Chapter 2

My vision was swimming and I was kinda trying hard to ignore an irking tapping sensation.

I seemed to float in a kind of illusion and the piercing sound of something filled my head.

The tapping sensation didn't fade instead it got stronger and stronger and more irritating.

I snapped my eyes open and glared at the person responsible for my harsh irritation.

I blinked confused as I looked around my surrounding.

"Umm, I'm still on a plane. How am I still on a plane?" I tried to reconnect what I thought to what I saw.

"Are you alright?" A concerned voice made my turn and stare.

"Where am I?" I blotted confused.

"On a plane...to America" my neighbor answered raising his eyebrows ever so slightly at my probably weird behavior.

"On a plane, I didn't board a plane, did I?. A plane to.... Wait a minute, hold-up, freeze, park, pull-over, a plane to America?. We are not yet in America?"

"No, but we'll soon be in about fifteen minutes" my neighbor couldn't help the amused smirk that graced his lips.

"Weird, really weird. How long does it usually take to catch a flight from Spain to the US, it can't be that long. I mean, they do say, flight is the fastest means of transportation nowadays" I rambled on crazily.

"What? You talk like you have seen a lot of centuries but you look like twenty-three ... twenty-four" The guy next to me coughed trying to hide his laughter.

"Never mind, you won't understand"

I waved dismissively and buckled my seatbelt.

A few seconds later, the pilot's voice sounded on the speakers.

"Buckle up people, we're going to take a bumpy landing"

The air hostess moved around ensuring people were strapped in before heading to their seats at the back of the plane and strapping in.

I leaned back and tried to get comfortable as the plane slowly descended into the runway.

"How long have I been asleep?" I curiously turned to my neighbor.

He studied me with his brown eyes that were half covered with the bangs of his soft brown hair.

"For so long" he commented still looking amused.

"Okay? On a scale of one to ten, how long should it be?"

"Fifteen should be the most accurate" he spoke before giving me a lopsided grin.

I stared at him confused.

"I'll explain since you don't remember. When I entered, you were already asleep. You slept all the way through the minor hitch in our flight plus all the way to America. Is either your stress level is way too high or you just have a thing to do with sleep"

"I've just been excited that I missed sleep on several occasions. So this hitch thingy, I'm guessing it took what... twenty minutes to solve, right?"

The guy close to me threw his head backwards and laughed attracting all the passengers' attention.

"The minor hitch took about three to four hours" he chuckled a little as I looked even more confused.

"How does a hitch that takes three to four hours be regarded as minor?"

"Because a major hitch would delay your flight until sometime next week"

"So I slept three to four hours during the hitch and then several hours from Spain to America"

"Yes. I have never seen anything like it" he added dramatically.

They stopped talking as the plane stopped and the door snapped open.

Carrying my luggage bag, I proceeded to leave the plane.

I inhaled the slightly cold air and stretched my aching legs before heading into the airport terminal.

I looked around hoping to find Kelvin.

"I remember how he looks like from the picture but will I remember him when I see him" I mused.

"Umm, excuse me?" I turned startled as a hand tapped on my shoulder.

I let out a breath when I saw the guy with his brown hair and eyes.

"Is everything alright?"

"Yes, it is. I was wondering what you were doing here. This is not the place to wait for whoever's coming for you, it's that place. This is for people that are leaving to another country"

"Ohh, thanks. I didn't get your name by the way" I spoke as I followed him to the airport's entrance.

"I'm Felix" he spoke as he smiled.

"I'm Selene"

A red Corvette stopped few paces away and the door opened.

A classy yet sexy woman hopped down and ran to hug Felix.

"I've missed you so much" she purred.

"Let go of me you oaf!" He tried to push her away but her grip around him was so tight that after a while of trying, he gave up.

"Okay? Are you satisfied now?"

"How can you say that, didn't you miss me?" She sniffed dramatically and I sighed.

It took about three seconds for it to register in my slow brain that they were looking at me.

"Who is this, Felix?" The classy woman spoke.

"This is my newest friend Selene" I waved a shy hand.

"Hi, you look new here" she smiled as spoke.

"Actually I'm new here or maybe I'm not new here, I don't know. It must be something about the weather..." I rambled on again.

"Tropical girls and a thing for our weather" Felix sniggered.

I shot him the dirtiest glare I? could manage at the time being and Felix burst out laughing.

"I like you" the classy woman spoke while Felix was clutching his stomach, laughing.

"You're the first woman to make him laugh like this in several years" she smiled at me warmly.

"Aren't you jealous?" I asked puzzled.

"Jealous?" She raised her eyebrow subtly.

"Yes, you know. What girlfriends do when their man laughs more with another woman than them or spends more time with another woman than them"

The woman burst out laughing followed by Felix and I just stood there looking completely lost.

"I'm his sister not his girlfriend, silly. I don't know who would want to be this pipsqueak's girlfriend" the classy woman managed to squeak out from all her laughter, lightly nudging Felix in the ribs

I froze then smiled sheepishly.

"Hey, all my friends say I'm quite a charmer" Felix grinned.

"My bad" I apologized sincerely, with that they were laughing again.

A beep and classy woman stops laughing.

She pulls her expensive phone, scrolls through her message and then frowns.

"We got to go back Felix. Dad's asking where we are now"

"That old man and his meddling affairs"

Felix growled annoyed.

Classy woman stuck out her tongue as she pulled Felix's luggage to the back of her car and dumped it there.

"I'm guessing you're rich or wealthy, then why didn't you fly with your private jet or something?" I asked curiously.

The corners of Felix's lips lifted in a smile.

"I was on my way to my private jet like you said before I saw you go towards the terminal exit so I followed, I heard and watched you book your flight and pick a seat so I decided; heck, screw my comfy jet, I'm going to ride with you. But it took hours to process my passport and stuff and when I entered the plane to talk to you, you were already asleep. I'm still glad that I managed to talk to you in the end"

I looked at him complexly.

"You're kidding right?"

"No" Felix smiled at me, his hands in his pocket as he kicked the mini rocks at his feet.

"You left a comfy jet to board a hot overcrowded plane, not really hot and overcrowded plane, just to talk to me?"

"Yes. Does it sound stupid?"

"Yes, yes it does"

"That's okay with me. It doesn't have to make sense" the smile was still there and the glowing sunset made his brown irises look molten, almost like molten chocolate.

A horn sounded and they turned.

"A minute" he said to classy woman, who just smirked knowingly.

"I know but please hurry up" she called back.

"I know that it's kinda inappropriate given the circumstances of our meeting and the duration of our talks but can I please have your number?" He kicked the rocks at his feet again and bit his knuckles.

"Umm, I don't know. Mother said not to give my number to strangers" I teased a little.

"It's okay, I won't bug or anything. It's just...well...I really want to continue our talks and I won't have a way of I don't have your number or you have mine"

I smiled naughtily.

"I was just teasing you, here is my number"

He copied the number and saved it on his phone before smiling and heading towards the red Corvette, he paused then gestured me over.

"I'm going to call you tomorrow, okay?"

"Yeah. Bye Felix, bye umm, er..." I stumbled for words as I glanced at classy woman.

"Rose. I'm Rose"

"Bye Rose"

With that the red Corvette sped down the road but I could still feel Felix's gaze on me until it turned disappearing left.

A white Ford's pick-up truck pulled over to my left and out jumped a young man who looked surprisingly like me.

He was tanned and huge like someone who went to the gym regularly.

With the same black hair like mine and blue eyes but he looked nothing like his voice spoke, he spoke slowly almost like he was tired but he looked so strong.

His gaze locked with mine and he grinned then walked over.
