Kelly's head felt heavy. That was the first thing that registered in her mind as soon as her eyes flickered open.
She realized she was lying in the backseat of a moving car. It wasn't supposed to be so, she knew. The last thing she could remember before going blank was Alexander getting shot and the car spiraling out of control. She wondered where he was and prayed he was fine. She desperately wanted to stand up and ask whoever the driver was about him but somehow she couldn't summon the energy to get up. No matter how much she tried, her limbs felt too heavy for her to carry.
She remembered being thrown harshly against the door when the car flipped over, and that would account for how weakened she felt.
"Excuse me..." She managed out but her voice was barely above a whisper. She doubted the person heard her. She simply stared at the back of his head until her eyelids could no longer stay open and she fell back into a state of unconsciousness.
