LEILA CROSS
"You re awake Ms. Iris. I was told to tell you to prepare for your wedding," I watch the woman in the maid s uniform leaving the room.
How is it acceptable to wake up in the morning and hear those words?
And is it mandatory to wake up in a different room? And what the hell did she say? Prepare what?!
"Wedding?!" I rose in the bed and walk back and forth as I think things over.
I am in a different world and not to mention I woke up as Iris Brown. And she s about to marry! Why does it have to be me?!
I bit my lower lip as I can t help but wondering things out.
I need to escape. I need to make a move to escape this wedding but how?
As I can remember, I lost my consciousness. How did I get here? Telling me to prepare for MY wedding?!
I mess my hair as I can feel the frustration building up inside me. The situation is making me lose my sanity. I m going crazy! I need to breathe.
I wince in pain when the realization hits me. Yeah, I'm still injured and I can't believe that I'm inside a weak body.
I'm still adjusting. It's just that, it's too disappointing that I can't do things that I normally could! With this kind of body, how can I survive in this world?
I make my way out of the room as I hiss when I feel how heavy and annoying the clothes I m wearing right now.
All that I can see walking and doing something in this castle are all servants. Chefs, maids, guards, etc. I can t see someone who s not a servant of this castle.
"Hey! Did you see how cool he is?" As I am passing by through the corridors, three maids walk past me.
As I am close to them, I can hear them talking about a man.
"Manda, stop it. Someone might hear you! You know It s forbidden to talk about the Young Master behind his back," someone stops the girl who shouts how cool the man is.
"Kenda! You're to kill joy! He will not know about this if no one would tell it to him! And besides, he's just too handsome not to talk about!" I crease my forehead as I slowly take a step back following their trace to hear more of what they're saying about this certain person which they called their 'Young Master'.
I look like crazy but I don't care.
"No one can stare at his tantalizing blue eyes because they re too deep and dangerous. His deep voice can melt your stoned heart in just a snap. The power he holds and everything! He's just too perfect for us!" The two girls giggle like a kid. No, it's more like a leech that gets a bath in a pool of salt.
"I'm scared when I feel his presence approaching. Even just a little footsteps, it's making me tremble like hell"
"He got the looks, the power, the authority. He got them all! And that's what makes him stronger than anyone!"
"Powerful enough to shut the both of you! Stop it, okay? Let's go!" I can tell that it's Manda who shut the two off.
"But...," Manda trails off but stops immediately when the girl Kenda shouts at them to shut up. I can hear the heavy footsteps that she's making until it fades in my ears.
"Tsk, I know her too well. She's just furious because the Young Master's Fiance is here," Manda says. After all, I raise a brow.
Is she talking about me?
"Does she think that she can be near to Young Master? I even heard her yesterday, screaming his name in her dreams. So eww,"
"Yeah right. What a delusional witch. Let's go!"
I abruptly but silently stop taking a step and look at them walking side by side. I couldn't believe what I've heard.
Tilting my head, I processed all the things that they've mentioned.
Young Master. Blue eyes. Powerful. Good looking? If that's true, it's enough for me to conclude that he's the one ruling this Castle.
Everyone adores and respects him. Curiosity fills me up.
When I m done strolling around the castle, I make my way out and roam around.
I am sick and annoyed by their attitude whenever they see me walking around inside the castle. They either bow their heads or talk behind my back.
I shake my head and look around. I need to find a place where I can escape from here. As I am literally confused and didn t know what s happening and stuck in a situation, I never expected to experience it; I really need to escape.
I feel suffocated. I feel like any moment from now, I can see this body falling into the ground, lifeless.
Nothing s interesting in this castle. A typical castle to add with that. Huge rooms, kitchen, dining area, training rooms, a throne room, and a garden outside of the Castle.
I walk back into the room they gave me and locked myself up. I didn t step out of the room till the sun rise in the East.
I take a bath and do my routines. I literally look for comfortable clothes but all I find are dresses. I am not into dresses but I also can t see myself wearing anything in this strange place.
I look at my reflection in the mirror. My black hair cascades down until my waistline. My green eyes shining when the rays of sunlight hit them. My gaze goes down from the dress I am wearing.
Off-shoulder green dress which matches my eyes and a black doll shoe.
I walk my way to the door and open it.
"Good day Ms. Iris!" I raise a brow when I see a woman in a maid s uniform. She s not familiar. I familiarize all the servants here yesterday and she s not from here. I am certain of it.
"Why are you here? I told all servants not to come here and disturb my rest," I say that to her while keeping my eyes on her.
That s a lie but let s see if she ll take the bait, I prepare for her.
"He told me to escort you wherever you go, Ms. Iris…," I suppress the smirk that my lips are trying to do. This girl is a stranger even, an enemy.
How poor is the security here can be? Why are they so careless that an enemy easily gets Inside here
? And what is her plan for me?
Am I the target again? Why?
I shake the idea that crosses my mind as I look at the woman in front of me.
"Who s 'he you re talking about Miss?" I ask. She doesn t know that by the time she slips the word 'he when she answered my question, she has been gotten in a big trouble.
.
"The king of the Castle, Ms. Iris," got you! How come a mere servant like her would be told to roam around me wherever I go?
I have so much knowledge about the rules and how this world works as I am a vampire hunter and she, who claims to come with me anytime doesn t have an accurate strategy.
Unless the person is planning something against the upcoming victim of the scheme.
"Oh, right! Then let s go?" She bows her head but my eyes catch how her lips form into a wicked smile. I smirk silently and stare at her for a second before walking myself into the Garden at the back of the Castle.
After a moment of silence with the enemy at my back, we reach the place.
I stop when I see the table and chairs arranged beside a huge tree. I take a seat in one of the chairs and the servant-actress stays beside me.
I watch how the leaves and flowers sway and become one with the wind in front of me. Although the situation I am in right now feels like hell, I can breathe and feels how peaceful the Garden is.
I sense a force at my back when I manage to stop her. I just use a portion of 'Iris powers as I still don t know how to use it and how it works.
I subtly stand up from my seat and face her. I laugh when I see how her right hand which carrying a dagger stops mid-air.
"I m right. How bold of you to attack me just like that?" I ask her. Her eyes are clearly spitting out how hot and mad she is right now.
"And what did you say? 'He told you to keep an eye on me? Who might be that person?" I ask myself acting as if I really don t know even though she said that it s the king of the Castle. Only a stupid person will believe that trash.
I am merely a second out of focus that s why she escapes from the force I gave her.
I slightly bend my back and moves to my left when she swings the dagger diagonally. While at it, I grab her hand and push it to stab herself.
I hiss when it didn t scratch her neck but her shoulder.
I scrunch my nose when the smell of her blood enters my nostrils. My hand trembles a bit but I control it. Due to that, I didn t notice the woman s attack in front of me. I watch how she throws the dagger to me; to my heart specifically.
My breathing hitch when it suddenly stops just an inch before my heart and gradually drops to the floor. The force is slightly strong that s why the wind strikes my face causes me to close my eyes when specks of dust are on it.
My eyes flash open as it darts towards the man who just saved me. I can't utter any words as I see his face clearly.
I instantly knew that he's the one who showed up before I lose my consciousness and I woke up inside his castle.
From his side view, his pointed nose is the one I notice first. His thick eyebrows move as well as his jaw.
Breathtaking view.
I slightly slap my cheeks to wake myself. I grimace in pain when I accidentally pinched my cheeks hard when he suddenly glanced at me.
As the maids described him yesterday, his deep blue eyes seem so magical that it sends me chills and unknown emotion. His light brown hair which is messily damp that covers his forehead sways with the wind. He has a small piercing in his left ear. I bit my lower lip and tear my gaze away from him the moment the side of his lips lift for a smirk.
I lose it.
"Who told you to hurt my fiancé, little rat?"
