Chapter Fifteen :

Without hesitating Dray had ran towards where Nephenia stood unmoving and facing the hideous beast. As Dray got closer to the weird beast, he realized that the beast was without eyes and nose... " Why Don't you take someone your own size?" he asked luring the beast
away from Nephenia. The beast turned to face him and so did Nephenia. " Neph"

" Go hide somewhere and only come out when I am done with this blind beast" he called out

But as he looked towards where Neph was standing he saw that she was just staring into thin air, unmoving. ' That Face....' " Neph...." He was interrupted. The beast had charged in, hitting him with its tail. Sending him flying backwards till he hit the ground. ' I hope she's okay ' He thought. The beast made weird noises and charged in again towards Dray. At that moment Dray knew he had to focus on the battle afront him or else it will be him who might end up being dead. He took a last glance at Nephenia before taking a fighting stance. Dray dodged the beast's blow and turned immediately facing the beast, while he unsheated the sword. ' It's time to face you' he said inwardly as he charged towards the beast. Dray charged towards the beast swinging his sword as he striked the beast with full force.....

Clang!!!!

The sound of metal hitting metal could be heard.....

Dray was sent flying back..

This time he had hit his back on a tree with full force, making the leaves fall on him.



" Wasn't expecting that "

Dray said groaning in pain.



The monster which had picked up his noise charged towards Dray again, swinging it's scaly tail towards him.


Dray had dodged the strike narrowly and the monster tail had struck the tree.... sending the upper part of the tree flying faraway.




" Wheeew, that was meant for me" he said sighing relievedly.




The monster swung its tail blindly in the same direction as Dray....


' How do I attack now when his body is super strong' he thought inwardly dodging the blind monster's attack.



Since the monster was a blind one and Dray had stopped making noises, it was finding it hard to strike its target.


Dray kept dodging the monster's strikes when he noticed movement from faraway.


He looked at the direction where the movement was being made and there he saw Nephenia....


She pointed towards the monster then towards her head and then made some funny gestures, then fell flat to the ground.



' What's she do...'


A smile had appeared on his face.



' Smart Ass '



Looking at the beast, he had figured out what Nephenia was trying to tell him..




He had noticed that the best had green scaly skins from the neck down to its legs .


It's head region was left out, it wasn't scaly but was also green in colour.


He was so engrossed in fighting the best that he hadn't even observed how the beast was, he had only figured the beast senses.


And in so doing he had no idea where its weak point was located.





At that moment he had remembered what his father had told him, while he was younger.



" To defeat your Opponent, you need to observe and know where he seems weak...once you you've figured it out, you strike"


He remembered what his father had told him and realised that he had done the exact opposite of what his father had told him.



Dray turned to face the blind monster which was already swinging it tails at every direction, moving away from where Dray initially stood.



" Hey Blind Lizard "


" Come get me"



The monster turned towards where the voice had came from and charged forward, this time faster.


' It seems you want to get things done fast, I too want the same thing'


Dray sidestepped and the monster had hit the thin air.


Immediately Dray charged in towards the monster, wearing a smile.


He knew he was going to defeat this monster soon.




As he got closer to the blind monster, he whirled in the air and then made a flip holding firmly into his sword as he swung it towards the monster's head.


The sound of something rolling on the floor could be heard followed by a heavy thud.



The blind monster could be seen lying lifelessly on the floor with its head separated from it's body.




Dray smile grew wider.



" Neph, you can come out now your plan worked "

Dray said towering over the dead monster's body, placing his hands on his hips.


He got no response.



" Nephenia?"

He called out worriedly.



" Neph?"


' Had something happened? '


' Was I so caught up in the fight with the blind monster that something else had attacked her? '


His happiness had turned to sadness as different thoughts crossed his mind as what might have happened.

' I need to go find...'



WHACK!


Dray had fell to the ground as he drifted in and out of consciousness.


His visions had become blurry.


He could only see a blurry figure towering over him.


" I am sorry Dray but I had to this....don't worry you will be back up in no time"


He could hear Nephenia as her voice began to fade slowly and his visions became blurry.
< " But What....."


He had become unconscious and passed out.

Nephenia just stood there watching her brother who she had rendered unconscious, she had waited patiently for him to kill the beast before she had attacked him knowing that he will be weak by then.

'atleast even if I couldn't defeat him in a spar, I can now' she thought

'Now how I do I get him home'
