Chapter 12 Truth & Lies

Necro and Lady had left Nova to talk alone.

"Look I m not the hero of this story Nova is but in my story I m the villain, now it s up to me to make sure that it ends." said Necro.

"I don t understand." said Lady

"I ve been here long enough to know how things work and Magic has been held in the hands of the corrupt guild who have been trying to stop the Necromancers." said Necro "But everything I have done is not what people see as good and I never will, even after I ve done my duty but that s what has to be done to to secure safety of magic."

"What duty."

"My duty to take down everyone that tries to horde and control magic, and if I have to do it alone so bit it, but Nova can not know."

Lady just hugged him not wanting to go it alone.

They returned to the throne room and Nova was quite happy on her new throne.

"Nova." said Necro.

She turned to see her good friend.

"I think we should be going." he said.

"No wait." she came to his side. "I don t know what I m doing, I need your help to rule the kingdom."

Necro was unsure, but as he was going over all his options, how far would he go, as compared to how far he had come.

"Don t worry." said Lady jumping in.

Necro was unsure on what she was doing.

"We just need to head out." she continued.

"Why." asked Nova unsure for their departure.

"There s one thing I need to do first." said Necro.

"Yes, we need to get are stuff." interjected Lady.

"Exactly, it will take a lot move everything back here." said Necro, knowing it to be true.

"I ll help." said Nova as she flew off.

"I ll catch up." said Lady.

Necro morphed in to a dragon and flew away after Nova, unsure how to do what he wanted now, he had gone to far to turn back.

Out side at the gate Nova was waiting for a portal to be opened, as Necro landed and changed form before he opened the gate to the rock, the grass peered though the jagged black rock as if it had been there all along.

"Great I ll get started." smiled Nova passing over.

She was so excited about her new family life being bale to keep her new friends and still visit her family back home, but she didn t see Necro as and carved a new gate to the Guild s Necromancer tower over the one to the stone. He stepped in and was about to close it when he heard a call.

"Wait, what are you doing?" called Lady coming up behind him.

She had just seen the switch and her fear for Nova was swelling. Necro spun around as she walked though the gate.

"What are you doing, you ve trapped Nova." Panicked Lady

"The other gate will remain open, Nova can get back and fourth as long as no other gate is in use." he said as the gate closed behind him.

"What are we even doing her?" asked Lady.

"I told you to destroy."

"So why are we inside."

"There are things here in the vault."

"Like what,

"I ll show you." he said as he strode off.

As they moved in to the schools hall Necro made an effort to help Lady understand his reasoning.

"Miss Bella refuses to keep anything dangerous, or what she deems useful in one of the Necromancy classrooms, as they stopped being used when the necromancers broke off."

"What kind of useful items?"

"Anything from magic zapping trinkets to death defying jewellery."

Lady was still uneasy as they moved towards the class rooms.

As they waked though the guilds the halls changed colours it fit a more basic stone used for the school. As they came in to hall with the class rooms, they entered the same one where Nova had been given the ring and enactment.

"What are we doing in here?" asked Lady looking around. "This isn t the vault."

Necro walked up to the chalk broad. "She keeps a stash of them in here."

He pulled it down and dug his hand in to take all that was stashed inside plugging it in to his rode.

"Maybe no one knows about it?" Wondered Lady.

"That s the point but Miss Bella has them where anyone can take them, and she uses them her self." he insisted "Look magic is power and power does not corrupt people but people corrupt power."

Lady was finding her siding with him more and more, unaware of the truth.

"Come on the vault is where will find the rest." he said making for the door.

As they where walking the halls towards he vault, someone was coming alone that recognised Necro, and Necro recognized him.

"Hay there buddy." he said coming over.

"Nice to see you again." Necro, smiled back, wishing he would leave.

"How long has it been?"

"I don t know."

"I haven't seen you in, must be about twenty years."

"Where does the time go."

"What brings you back to the halls?"

"I m the new Necromancy guild head."

"Well student to head in twenty years, that s more the what I ve done."

Lady interjected. "Uh what is it you do here?"

"Me, oh I in charge of security, it s one of the few position's under the guild heads, it lest me go every where, pretty sweet really."

"Is that so." said Lady.

"Yeah."

"Do you know where the vault is kept."

"Vault, what vault?" he asked.

"Sorry, I must be confused."

"Okay well, it was nice seeing you again, catch you later." he said moving on.

"You to." Necro. said as he swiftly tried to move on.

But Lady was not having it, she grabbed him by his cloak and forced him to turn to face her.

"Your lying." she snarled.

"I don t know what you mean." he protested.

"You told me that you lived for years, then I just heard you where her no more then twenty years ago."

"Ah yes, that well."

"What s going on? What aren t you telling me."

Necro pulled himself away and three a sank down to the floor. "There s no easy way of telling you this."

"What do you mean."

"I ve lied for to you about so much since we met."

"Like what."

"My past."

"My family didn t work on a farm, I was born with my powers, as Necromancers had kids only to increase there power as a group, but other people can be born with the power." he sighed.

"Go on."

"I grew up under my grand father the head Necromancer his family name is Tomb, the Necromancer with the king was my father." he said as a tear rolled down his face thinking back.

"Why should I believe you." she protested.

"You saw how he was, he never harmed me, and hated to see me in pain."

Lady was shocked but was still negative about it.

"He like me knows first hand they where corporate, and thinking their was no escape, and left me with my grandfather to find place to live away from are family."

Lady bent down to comfort Necro as the tares started to unpack.

"I came here to get away from the corruption and trained here, after I left I took on the name and abandoned my family and everything that came with it."

Lady was so sad as she saw the sorrow in his eyes.

"But my feelings to you are true." he said looking in to her eyes "And everything I ve done has been for are safety, I m here to insure that we re safe."

Lady bowed her head crying.

"I m sorry." he said standing up."

"I ve heard enough." she pleaded.

"Then it s time to go to vault."

"Why."

"That s the only secret I ll ever keep from you."

Lady took his hand knowing he would have his reasons and they moved on, they walked the halls heading the vault.

At the end of a hall way stood a brick wall alone with no doors on any of it s walls but no one ever pain it nay mind. The two arrived at the junction leading the hallway and raced down making sure no one was coming, they reached the end and met the wall.

"This is either an odd design choice or there is something here." wondered Lady.

"It s the vault, it is trapped it needs magic to stay open but if magic is cut of it closes. To make matters worse the vault is enchanted so no magic can be used inside so it acts as a trap itself."

"So how we do this."

"By killing the person who enchanted the room." said Necro. "That way their magic is no longer in effect."

"Okay so who enchanted it?" asked Lady.

"I did." said miss Bella as she came over to them. "You can stop there Necro, I can t allow you to enter."

"Why not?" he asked turning to face her.

"It s been my duty to safe guard the guild since it was founded, I won t let you undo generations of work."

"Sorry, but you gave Nova your ring." he said and with that she was gone.

Lady seemed unsure. "Wait." she said.

He looked back.

"Are you doing the right thing?" she asked.

He waved a hand to removed the bricks in the wall to revival a dark stair case leading down, Lady just grabbed his arm.

"If you don t trust me then you can leave, I won t keep you here." he said pulling himself free as he proceed to step inside.

Lady remained topside, she was shaken up unsure what to do, but she wasn't alone long, as someone else was coming in.

"What s going on?" asked the arriving necromancer.

Lady was shocked to see him, he looked like the rest dropped in dark clock hood over his head.

"Why is the vault open?" he asked.

"Uh, my college is putting something in the vault." lied Lady.

"Okay so where is Bella?" he asked.

"Uh." panicked Lady.

"She is the only one allowed to open the vault."

He put his hand up and brought her back. As she got a hold on her barrings, she saw the necromancer who brought her back was not who had killed her.

"Lady we have to stop…" she started.

But she was stopped as Necro stepped out.

"I thought I killed you." he said.

"You can t get away with this." said the Necromancer.

"Oh can t I." Necro smiled as he looked him down and made him drop dead.

"Necro wait." said miss Bella.

But she was gone before she was able to finish, Lady was unsure what to do know but before she was able to do anything, Bella came back and Necro submerged from the stair case ounce more as it closed behind him.

"We need to stop…" said Bella.

"This ends one of two ways." he butted in.

"Wait, stop." said Lady. "We should here her out."

"Why." said Necro "I ve got what I wanted."

"This will conversation will end one of two ways." said Miss Bella "You can either kill the guild or let it stand."

Necro gutted in to cut her off "And we both know how it s going to end."

She looked in to her eyes and for a fraction of a second she saw her own looking back at her.

The castle was now much more brighter and better shaped as Nova was in the throne room making minor augments with her magic. Lady walked in a blank look on her face, she had returned from the guild unsure what to make of Necro s actions.

"Your back." she smiled coming down to see her. "What s wrong."

"Nothing." she said "Just had some difficult choices to make."

"Where did you go anyway?" she asked.

"We had to pick up some things we had left at the guild."

"Okay I moved your things in to your knew room, I ll show you." she said leading her away egger to show of her work.

Lady was dragged away by Nova though the many reshaped halls.

As they reached the door to the room down one of the many halls Lady perked up as it looked familiar.

"Are you ready?" Nova asked.

"As I ll ever be." said Lady,

Nova pushed the door open, to shown off the room which held a bed the black mirror, the library and brewing stand.

"It s as if you never left." smiled Nova.

Lady was shocked to see the room she had ounce slept in reborn.

"And the best part." Nova beamed as she raced to a door on the right wall "It links to my room."

Lady looked to see now open door where a room for Nova was set up.

"The place does need some decorations but it s home." she smiled.

Lady walked over to Nova bent down and hugged her. "Don't ever change." she said crying.

Nova just hugged her back unsure why she was upset.

The two where walking back and as they arrived at the throne room they saw Necro was coming in.

"Where where you?" wondered Nova

"I had something to pick up from the guild, I ll drop it off at the vault and be with you in second." he said.

"I now that but what to you so long."

"I wanted to make sure Lady was out first wile I took care of some business."

In the depths of the castle Necro walked the deep halls in the mountain coming to two wooden doors, pulling them open he stepped inside Nova s sword was inside along with other items that where deemed to need to lock away. As he entered the room he looked around and came to a stop in the middle, empting his robes of everything he took from the hiding place at the guild. He then bent down placed atop it all the one and only thing contained within the vault, as he looked over it he stood back up and left never wanting to lay eyes on it again. Closing the doors as he left leaving it behind with the rest of his past.

In the throne room Nova was sitting on the throne with lady by her side in her chair as he walked in.

"It s a bit strange having a quite castle." said Nova.

"I can help with that." said Necro.

From the ground rose an reanimated army of people to be given a new life and care for the castle, enough to make it keep it fir for it s new royalty.

"This should help." he said "But I think we need some agricultural aid as well, don t you agree."

"What do you mean?" asked Nova.

"Necromancy also works on plants and it s a far cry from real plant life, but it will do for know, until we can get some outside help. "

"Speaking of the ground out side needs some work." added Lady.

"I can do that." smiled Nova.

"Shall we." said Necro as he walked towards the door.

Nova and Lady joined as they made their way outside.

Beyond the the castle just past the gate the three stood on the rough and deadly terrain.

"Are you ready." asked Necro.

"I was born ready." replied Nova.

Nova and Necro used there powers to reshape the ground, as they worked to move the lava flow away from the castle, they then smoothed the sharp and jagged rocks down to a more flat and smooth service. Lady watched on as the world it self was reshaped with their combined powers. After the ground had been altered the ground sprouted up plants and trees came up all over, they where dead but reanimated just the same to gibe a green glow and fell to an other wise dead land. Ounce it was all over the the ground side the ground around the castle had changed following on from the castle gate until the world around the castle was green as a garden a knew budding haven. Lady looked cold at Necro and warm at Nova, she had made her choice unsure if he had been laying to her about everything or anything.

"Shall we go inside?" asked Lady.

"Yes." smiled Necro. "We have a new kingdom to rule."

Lady turned back with Necro wile Nova lead them back though the now bustling city. As they passed the the new citizens Nova felt proud of what she was able to crate, but Necro and Lady just shared a look.

"Have you forgiven me?" he asked her.

Nova was unable to them as she was to preoccupied with her new job and role.

"No, I want to now ho much of what you told me at the guild was a lie."

They stopped.

"Everything I told you about my family was true, but my reasons for taking what I did is something I can t tell you."

"Why."

"Because I would only lie, and I refuse to do that to you again."

Lady was unsure.

"I can have Nova place a truth enactment on me and you can ask me what ever you like." he offered.

Lady was still on the fence but caved.

"So do you forgive me."

"Yes." she said.

He offered her a hand and she took it, as they walked back hand in hand.

In the throne Nova sat on the pile of gold as her dragon self wile Necro and Lady sat either side of her on their thrones. Necro looked to Lady and smiled, she just looked up at Nova and he did the same, they where there to guide her lead and that s what they where going to do. Everything was fine it was time to move on with a new chapter in their lives, but before they had a chance one of the humble servants raced in with urgent news.

"Your royal highness, world is the guild was destroyed."

"What." Nova gasped as she lugged forward.

Lady looked at Necro and all he could do was smile, she had been sent back before him and did not know what he had done.

"Who s responsible for this, we have to bring them to justice." Nova insisted.

"I can answer that." came a voice as a Necromancer walked in.

Necro got to his feet this was not going to end well.

"It was him." he said as he gestured to Necro.

Soon all eyes where on him, Nova looked at her mentor and Lady her lover, both where shocked y this revolution, as was Necro.
