Ruby's words in Ethan's ears were like daggers, she hated the fact that the lady had to lie to him. Like seriously, he could accept everything coming from this lady, but when it has to do with lies telling, he was not an advocate for that shit, and he was clearly going to make his point clear over and over.

As if controlled by the fact that the lady had lied to him, Ethan slapped her across the face and the effect was that she burst out crying immediately after the slap fell on her face.
