Fate was playing games with me and I was nothing but a mere piece of chess. This whole universe was trying to torment me with unwanted presences in my life. But again sometimes these coincidences were nothing but planned by God himself.
Nicholas Volkov.
The man who tried to hurt Karl, the one who had been making our lives difficult for past few months, was suddenly standing in front of me, with a huge victorious smile on his face. His hazel eyes sparkling with mischief.
"The fuck you doing here?!" Elijah growled, protectively standing in front of me. I couldn't think straight, my eyes were wide and my heart was beating erratically.
"Me? Oh! come on! I'm just here visiting my family, isn't it sister?" He said glancing at Zahara, who gave him a smirked smile. How in the world was he related to her?
"You can't be her brother! I've spent years living and I've visited Zahara many times, never I saw you there!" Elijah said in disbelief. His fists clenching by his sides. I could feel waves of anger radiating off him.
"Oh really! Did you even saw how my brother looked like?" Zahara said crossing her arms over her chest, a taunting smile on her face. I reflexively looked at Elijah, who looked tense for unknown reason.
"Exactly." Zahara exclaimed, excitement and victory on her face. "You never saw how my brother looked like. Wanna know why? That's because you never visited us for alliances but for the only purpose to sleep with Vanessa, isn't it?" She said something fiery sparkling in her eyes. Elijah had told me he had slept with Vanessa but was there something more to it?
"What's going on?" If I was scared earlier, then this time my fear knew no limit. Lucifer along with Draven was standing at door of his office. He was not looking angry but like always he was looking dangerous. His captivating yet scary light blue eyes were glued on me and probably he had noticed the uneasiness in my eyes. I could had swore I saw emotions flickering in them but they were there for a second.
But I knew better, he was a mauipuilator,? ? manoeuvre of my emotions and tormentor my my life. I knew his words were nothing but a lie, a way to break my sanity. The love and admiration I wanted to saw for myself in his arctic blue eyes, were a fantasy with nightmare engulfing it.
"Oh! Nothing's happening. We were just getting... acquainted." Zahara said looking at me. I snapped back to reality. Would Lucifer do something if I told him Nicholas was the man I ran from when he found me? Would he stand by my side or Zahara's?
Then again there was no reason for him to change for me. He never loved me, so him doing things for me, was fatal lie.
"Anyways, who is she, My Lord?" Nicholas said smirking, looking me up and down, his eyes held nothing but nasty thoughts. I held back the urge to cover myself though I was dressed decently.
Elijah growled beside me as he lunged forward towards Nicholas. "You fucking piece of shit!"
"Elijah!" I almost shouted stopping him by grabbing his bicep. If he wanted he could had easily ripped his arm from my hold but he respected me and looked down at me and took a deep breath, closing his eyes.
I know he wanted to exposed Nicholas but what was the point. It would led to nothing.
"I think you guys should rest, it was a long day." Draven interrupted, and that's when I looked at his direction. Though my eyes couldn't wander far as they immediately landed on Lucifer. He wasn't looking at me but his threatening gaze was lingering on Nicholas. I sensed a change in his whole demor, his fists were clenched now and his blue pupils were slightly surrounded by red thin line.
Im short, he looked etheral, angry and dangerous.
Why was he angry?
"But I didn't get answer, Lord Draven?" Nicholas being shameful person, still had his eyes on me, making me uncomfortable and a taunting smirk on his face.
Draven sighed.
"She's a...guest." My heart couldn't broke any more. Was I really a guest? So, in their dictionary, a guest wa someone was held against her will, tormented, and destroyed, stripped off her dignity? I nearly wanted to scoff.
"A guest, I see." He said, and for a split of second, his eyes rested on my stomach.
"Leave." I looked at Lucifer startled. His eyes were on me now and anger was still there. Did he wanted me to leav eso that he could spend some time with Zahara?
I held back the urge to smack him on his face and nodded.
WITHOUT looking back, ai stormed to my room. The previous room I was held in. Upon opening the door, I was greeted with same sight, same bed, same pillows, same paintings and same aura. I sighed before closing the door behind me.
Today was full of surprises, and unwanted events. My mind was still wasn't recovered from shock of seeing Nicholas motherfucking Volkov here. And somehow I knew his visit was not unintentional. He might had planned something.
I walked towards the bed, and grabbed the sheets in my hands, same soft texture of silk. Sighing, I was about to get under the sheets when the door of the room opened and I instinctively turned around.
There stood my tormentor, my captor, the one who I wanted to love but I knew his love would destroy me further.
His eyes was no longer wine red or scary, they held softness and his muscled body was kind of rigid.
He looked so handsome yet deadly in this dark room, which was only elluminated with moonlight. He looked ethereal yet vicious at the same time, a lethal yet deadly combination.
"What're you doing here?" The words slipped before I could stop myself. Though my voice was soft and low filled with disappointment, I know he still could hear.
He didn't said anything, but his actions replied as he took a step towards me, then again and again untill he was only an arm distance away from me. I wanted to step away but I no longer wanted to show him my fear. I refused to show him my vulnerability.
It was his eyes that made me question my sanity, made me doubt myself, made me believe he felt something for me. Or maybe it was his eyes that made me feel this way, this vulnerable, I was unshielded to them, he could read me like a book but he himself had kept himself forbidden, away from me, from my heart.
"Do you trust me, Sarah." He said hoarsely. His voice thick and laced with tenderness. My name rolling down his tongue, making me feel something I was trying to fight.
Trust.
"Aren't we past that word? This word TRUST you call, would never be there....just like our love, Lucifer." I looked up at him, water accumulating around corner of my eyes.
The moment he looked back at me, I saw emotions our eyes held, the sentiments we both were probably trying to hide, to keep away from each other's heart. He took a step towards me and distance turned to ashes, his hands gently held mine, the warmth making me feel butterflies.
This! This was what I was afraid of.
"I'm trying to make thing right...for you....for us." He said, eyes not leaving mine, hands intertwined with mine.
"...why?" Though I was quiet, I could hear my brain screaming, my heart shattering.
His hands tightened, and he pulled me abruptly towards his chest. I gasped, looking up at him, my hands resting on his chest and his eyes piercing me.
"Why?...I don't know, Sarah. You were supposed to be nothing but a collateral damage, the one I initially thought your father caused." He seemed to tell me something i couldn't quiet put my fingers on. He looked down at me encircling his strong arms around me, in a hold, which screamed that he wanted me all to himself. "But I somehow knew from start, you're mine. And this universe could do nothing to snatch you from this cursed hybrid."
I shook my head slightly.
"I was never yours, Lucifer. This...false interpretation of me you have in your paranoid mind, is nothing but a mere thought that you use to entertain yourself." My words made me tightened his hold on me more. He was getting annoyed.
"You made me yours only physically but you can never have my heart...my soul...myself." His eyes glowed wine red, leaving stains behind.
I chuckled lowly.
"You call this relationship? Where only one person belong to other? Where I have no respect in your eyes? Where you call me...nobody?" I looked up, my eyes drowning in tears, and let out a laugh.
"It wasn't supposed to hurt." I said sobbing. "But it is."
"Sarah-"
"Leave me, Lucifer. Leave me alone." I said managing to escape his arms. He didn't protested and I couldn't saw his face cause I quickly turned around, didn't wanted him to see me this vulnerable. I heard shuffling, retreating footsteps, as his warmth left me. I somehow knew he was leaving for door.
"You can stay in this room." He said before I heard door closing. And on cue, I fell on my knees, and heart wrenching sobs rippled through me. I was in pain, not physically but mentally, emotionally. I wasn't seeing hope, all lights were gone, replaced with darkness. Slowly and gradually I was falling into dark abyss.
I stayed in my previous room, all night in hope maybe he would come back, but like my expectations, everything went in vain. He never came, nor he tried to convince me to go back to his room.
I spent all night tossing, turning in despair. And when morning came, I was a mess. A complete and distraught mess. Not even a single sense in me was working, only thoughts, reels, memories; bitter and sweet, were playing through my mind. I still was without decision, and it was hardest to do. Especially when I didn't even knew where I should be and where I wanted to be.
In all this hatred, my heart was standing at cliff, ready to jump.
With poisonous thoughts and sleepless eyes, I got up and walked towards the bathroom. I couldn't made myself to look in the mirror, knowing my eyes might be red and swollen. Discarding my clothes, jumping in shower, I washed away the exhaustion off me.
When I finished showering, a fresh set of clothes were already present on bed. Set of panties, a beautiful chiffon yellow sundress. Changing into clothes, I dried my hairs.
Warm rays of sunshine was peeking through curtains and with intention to lit the whole room up, I slided the curtains to side, and let the sunrays join me in my despair state.
It somewhat felt nice.

Lucifer watched as Draven helped him train the warriors, battling with swords, some in their shapeshifter form. Though he was watching, his mind was roaming somewhere else. His thoughts consumed by pretty little thing, in castle, in room few feet away from his.
He couldn't understand why, but he was feeling a ache where his heart was supposed to be.
He wanted to offer her himself but he was scared if she would be ready to had his damaged sould. He knew he was wrong, in every manner, but he wasn't going to admitt.
"Perimeters should be secured and report the sudden movement." Draven said loudly to warriors to which they all nodded and answered. Lucifer looked across the field when his eyes landed on window of room, just above the field. He felt his lungs tightened, when he saw woman he had tormented, standing near large ceiling to floor window with Elijah by her side. She hadn't seen him but from the place he was standing, he could saw her every feature without blurring.
He could saw they were in conversation and by the looks on their faces, it was a good one cause Sarah was smiling and laughing as Elijah moved his hands in air.
A beautiful smile, genuine and warm, flashed across her face. Lucifer stood there, unable to breathe, feeling just he had got knifed in gut. He understood why she hated him, why she loved him.
Fuck, that smile...that was everything.
And unknowingly his lips curved in a half smile.
For the first time, he had answers to his questions. For the first time, he understood his feelings.
For the first time, he realised how much he loved her.
