Chapter 47 Gone Boy

Daylight crept into the room, pulling Marcus from the most decent slumber he'd had in months. He moved slowly to get out of bed without waking Julianna, and silently crept towards the door.

Once he was safely in the hallway, he made his way downstairs to grab his morning hot chocolate and a bagel or something for breakfast. However once he got to the bottom, he felt a cold breeze sweep through. His head snapped up and he saw that the front door was wide open.

Unsure of exactly how long the door had been open, he stepped out onto the porch and peered around for any sign that someone had been there. Though nothing was wrong as far as he could see. He took note that the front gate was wide open also, but dismissed it quickly since the previous night had been ridiculously windy.
