Twenty-Seven

Bellas Pov 

I'm not going to lie I was tempted by what Chris said, but as always, I am protecting myself from any hurt that could come from it. The bathroom door opens revealing a half-naked Chris the grey joggers' hang low on his hips all his tattoos are on show and he has gained a lot of muscle since I last saw him 

"Keep staring like that and I'll never wear a shirt again" He smirks, whoops busted 

"Oh, shut up" I laugh pushing past him and quickly shut the bathroom door behind me and I hear him laughing, I strip out of my soaking dress and step into the warm spray of the water, fuck everyone is going to wonder where I have disappeared to. I quickly shower, making sure my hair doesn't get wet and keeping my makeup away from the water, wrapping myself in my towel I exit the bathroom trying to avoid Chris whose gaze is burning into me 

"I forgot about the fucking wedding" I say while grabbing my full-length black dress and rushing back into the bathroom I slip into it running back out and slipping into a pair of silver strapped sandals 

"As entering as it is to watch you running around getting all flustered, I better go grab some sneakers if we are going back there" He grins smugly cocking his eyebrow, as he grabs his old top or should I say my black sleeping top it looks like his muscles are going to tear through it but my perverted thoughts are interrupted when the door opens  

"Uhm, whoops, sorry guys I just needed to pick up Ava's spare blanket" Claire chuckles looking between us both, I guarantee it won't be long before Bri finds out about this 

"It's fine, Claire" I smile walking over and taking my sleeping baby girl out of her arms enjoying a minute with my daughter while Claire grabs a few bits and Chris has gone to grab some shoes when I hand Ava back, I grab my bag and walk out of the door with Claire. 

"Why have you got changed, Bella?" 

"We went for a walk and the bottom of my dress got wet in the water" I say to quickly and she gives a little laugh, she really doesn't believe me. Just as I stop outside Claire's room, Chris appears still in the grey joggers, black top and wears a pair Nike air max sneaker he looks freaking gorgeous, his short black military style hair cut looks perfect, jeez what is wrong with me. 

"You have a bit of drool, right there" Chris pretends to wipe some imaginary drool of my chin earning him slap while Claire goes into her room, I hear her laugh. Chris and I walk back into the main resort instantly I'm grabbed into a pair of arms 

"Where the fuck have you been?" Sarah chuckles before releasing me  

"My fault, I took her away from Marie and she ended up somehow falling in the water-" 

"You son of a-" Chris and Sarah start laughing "Oh fuck this, I need a drink" I walk away from both of them and head straight for the bar. 

Dales Pov 

It was just after eight in the evening when I noticed Bella was missing after searching around the resort and I couldn't find her, I dropped a subtle hint to Jay that I couldn't find her. It has been just over an hour when I see her walk in with Chris, and she has changed her clothes but hang on, so has he.  

I stood in the corner next to bar and watched as he followed her like a lost puppy, it is getting to me now, I think I need to do something about this, I don't understand why she can't see me for me.  

"Hi Dale" Sarah interrupts my thoughts, maybe it was good thing because those thoughts were dark. 

"Hey Sarah, it has been amazing day"  

"Yeah, it has been, I wanted to talk to you about something though" 

"Sure, what's up?" 

"Why are you so obsessed with Bella?" that question knocked the wind out of me, I know Sarah is observant but what if she knows the true extent of my obsession 

"I am not obsessed, but she is beautiful and she was into Tyler now that guy is all over her, what's going on there?" I watch as she searches my face, for what I don't know 

"Tyler cheated on her, she is single and she can do what she wants. As for Chris, well let's just say they have history and a shit load of chemistry, ha sounds like some sort of high school song" she laughs. 

"What do you mean, history?" 

"Not my place to say, but listen stop staring at her like that because it is kind of creepy" with that she walks off, fuck! 

The reception started to wind down and there was only a handful of people left but Bella was nowhere to be seen and neither was Chris, my blood is boiling, I don't care what their history is this was going to be my chance to be with her, then he turned up.  

Chris's Pov 

Sarah and Jay had asked if I was going to join them and Bella for some drinks in Bella's which is how we have ended up in Bella's small apartment. Sarah and Jay are cuddled up on the little sofa and Bella and I are sat on the edge of the bed 

"So, what is happening with you two?" That comes from Sarah 

"Uh, what are you on about?" 

"Oh, come on, you two dancing earlier, then auntie Marie going around telling everyone 'She couldn't be happier that you two are back together' then both of you appearing with a change of clothes" Jay smirks and Bella slaps my arm 

"I fucking told you auntie Marie would blow what you said out of proportion" she scolds but I can't help but laugh especially when Sarah and Jay also crack up laughing 

"I'm sorry, but it got you away from her, didn't it?"  

"Shut up" she rolls her eyes causing us all to laugh again. After a few drinks, we all had a good chat and made plans for dinner when we return home, I'll have a week at home before I have my last deployment which I am now fucking dreading. Jay and Sarah have just left to go to their suite and Bella has just gone to check in on Claire and Ava, I have stuck the kettle on as requested by Bella and made a coffee, she is definitely still the same, normally people would avoid caffeine before bed but not Bella. 

Bella returned after ten minutes seeming calmer than she was which I am guessing is because she has seen her daughter is fine, Jay told me a lot about what happened between Bella and Ava's dad, I feel bad for her even though they weren't together they were real good friends and she made him promise he would come home from his deployment and he never returned meaning he never got to meet his daughter which is heart-breaking.
