Training

Adrian was now serious. He was glad he had underestimated this guy because this meant he could have a good fight. Everyone looked at Adrian like he was some kind of psychopath.

Adrian didn't care, though; he just wanted to fight. He would still not rush in, though; he needed to stay on the defensive and strike when there was an opening. Because if he tried to attack first, he would have as many openings as a cheese grater.

The weak-looking guy was obviously aware of this, so he had to make the first move. He again dashed at Adrian, trying to do the same move as before. This time Adrian was ready though; he blocked the attack, while making a swing himself.

Before the swing could hit though, the weak-looking guy had already struck again. Hitting Adrian in the face, sending him flying for a few meters.

As Adrian landed on the ground, he started to think of what to do. He loved fighting, but he hated to lose. He had to come up with something that could make him win.

Adrian then suddenly thought of Henrick's style of fighting. Evade what you can, and then strike when the opponent is exhausted. Adrian's earlier mistake was that he was trying to block the attacks, while what he needed to do was evade them.

Adrian should not have a problem doing this since his agility stat was very high, and he had his skill 'instinct.' These two things were a combo that could help him a lot.

Adrian proceeded to get up from the ground. He looked at the guy he was fighting with a very serious look. He was now going to try the new tactic. He just stood there like before, waiting for the weak-looking guy to attack him.

A few seconds went by before the weak-looking guy attacked Adrian again. This time, what surprised the guy was that Adrian evaded his first strike. He then threw another punch which was also avoided. He kept trying to hit Adrian, who just kept evading, and one could see that his breathing was turning heavier and heavier.

Adrian couldn't help but smile at this. He had now learned a new way of fighting. He felt like he was getting a lot stronger every time he fought someone new. He loved this feeling. Even though his body hurt all over from all the previous punches, the thrill of becoming stronger made him feel too good.

Adrian didn't feel like striking yet, even though he had seen many openings. He wanted to keep evading, to perfect the skill. He wanted the passive skill like Henrick had. It is very powerful in certain situations.

If the other people knew what he was thinking of at the moment, they might go over there to beat him up. It is not that easy to learn that kind of skill. You had to have some manual or trainer; you can not just do it from fighting.

It would not be the first time for Adrian, though. All the skills he has been learned by training and fighting for himself. This meant that he was honestly a true genius or a training maniac.

After ten minutes of doing this fighting, Adrian's evading had become near perfect. He had still not gotten the skill, though. This didn't worry Adrian, though, since this meant that he didn't need the skill to evade; he could just do it without the skill.

Adrian didn't want to keep the fight going, so he struck the weak-looking guy as the next opening came. He fell from just one punch since Adrian was quite strong. He fell unconscious straight away, and Adrian heard a small notification.

[New skill acquired Vicious Strike level 1!]

This surprised Adrian. How come he got that skill from one punch? But he didn't get evading through all the evading he did.

Everyone was looking at Adrian like he was some kind of freak. This fight had been in favor of the weak-looking guy for most of the time. When Adrian suddenly started evading, the weak-looking guy lost his advantage.

It was a good learning experience for Adrian. There were a few of the other people who looked like they had been enlightened as well. One of those people was the katana guy.

Everyone was looking at Adrian by now, and they all thought that he would ask for another fight. Before anything more could happen, though, Sir Harlace started to speak.

"That was a good fight, kid, but you are hurt; go recuperate!" He sounded like a commanding elder. Adrian had no other choice but to do what he said.

"Okay" Adrian agreed, but he didn't move. He stood there looked around, trying to find out where to go.

"Oh yeah, you are new here, HAHA!" Sir Harlace forgot that Adrian was new here. "Elise, can you show him where to go? I will take care of Mathew!" He looked at the green-haired girl while also glancing at the weak-looking guy.

"Sure, Sir Harlace" She gave him a cheerful smile while grabbing Adrian, "This way, new blood!" She sounded like a very happy-go-lucky person. Adrian liked this kind of personality since they were straightforward to talk to.

Adrian couldn't do anything as he was just pulled along. They didn't talk for the whole walk/run there. It did not take long either, but Adrian saw how amazing this place was on the way there.

It was a small village just for this noble family and their soldiers. The houses the furthest away from the mansion were the cheapest looking once, while the ones closest to it were the most decorated.

Adrian guessed that the ones that lived in the houses closest to the mansion were the ones with the highest ranks, while the ones living at the outskirts were the regular soldiers. To be fair, even the cheapest-looking houses were still better than a typical house in Emall.

As they arrived at the nursing tent, Adrian was left by Elise. She told the nurses what had happened to Adrian; after she had done that, she left for the training field again.

One of the nurses took Adrian into the tent to see what was wrong with him. He was asked to take off his shirt so that they could take a closer look. What surprised them was how many scars he had.

He had claw marks on the shoulder, and it looked pretty dangerous across the chest. There were also a lot of more minor scratches all around his body. The nurses couldn't help but think how much he had gone through, and he hadn't even turned 20 yet.

They didn't stay on this topic too much, though, since he had been injured at training today, so they had to look at that first.

One of the healers there went over to Adrian to heal the internal damage he had gotten that made him throw up blood. It was nothing serious; he had just gotten internal bleeding.

It took no more than 15 minutes. After he was done, the nurses started talking about him. He was handsome after all; his body was very well defined. They didn't talk too much about it, but it seemed like a new celebrity had come to the noble house.

Adrian went back to the training field to find that there was no one other than Innes. It seems like the training has ended. Adrian didn't know where to go now. So he just started training by himself. Swinging the spear in different directions, trying to learn a combo. He also did some strengthening training.

The day quickly came to an end, and Adrian had spent around 6 hours training by himself. His stats had not gone up by much, though. The only stats that went up were strength and vitality. They each went up by one.

He didn't know that someone was there, looking at him training. It was a woman who just stood in the shadows at the corner of the training field. Since the darkness had taken over the place, one could barely see her, with only a few lamps lighting up the training field.

Adrian ended his training at this time since it was getting hard to see anything. He still didn't know where to go, so he decided it was time to move towards the mansion, to find out where to sleep.

As Adrian was about to go back to the mansion, the lady walked out from within the shadows. Adrian felt her presence now. He turned around straight away.

"Who are you?" He gave her an indifferent and cautious look.

"Oh me?" she gave him an innocent look while tilting her head. "My name is Ela!"

"Why are you here so late?" Adrian was still very cautious; it is bizarre for a woman to be out here so late.

"I think it is your turn to tell me your name now!" She said, as a matter of factly.

"Adrian, now answer my question!"

"Oh, haha, my dad told me to come to find you! But when I came here, you were training ... so I waited for it to end!" She said in a normal tone, "I didn't think it would take 3 hours, though:" Adrian couldn't hear this, though, since it was a slight murmur.

"Now, come with me" She started walking towards the mansion, looking away from Adrian.
