Entry #0003
Dear Journal,
I noticed myself standing on an empty street. When I looked around, I realized that I was in an abandoned city. The place was so silent. Only my nervous heart and my heavy breathing were what I could hear. This was different from my usual dreams. They were bright. This seemed dark.
I saw my own reflection on the glass wall of a cafe, not too far from my right side. I was shocked to know that I was wearing my uniform back in high school. It was white buttoned shirt with a black long necktie covered with black long-sleeved coat, matched with black mini-skirt, white long socks, and black shoes. Looking like a black lady ghost with my black waist-length hair, I frowned.
After a few more seconds of waiting, nothing happened. Normally, my dream starts whenever I appear. Out of confusion in thinking what was wrong, I kicked the trash can beside the sheet with my right foot. It hit the wall of the cafe. The garbage scattered. Since the impact was too strong, it created a loud sound that even echoed.
All of sudden, sounds of gritting teeth, running steps, and shouts of hungry beasts were heard. These sounds were coming closer. I tried to stop myself from looking but, it was too late. My eyes widened upon seeing the zombies who were approaching me. There were lots of them. The sight was very bloody and horrifying! Most of them had some of their limbs cut off.
"This dream is hell," I whispered to myself. They ran so, I had no another choice but to run away. I knew that it was just a dream—no, a nightmare—but still, I ran away for my life. Non-stop running was all what I did for several minutes. Luckily, I was faster than them. I took a glance behind. I could no longer see them so, I stopped and breathed deeply.
My footsteps brought me in front of a building. It was also our school campus back in high school. The only difference was that instead of being filled with students, this one seemed haunted.
Only that time, the fact that I went inside the forest sank in my mind. I was scared to go inside but, I had to. It was the only building here.
Gladly, I calmed down when a guy held my hand and dragged me. If not, I would definitely shout. He was also wearing the same uniform of my school.
We went upstairs until we reached the rooftop. He closed the door and locked it up with iron chains and padlock.
"We are safe here," he said as he faced me.
I held my breath out of shock. 'How come an unfamiliar face be present in my dream? This never happened before,' I thought. However, the possibility that I knew him in reality but I had forgotten was there.
His forehead creased and asked, "Why are you shocked?"
"What is your name?" It was almost a whisper. I was not planning on asking him that but, it came out accidentally. Maybe, I really wanted to confirm something.
Instead of being confused more because of my sudden question, he did the opposite. He smiled and slowly shook his head. "Do not ever ask about it," he said, "It might hurt you."
