Well, who knows, besides I'm learning Requip, might as well use them for something."

*

'See agapius? I managed to use two of the bought items. They're not useless at all.'

Luna watched as the monsters completely burned. The way she defeated them looks pretty illogical even to her. 'Who cares, I'm basically in a modern fantasy world. Anything can happen, no?'

"Ha...haha...hahahaha" the Deity landed on her two feet as she started laughing hysterically. "I must say, I'm impressed, but my goal for you to return still hasn't changed. You need to leave whether you like It or not."

Luna just stared at the Deity. Seems like she's really stubborn.

"Luna!"

The two abruptly turn above to see agapius making his way to land. Once he had step at the ground, visible just like the woman in front.

Agapius supported Luna as she stood up dusting herself. His eyes twitch to see her current appearance.

Ruffled hair, torn dress, body full of dirt and two overly dangerous weapons on both bruised hands.

He then suddenly grabbed her shoulder that made Luna to jolt and lean a little back.

"What in the world happened to you? You look like a delinquent!"

"Ah, this? It's hard to move in a dress so—"

"That's not my point! What will the others say when you went back in that kind of appearance?! Hurry up and change!"

"Huh? Wha— I don't have extra clothes with me, and who cares about that now?! Look in front you, dumbass!"

Luna made Agapius turn almost even breaking his neck.

"Sorry to interrupt your chattering, but your host and I are in a middle of something here." The Deity stated.

Agapius slowly glance towards the Deity as he guarded Luna. He then sighed as he glared at her. Hands brushing through his golden hair;

"How long has it been since we've seen each other? Years? Decades? Millennium? I must say, I'm quite glad to see your face, but I would like it if you were to leave this place without bringing more casualties...Aella."
