Chapter 22

Kenzie's explanation made it hard for Austin to breathe to the point that exhaling was like swallowing poison.

--

Austin felt his breath at the end, faced with the fact that Darren's condition had drastically declined. His eyes darkened as dark as the colour of blood. He wanted to avenge the woman who had caused the man whom he loved like his own brother to lie in a hospital bed in a coma.

However, he couldn't do that. After all, Darren loved this woman more than his own life.

"You idiot! How can a great man like you fall to such a despicable woman, huh?" Austin grumbled, raising his hand against the wall that fresh blood seeped through between his fingers.

His chest heaved up and down in anger. "Didn't I warn you long ago that this woman is not loyal? She is a lowly woman who is blinded by her pathetic ex-lover." He growled with both hands tightly clenched together with blazing eyes.

Austin could not stand his patience, who was increasingly suffocating when he looked at the door that was still tightly closed. "Why did the doctors take so long in there? What are they doing?" He growled again.

"You'd better sit down and be patient, sir. The doctors will certainly do their best." Kenzie tried to calm Austin.

"That's what you said. The truth is Daren's condition is deteriorating." Austin banged his hand on the door. No doubt, his attitude had provoked the security guard's reaction to approach him.

"This is a hospital, don't make a fuss!" The security snapped.

Austin's blood was boiling as he did not like being yelled at by a lowly person. His jaws hardened, her face tightened, and his lips formed a straight line.

"What did you just say? Say it again!" He growled, accompanied by the sound of his teeth chattering.

The security immediately put on a fierce face. "Don't make a fuss. This is a hospital, so watch your attitude. Don't disturb the comfort of the other patients."

The sentence that had just come out freely made Austin's anger even more uncontrollable. He then gripped the security guard's neck so tightly that his eyes bulged as if they almost jumped out of its place.

"A little mouse like you has the nerve to yell at me, Austin Matthew Bolthon?!" He slammed the security's muscular body to the floor and then kicked him so hard that he vomited fresh blood.

Meanwhile, Kenzie, who was not far from there, became a loyal spectator. He shook his head too. "You arrogant bastard!" He hissed.

He let Austin beat up the security. Even though other security guards approached, no one could help. Everyone who was there was just watching.

The noise Austin was causing had disturbed the comfort of the other patients. No doubt the doctor in the ICU was forced to leave and then shouted.

Not liking to be yelled at had made Austin's gaze turn bright. His firm steps were approaching, combined with a blazing gaze.  Austin's expression made the doctor's body shiver with fear.

"What did you say, huh? Say it again!" He snapped, accompanied by the sound of his teeth chattering.

The doctor's body was shaking so severely that one hand was holding on to the door to support his body's weight.

"Listen to me, Mr Austin. The chaos you made has disturbed our works to save Mr Gilbert."

Hearing the doctor's complaint had made his emotions subside a little. Besides that, he also didn't want anything wrong to happen to Darren.

Austin then repeatedly rubbed his face roughly while the doctor just glared at him.

"Sorry for the mess. How is Mr Gilbert?"

"Mr Gilbert is still under the doctor's care. I beg you to calm down, so don't interfere with the examination. Please hold on to your emotions!" His voice was full of emotion, and at the same time, he slammed the door shut.

The doctor no longer cared about Austin, who was showering him with scornful eyes. "You arrogant man!" The doctor cursed.

This time, Darren's examination took a very long time. Meanwhile, Austin was worried. The man was like a hot worm, so he walked back and forth with his chin up.

"Shittt, you useless doctors! What the hell are they doing there? Just checking, but it took so long." He growled by banging his hand on the door.

Not long after, the door opened, revealing the doctors with an expressionless face, so Austin couldn't guess what the doctor was thinking.

"How is Mr Gilbert? Tell me!" His question was filled with high arrogance.

Unfortunately, the doctor did not immediately answer. The man still chose to remain silent. And of course, this has eroded Austin's patience so that he threw a tantrum. "

Are your ears deaf, huh? Tell me quickly, how is Mr Gilbert's condition?!"

"Come to my room!"

Short, concise, clear, that was the sentence that slipped from the doctor's lips.

Austin growled as his footsteps followed the doctor. Kenzie, who smelled violence, rushed to follow him behind.

"Why did you come here, huh?" Austin snapped at Kenzie.

The asked one put on a normal expression. "Of course, listen to the doctor's explanation, sir."

"Get out! Austin shouted until the sound of his yelling echoed throughout the room. No doubt, his attitude had made the owner of the room furious.

"If you can't calm down, you'd better go OUT!" The doctor snapped in a high voice.

Austin remained silent, so was Kenzie. Both of them sat down, listening carefully to the doctor's explanation.

Kenzie was worried that Austin couldn't hold his emotions, and his worry was true. Austin's emotion was provoked by the doctor's explanation that didn't match his expectations.

"If Mr Gilbert's condition dropped drastically, then why are you here, huh?" He snapped, pounding the table.

No doubt, the doctor was surprised by Austin's attitude, which was full of high arrogance.

"You better calm down, Mr Austin. We, doctors at the hospital, will do our best for Mr Gilbert."

"Will? You said you will, huh?" He snapped with his eyes widened.

"Mr Gilbert dropped drastically. you supposedly act fast!"

"We have done our best."

Hearing the doctor's denial made Austin's gaze increasingly darkening as dark as the colour of blood.

"Tch, if you guys have done your best, the patient's condition will not go down drastically."

The doctor seemed to open his mouth to say something, but his movements were interrupted by a grip on the collar of his shirt.

"Mr Gilbert's condition will be worth this." Austin smiled, grinning as he lifted his muscular body up.

No doubt, his actions had made the doctor's eyeballs almost jump out of their place.

Not wanting to cause more chaos, Kenzie rushed to intervene by pushing Austin's body. Kenzie's presumptuous actions made the burly body stagger backwards.

The doctor coughed. He felt that his breath was at the end.

Realising this, Kenzie immediately helped him up.

"Are you okay, doc?" Kenzie then handed him a glass of water.

"You're going to pay a very high price for your bravado, Kenzie." Austin snapped, slamming the door behind him so hard it made a thumping sound.
