Would you like a sweet

"You know," Walking into the recently destroyed café, the assassin stepped to the side as part of the room caved in. "I expected a bigger fight." The man grunted, sheathing his dagger.

His partner joined him, "You should be happy." He spoke, sheathing his own dagger. "I don't recognize that one." Pointing his finger at the Blue fox, the assassin took a step closer. "Didn't the captain say that we were hunting the Grey and yellow foxes? Why is there a blue one now?"

"You worry too much." Standing over Blue and Grey, the assassin mused. "Aww, isn't that cute." The assassin laughed. "Look at that. The blue guy jumped onto the grey one. Probably some feeble attempt to protect her from the explosion. The fire magic that those devices can output is tremendous, no normal human could survive that." Turning around, the assassin patted his friend's shoulder. "Let's go and tell the captain we got two foxes for the price of one."

Watching his friend leave the burning café, the last assassin crept closer to Blue and Grey. Noticing something odd, the assassin noted that Blue and Grey's bodies were seemingly unharmed by the explosion, and neither body showed any signs of fire damage. The assassin moved closer as he called to his friend. "H- hey wait! Their bodies aren't burnt-!"

As the assassin stood over them, Blue acted. Tackling the man to the ground, Blue reached for his dagger.

"Try and blow me up! I'll show you what happens when you try to blow me up!" Blue repeated his words as he grabbed the man's dagger. Batting the man's arm out of the way, Blue drove the knife into the man's neck. Blue watched as the man tried to call for help, only for weak gasps to escape.

Picking herself up, Grey walked over. "Yeah, yeah, I think you got him." She muttered, handing Blue his sword.

Wiping the blood off of his hands, Blue grunted, taking his sword from Grey. "Where'd his friend go?"

The fox's gaze both rested on the lone man standing in the burnt doorway. Seeing his friend murdered in front of his own eyes, his voice came out horse. "Y-You bastards, you killed my friend!"

"Seriously, you're an assassin, and you're surprised when your job gets you killed." Blue dryly responded. "That's just pathetic."

"Can you just kill him already, Blue?" Grey snapped. "We need to find Red and Yellow before someone stronger than these two arrive."

"I don't know why you're blathering so much, cat. Why don't you kill him, I already killed one of them."

Grey's tale quickly wagged side to side as she listened to Blue. "It's hard to fight people when you nullify my magic, Blue." She fumed.

Walking up to each other, the two foxes began to argue with one another as the assassin watched.

"Yeah, yeah, I saved you from that explosion. My nullification power was able to neutralize the fire magic that bomb used to destroy this café. You wouldn't want to get your fur clock burnt, would you?" Blue rhetorically asked.

"My fur would have been fine! You already know it can resist fire-based attacks! Now thanks to you, I'm going to be out of it for a few minutes!"

"Oh well, sorry for trying to be nice to you for once."

"Nice to me! If you wanted to be nice you could have thrown yourself on that bomb instead of onto me, then maybe this café would have been saved.

A voice came from the doorway as they argued. "Hey, you two."

Turning around, Blue and Grey both shouted at the doorway. "What!"

The assassin's body flopped forward, a glowing orange sword sticking out of his back. Standing over the man's corpse, Red and Yellow now stood in the doorway.

"What are you two arguing about?"

Staring at Blue, Grey muttered through her teeth. "Nothing, Red." Shaking her head, she walked over to Red. "It's good to see Yellow found you. Have our uninvited guests paid you a visit?"

"Mhm," Red responded, prodding the dead man's body with his foot. "They weren't a problem. Although, I have a feeling that they aren't the only people here." Looking around the ruined café, Red had a few more questions he'd like to ask. "So, umm, what happened here?"

"They threw a device through the window, it pulled in mana from the air and converted it into fire and well." Gesturing to the burnt and burning walls, Grey shrugged. "I'm sure the effectiveness of the bomb is evident. It's a shame, too, I quite liked coming here."

"Did Blue manage to give the artefact to you before you were attacked?"

Holding up the artefact, Grey put a finger next to the smudge of Blue's blood. "Secured and neutralized. When we get out of here, we'll get it right to the buyer."

"Will you be going to Haven anytime soon?" Red asked, looking over his shoulder into the street.

"I don't think we had any plans on going home, but I can if you want me to. Do you need something?"

Nodding, Red leant forwards to whisper into the Grey foxes' ear.

Watching them, Blue was standing next to Yellow. "So, how have you been, Yellow?"

Shrugging, Yellow hopped onto a piece of rubble, crossing her legs as she sat down. "Oh, same old, same old." Watching Red stand back, Yellow was about to nudge Blue before thinking better of it. "Why are you two always getting into arguments, Blue? "

"Me and Grey? She started it. I was just trying to help with the explosion." He muttered, crossing his arms.

Smiling, Yellow shook her head. "Oi, Grey, shouldn't we clear out of here? Surely we don't want to be found in a blown-up café by the guards."

"No, no, we will be fine to be here a little longer. This café is located on the outskirts of Basincliff, plus that explosion was surprisingly quiet for, you know. An explosion. I imagine the assassins use it for that very reason. So we don't have to worry about waking anyone up."

Looking around, Red rubbed his chin. "I don't think the explosion is what we should be worried about. This place looks like it's about to cave in at any second. Just to be safe, let's go somewhere else. Who knows how long it'll take until other assassins reach us."

Walking into the street, Red looked around. Still no one to be seen.

Stretching her arms above her head, Yellow looked at Red and Grey. "Is this where we go our separate ways?"

Looking at each other, Red and Grey nodded.

"It is. It's best if we split up, we could be outnumbered, so splitting up means they'll have to split up their forces in turn." Turning to Grey, Red cocked his head to the side. "Just make sure you get my message back to White. She'll want to know what I've told you."

"Whilst I don't understand what it means, I'll make sure White hears it. And this." Holding the gauntlet up, Grey checked that the blood smudge was still intact. "I'll make sure this makes it to the buyer in one piece."

"I do have one more question, Grey."

"What's that Red?"

Reaching into his cloak, Red pulled out his bag of candies. "Would you like a sweet?"

Lightly chuckling, Grey reached in with a free hand. "Take care Red. Who knows when other Assassins will come for us." Putting one of the sweets into her mouth. Grey called to Yellow. "Come on Yellow. Let's get going!"

"Aww, I hope it's not too long until we see you two again." Following Grey, Yellow waved to Red and Blue as they left.

Watching them go, Blue stood next to Red. "Will they be ok?"

Looking to Blue, Red nodded. "I'm sure those two will be ok. Grey and I are one of the strongest members of the Kitsune. Now come on. We should also clear out of here."

Sighing, Blue pulled his hood up. "If you say so, Red."

As all the foxes left the wrecked café. Two people watched them go. Stood on top of the buildings opposite. A large man with no armour on his arms, which revealed his bulging muscles, laughed as he watched them go. "Look Teo." The man continued laughing as he used his large hands to pat his teammate's back. "The foxes are splitting up because they're worried about being outnumbered."

Sighing, Teo rubbed her forehead. "We are the ones at a disadvantage, Marnix. There's three of us and four of those foxes" Batting his arm away, Teo looked at the man behind them. "There were only supposed to be two of them, Nuru."

Leant against a chimney, the last man wiped sand from the edge of his sword. Hearing Teo, he sheathed the sword over his back. Walking over to the edge of the roof. "It doesn't matter whether there's two of them or four of them. We still have a mission to finish. Teo see what you can do about the Grey and Yellow foxes. Marnix you come with me, you can take on the Blue fox, the Red fox is all mine."
