Chapter 22 Persuasion

When they came to the Lady's prominence Jenny stood on one place stamping her foot.

"Oh, no!" she refused energetically. "Miss Rosie, you are not serious, are you?"

"Why? Would you even say: "Whither wilt thou lead me? Speak, I'll go no further"," the young lady theatrically quoted Hamlet but Jenny didn't understand that.

"Exactly! Not only to that crazy old man."

"All right. You stay here and I shall go alone."

"Even don't dare! This oaf may fry you or something... How would I look in your parents faces then?"

"Then go with me and guard me."

"Why on earth do you need to see him? He is not of the hospitable and friendly type."

"Because I want so."

"Why didn't you say it to your parents then?"

"Jenny!"

This question cut her to the quick. The abated pains were at their feast again... Jenny got really anxious about her lady's sudden change of mood and rushed to her.

"Miss Rosie! Forgive me..."
