Chapter 02

"Goodbye, Miss Earl. Goodbye, my love. Goodbye, my past." Darren's low voice combined with a deep and long gaze before walking away from the towering building that written, Happy Wedding Leo-Earl.

--

"Please, sir." Said Dante as he opened the car door.

"Where's the car key?"

Without much questioning, Dante directly handed it into Darren's hands. "Here, sir."

Darren then picked up a few dollar bills and then handed them to Dante.

Dante immediately turned his gaze.

"Sir, what is this money for?"

"Taxi fare."

Short, concise, and clear. Those were the words that slid from Darren's firm lips. At the same time, the Bugatti Veyron drove at high speed, leaving the area that had made Darren's soul torn apart.

Who knew how long he had been splitting the centre of London. What was clear was that there was absolutely no intention to stop or return.

Some people might think that Darren Ewald Gilbert has gone mad. Yes, that's true. The man who held the title of a billionaire has lost his mind due to the broken heart he felt.

Not willing to release his madness by circling downtown for the umpteenth time, he directed the Bugatti Veyron towards a club.

He drove the car at high speed until he heard a screeching sound. Even so, he totally ignored it. For now, Darren no longer cared about his own safety. His reunion with Calista had drowned common sense. What Darren needed right now was he released the pain.

"Arrgghh," He screamed in frustration as he hit his hand on the steering wheel. Starting from that, the car he was driving had lost its balance. Unfortunately, the car's speed was out of control due to the sudden movement that made him step on the gas pedal.

Inevitably, the front of his Bugatti Veyron was severely damaged after hitting a large tree.

"Shittttt," He cursed while banging his elbow on the car door.

"Arrgghh, why don't you just take my life, huh? Why God? Why? Answer me!"

His scream was shrouded in pain. Anyone who heard it could definitely feel how broken Darren Ewald Gilbert was.

Inescapably, tears rolled down his cheeks. Maybe some people thought that a man who shed tears was weak. However, this assumption was totally wrong. A man's tears strongly illustrated that he was at the lowest point in his life.

Darren Ewald Gilbert's fate was truly tragic. He was a handsome, wealthy, successful entrepreneur to get the title of a billionaire. However, the fact that he was firmly attached to him couldn't make his beloved woman stay by his side.

In fact, the woman he loved so profoundly had chosen her past love. The love that had betrayed her so cruelly.

Yes, it couldn't be helped but let it be. As a helpless servant like this, what could he do? He could do nothing but let her and surrender to the situation. Loving and being loved was not based on coercion but instead on sincerity.

The corner of his eye repeatedly glanced from the rearview mirror, waiting for Kenzie as his confidant.

"Shittt, is this street too hard to find, huh? You are an idiot! Useless!" He cursed at himself because he was alone.

Not long ago, what he had been waiting for had already shown up. He immediately knocked on the car window, revealing a handsome face with a stiff jaw.

"I'm sorry, sir." Said Kenzie while bending over.

"Is this street too hard for you to find, huh?" His snarls combined with a look as blazing as the devil Lucifer's eyes when he was about to devour his enemies.

Kenzie said nothing but a word of apology.

Darren was disgusted by Kenzie's attitude, and it plunged him into a rage.

Inescapably, he gave a crushing blow so that his confidant's temple was bleeding fresh.

"That's a special reward for your incompetent work!"

Kenzie didn't answer except for responding to his master's anger by lowering his face.

"Where is the car key?!" Darren shouted until the sound of his screams was deafening.

Kenzie immediately handed the car key into Darren's hands without much questioning.

Before Darren walked away from there, the corner of his eye glanced at the badly damaged Bugatti Veyron. Not a single word that accompanied the movement of his firm lips. Even so, Kenzie knew exactly what his master meant.

"Alright, sir. I'll sort out the mess." Said Kenzie while glancing at the Bugatti Veyron. After that, his gaze shifted as before. Unfortunately, his master was no longer there.

'Mr Darren, are you human or devil, huh? He disappeared quickly.' Kenzie cursed in her heart.

Not wanting to be splashed with mercury for the umpteenth time, he immediately carried out his master's order. Meanwhile, the master seemed to have turned the car towards his favourite club.

The officers on guard rushed over and opened the car door, serving the arrival of the billionaire.

"Good evening, Mr Gilbert." They greeted Darren with respect.

Unfortunately, the one who was called didn't respond at all. Let alone a faint smile curved on his lips, he even refused to glance.

After wrapping his blue eyes with black glasses, he immediately got out of the car, which made his handsomeness more than double. He then threw the car key at the bodyguards to park the Bugatti Veyron in its proper place.

No doubt, the arrival of Darren to this club immediately made the beautiful women scream hysterically. They competed with each other to toss the body between his burly arms. Unfortunately, wishful thinking was just a dream when the billionaire seemed to ignore them.

For tonight, Darren just wanted to be alone without the distractions of the women who seemed crazy about him. In fact, what they were crazy about was not Darren alone but something dazzling that lingered deep within him.

Unfortunately, there was one stone-headed woman, Merry Qarrshicx, who would not stay away from his side. Merry was still clinging like a fly. Even without a moment's hesitation, she curled her long fingers between his brawny arms.

Disgusted was the only word describing how Darren felt to be spoiled by this shameless woman.

"Keep your hands off, and don't force me to be rude, Miss."

"Uh, my lord, Gilbert. What you're saying sounds like a lot of fun. Don't make me fantasize wildly imagining your burly body..."

"Stop!" Darren hissed with wide eyes.

"Buzz off, or you'd rather receive a gift from me. A special gift that you must have never thought of before, Miss." He growled along with an evil smile.

Unfortunately, Merry was too naive to seem to ignore. To be close to the billionaire was a rare opportunity, and an opportunity like that should not be missed.
