Chapter 4

MAXXPAIN ELEANOR

I woke up in the morning to the call of a voice from outside my room. I have not opened my eyes yet because I am still drowsy and still very tired.

Who is calling, anyway?

"Madam Maxxpain, please wake up. You might be late for class!"

I was able to get up when the voice made it clear to me. I looked to my right and stared at the alarm clock on the study table.

Oh my gosh! It's late!

I hurried to the bathroom to take a shower and clean up. While I was bathing, I remembered everything that happened yesterday.

By the way, I was scheduled to get married. Kendy also told me that on the weekend, we would go out to buy my wending gown and so on.

I sighed deeply. Only now do I realize that everything I found out yesterday is really true and not just a dream.

After I took a bath and got dressed, I went downstairs and went straight to the dining room. I looked around when I could not see Kendy. The servants seemed to notice my distraction so they approached me after they laid out the food for my breakfast.

"Eat, Madam so you can go to school."

I smiled at her and sat in the chair just in front of me. I was not too surprised when I saw so much food in front of me.

"Where is Kendy? Is he still asleep?"

The maid shook her head to me. "No. He left earlier because he worked early in the office. He told you to eat a lot so that you can be more active in class."

I was offended by what the maid said. From what Kendy says my grades seem to be low because I am not very active in my class. I adjusted the mirror slowly lowering to the bridge of my nose.

"I'm sorry, but I've lost my appetite. I'll just have breakfast at school."

I got up and was about to leave when I looked at the food and the five servants next to me. Because of what I said, they quietly arranged the food without even touching it.

I suddenly felt guilty. Surely, these helpers also woke up early just to make me something to eat this morning. I took a deep breath and went back to my seat. Then I looked at the servants.

"I'm going to eat here, but I want you to eat with me."

All the helpers looked at me because of what I said.

"I'm sorry, Madam. We are not allowed to eat with you." They all bowed to me out of respect.

Meanwhile, my eyebrows met because of what they indicated.

"Your boss isn't here, is he? He won't know you ate with me. Tss."

I looked at the door of the dinning room when two black men entered. They stopped next to me and at the same time, bowed to me.

"Madam, you need to hurry so you can go to your school. We will both take you there."

Because of what they both said, I was even more frustrated. I crossed my two hands and then faced them.

"Since you two are already here, join me for breakfast. I will not go to school if you do not grant my request."

They were all silent at what I said. Heh. They will not win over me.

A few minutes later, I heard the sigh of the two men so a smile came out of my lips. A man motioned to all the servants with me to sit down next to me. The other two men sat in front of me.

"Let's eat, Madam."

I still couldn t get my smile out when I nodded at him. It's easy to talk to them.

As I entered my classroom, my friend Raelynn immediately greeted me. She pulled me towards our seat. When we sat down, she then turned in my direction. I felt nervous because of her actions.

Does she already know anything about marriage? How did she know?

I can t help but think about the guys who pick me up today at school. Now that I remember, I did not know the names of those men and the maids in the house.

"Maxxpain?"

The nervousness I was feeling returned when I heard my friend's voice. I smiled at her and look at her.

"Just like what I guess, you don't really listen to me. I asked earlier what you did in the Principal's office yesterday."

I breathed a sigh of relief. I thought she already knew about marriage. I have no plans to tell her about it especially to mention the name of the person I will marry. I don't know how she will react to what she knows. I let out a wide smile on her face. I just hope she doesn t see the real emotion hidden in my smile.

"Don't worry because nothing bad happened. She just ordered me something."

Raelynn stared at me and seemed to be scanning if I was telling the truth. Fortunately, our professor came in so we could not talk again.

A few minutes later our professor followed the man whom Raelynn and I saw yesterday in the cafeteria. I raised an eyebrow as I looked at him. To my recollection, his name was Escanor Kennedy. He is really my classmate?

I pretended to adjust my mirror when I saw him turn in my direction.

"I'm sorry, I'm late."

The professor did not react to him. It didn't seem to care when he arrived. Why was I scolded when I was late for class before? Tss.

He looked around. Then he walked in my direction. It was as if I was a statue in my seat when he stopped in front of me.

"I hope you don't mind if I sit next to you. Thank you."

I could no longer answer him because he was sitting directly next to me. The class continued while my friend simply kicked me. I turned to Raelynn and saw the teasing smile on her lips.
