Chapter 28 Unexpected

|LEILA CROSS|

"Hey, kid. That's dangerous, let it go...,"

I encourage him to put the knife down but instead of doing it, he only tries to slash it but I manage to dodge it by holding his wrist using my left hand.

I carefully get the knife in his hand and when I did, I immediately hide it in my pocket at my back.

The kid tries to break free from the grip. He even lifts his feet to kick me but I endure the pain and restrict him to move. I look at his face. His jaw is clenching together with his gritted teeth. His eyes are on fire as if I am the long-lost enemy that he has been looking for.

But despite his furious look, I can see, deep inside of the fire in his eyes is a young kid who's been so lonely and in pain for a long time.

"Why do you have that kind of knife, young boy?" I ask him with my soft voice and expression. His brown eyes start to swell tears but there's still fury on them.
