I smiled and replied, "I was about to knock on your door when I heard the two of you talking. And allow me to say this, Mother: you re acting like a child. Not accepting help from other people and being stubborn."

She giggled gently, careful not to hurt herself. "Robert, I m not being stubborn, I m being realistic. And since you already have an idea of what we talked about, I have my reasons for rejecting his suggested treatment."
