Memoria [3]

Agapius couldn't help but feel uneasy, walking back and forth on the bedroom of his sleeping host. Whilst Aella was sitting at the edge of the bed arms and legs cross, observing agapius annoyingly.

"My goodness, stop that. It's only been a day, she'll wake up in no time, you're being paranoid."

"How do you expect me to calm down when my host is unconscious!" Agapius retorted.

"And like I said, it's only been A DAY, not two but A DAY!" Aella yelled back furiously and continued as she sigh "beside didn't you say he's experiencing something?"

Agapius suprisingly stop and glance over to the soundless vessel of his host. She was right, it's only been a day but the fact that Dizian is currently experiencing a Memoria worried him.

But well, it was also bound to happen. He was likely going to put him into a Memoria but it was not supposed to be related to Rinalyn and Shiki.

Initially, after they leave the banquet Luna would get involve with Dion for some time and would be where she would experience the memoria of Dion, but to think that plan went into shambles.

From time to time, Agapius would peek into Dizian's subconsciousness to see how he was holding up. Fortunately, he seem to be doing fine, though he did saw him vomiting and such, but he couldn't meddle in. It's an event that Dizian needed to finish by himself.

"You know, I've been thinking about this for awhile."

Aella spoke up disturbing his train of thoughts. He stared at her, but she was looking at Luna, blankly.

"What?"

"...."

"Well? Speak up."

Aella slowly glance over to Agapius who frowned as he leaned against the door. There was no one around the dormitory, so they could speak loudly as much as they want, the girls was on their classes currently.

"Well, I was just wondering... Why is her hair purple?" She questioned pointing her thumb at the sleeping Luna.

Agapius looked at her dumbfounded as he blink thrice,  he thought it was going to be some sort of a serious question but... Luna's hair color of all things? Really?

Why? Was the color not to her liking?

But there was no need to listen to her, he was the 'creator' after all. Appearance of his characters shouldn't matter to her.

"I mean, not that I care but, shouldn't it be whitish?"

His eyes twitch with her sudden statement.

Ah.

It seem to him that he already knew where this conversation was going. Why bother bringing this up? He doesn't know what goes through her mind. Aella knew too well that he is uncomfortable with this conversation.

"... it's my choice, I didn't care about their appearances. You shouldn't either."

Agapius said, most likely to be a warning rather than an answer.

"Did you now?" She emphasize. Aella seem to have shrugged it off and continued.

"Aella..."

"Luna was it? This soulless child and the vessel Dizian' soul currently is in. She's pretty, not to mention she looks a lot like Celeste—"

"Aella!!!"

The loud yell resonated through out the whole room, echoed even to outside. Luckily the room was soundproof, it shouldn't be a problem since no one would hear them outside the room 077.

Agapius looked at her in disdain, glaring whereas Aella was calm. They exchanged looks before Agapius was the first to avoid clicking his tongue in frustration.

"What? Seriously, you're always this sensitive when we talk about her."

Agapius didn't respond, rather he only glared at Aella who titled her head then glance back to Luna.

Celeste...

He Haven't heard that name in a while— a few thousand years in fact. It was quite nostalgic yet also too painful to reminiscent about.

"She hasn't woken up yet?" Asked Elaina who sat back down to her seat as she placed her tray of food into the circular plastic table.

Arlo shook his head slowly, "Unfortunately, not yet. It's only been a day, so perhaps she'll wake up tomorrow... hopefully." He replied, worriedly, as he gulped his cola.

"I heard that even the medical team hasn't figure out why she became like that." Josephina commented almost muffled, after putting a spoonful of rice into her mouth.

"Don't talk and eat, geez." Elaina scolded nudging her sister.

Arlo put his hand onto the table as he then place his chin on top of his palm, sighing heavily as he played with the last meatball on his plate with the fork.

The two looked at Arlo in annoyance.

Suddenly, Elaina spoke.

"Anyway, Don't you guys also find it weird?" She started, attracting the attention of the two, raising their brows at her in confusion.

She leaned back into her chair as she crossed her arms and furrowed, continuing what she was implying.

"Luna just suddenly became like that, and her roommate— specifically that red haired girl, Rei was it? Burst out crying from her room waking the other 3 up. Furthermore, she left the room when alot had gathered inside and —"

"Are you accusing Rei? Are you implying that she has something to do with Luna's condition?" Arlo interrupted in, glaring at her.

Elaina stared at Arlo apathetically, she then motion her shoulders, shrugging. "It's just a hypothesis, calm down."

"I know you guys are knowledgeable that's why you guys were able to enter alot younger than us. And the whole school knows that you're keen when it comes to observing your surrounding, but suddenly accusing—"

"I'm not accusing her, like I said it's only a hypothesis."

"But you are suspecting her." Arlo emphasize, his sharp eyes fixated to Elaina's brown eyes.

"...."

"I'm only letting you off the hook for now, but if I ever caught you doing the same thing as to those you've accused in the past, I won't let it slide— rather I might even kill you if you lift even a finger on her."

Josephina could only eat uncomfortably, she find it hard swallowing her foods as she listen to their conversation. There was already a tension building up between the two, moreover her sister has a really bad expression plastered onto her face.

Well, what Arlo said was indeed true, sometimes her sister would cross a certain boundary, especially when it comes to Luna. Josephina always carried the guilt for not stopping her even after she found out about all the things Elaina has been doing.

There was an incident that she happened to saw when they were sophomores.

Elaina beating up someone to death. However, she didn't stood up nor stopped her. The incident was still fresh into her memory

Even if she wanted to stop Elaina, she couldn't. She was scared, her whole body became too numb. It was terrifying, the intent to kill was too adamant onto Elaina's eyes.

The table was rattling as the sound of shoes resonated with it.

Remus' eye twitch in annoyance as he immediately grab someone up beside him. His firm grip tighten as the person just look at him with a expressionless eyes.

"Remus, let her go." Shiki said apathetically.

However, Remus didn't listen.

"How long are you gonna act like that? It's only been a day. You're acting like Luna's dead, snap out out of it Rayne."

She shrug his hand from him as she finally looked at him with a glare.

"I told you not to call me that." She warned.

"Why? It's your name. I don't even know why you always introduce yourself as 'Rei', like ain't that your nickname?"

"She get teased alot by our cousins because of her name sounding the same as 'Rain', so just leave her be."

The two shifted their gaze towards Shiki who was there sitting on a wooden chair at the corner of the shack reading a book.

Rei and Remus then looked at each other then went back to their seat with a scowl.

The three were currently at the shack, they decided to stay there after class ended. Because of the sudden incident they hadn't gotten a chance to report back to Rezef— Remus's father.

In a while, they decided to talk about the information they've gathered, what needed to be discarded and to be told.

"The incident yesterday night seem to have been held as a secret. If it didn't, there should've been news about it."

"Do you really think, that Zachary would let such an incident get out? I'm sure they're investigating the source as we speak."

"The principal and vice principal already knew about it."

They turned to Shiki with a widen eye and a 'Are you kidding me?!' face. He only nodded in affirmation. The two then slumped into their seats groaning.

"What do we do? I'm sure they'll know we attended." Stated Rei worriedly.

"What if we get suspended? Damn it!"

Shiki just looked at the two without much expression. Well, they don't really have to worry about it that much. He was called into Marvin's office to talk about the incident of last night and how they get involved with it, of course, he told him the truth. Their actions still aren't valid of course, especially that Luna returned unconscious after. But Marvin let it slide in return of the Information shiki had gathered in the banquet.

"Right, what are your thoughts about the thing that attacked Luna?" Rei suddenly commented.

"Oh, those human looking plant? It's creepy." Replied Remus shivering at the flashback of last night.

"It was odd, there weren't traces of magic around them. But they were surely a doll controlled by someone." Rei elaborated.

Indeed, It was really odd. After the plant being burned and Luna pushing the man with a vibrant golden eye away, the creatures that attacked them just disappeared, there weren't anymore that came. It was only the one that got burned.

Speaking of which, Shiki remembered the troubled face of the man with uniquely golden eyes. Gold eyes are rare to find, it is said that they have quite a high amount of mana, almost close to a divinity. Probably why the students treated Luna as she were some kind of goddess.

However, when the man locked eyes with Shiki, he could already tell that his golden eyes was too vibrant and alot different than to Luna.

Who was he? Why was he worried for Luna? He acted as if he knows that something will happen to her? And it did, an unconscious Luna was returned to them.

Dizian stood in a dim room, there was no source of light only the one seeping from the closed curtain slits.

Sob. Sob. Sob.

He had been hearing such sobs since earlier. Dizian looked at the trembling lump on the bed. Heaving a long deep sigh.

The room was big, but depressing and compelling. Shattered glass can be seen all over the marble floor. Shards of vases and broken woods of chairs.

He heard a mumble from the bed.

"No, it can't be true, no, no, no..."

All Dizian could do was watch in distraught.

When the scenario change, it took him in this very room. But it was still being tarnish by the person sobbing unceasingly on the bed.

Her parents, the maids, and even the familiar boy in his class couldn't stop her rage. They couldn't stop her from tarnishing her room.

'So this is what Rinalyn had gone through after that incident huh?'

He approached the bed as he sat next to her. He would comfort her if he could but he couldn't, all he can do was to watch her suffer. There was nothing else for him to do.

"It's not true... I'm not a monster....I'm not—!"

Rinalyn suddenly got up opening her lamp which made Dizian to be startled. She run through the broken mirror as she looked at herself horrified.

Her appearance has been corrupted. Black marks has been spreading throughout her left hand, until it had reach her brows. The white of her eyes was now dark. Her hands beginning to darken as sharp nails started to grow. Tears that was supposedly to be transparent was now in a bloody color.

"I'm... I'm...a Monster...I'm a monster...—!" She kept on muttering, She then suddenly smashed the mirror as blood trickled from her hand, wailing in anguish.

"Aaaahhhh!!!"

Her anguished scream resonated through out the dim room.

She continuously smashed the mirror, feigning ignorance to the boiling pain in her hands that was now pricked with small glass shards.

Drip. Drip. Drip

Unceasingly drops of blood had made the broken mirror tainted. The banging stopped, as well as Rinalyn's voice has becoming a faint groan.

The sudden silence carried a solicitude atmosphere, that made Dizian to stood from the bed.

His ears perks as he heard a shard being  scraped into the marble floor. Dizian gulped as he slowly turned back. His eyes then widen, perplexed when he saw Rinalyn grabbed a glass shard as she raised it slightly pointing it to her neck, hands trembling. Smiling, as unceasingly drops of bloody tears stream down to her cheeks.
