Magicite Ring

Finishing the vial, Savina took a moment to take a breath as she processed this information.

Clearing her throat, Savina spoke. "I have had my violet fire since I was born." Balling her fists, Savina looked down. "In my 56 years, I have mastered my unique magic. In time, my power was recognised as being the second strongest in the world. My fire was stronger than my father's..." Savina fell quiet.

Taking this moment, Rio spoke up. "Who… who was your father?"

Savina couldn't help but smile at Rio's innocence. "My father, Rio, was a great man. Aldenorous Estia. He was known as the King of Elements because of how he commanded each of the elemental magic types with such precision… the intensity of my fire was second only to the mythical Phoenix Lord…"

Savina's smile grew increasingly downtrodden as she spoke. "When I was given my fire back after Nama revived me and returned me to this world, I found it lacking, it was weaker not what it was. But when I felt my brother's mana, I think something inside me woke up." Balling her fists, Savina wiped the tears that were threatening to pour down her cheeks. "I'm not quite sure how to react to being told that if I use my violet fire again, I could lose the ability to use magic. Although I could liken the feeling of losing an arm… But, I guess it's not all bad."

Fingering the brim of her pointed hat, Elenwen sat at the foot of her bed. "Why is that, Savina?"

"Oh because." Wiping her eyes, Savina slightly chuckled. "I'm going to summon the Demon Lord Api."

"What!" Falling off of the bed, Elenwen picked herself up. "Why in the world would you want to do that!" Elenwen shrieked.

More confused, Rio put his hands up, trying to defuse the situation. "C- come on, I'm sure this Api guy can't be that bad. Who is Api anyway?"

Putting her hat back on, Elenwen rubbed the bridge of her nose. "Api is a Demon Lord. Demon Lords being the demon equivalent of your Divine Gods. In other words, Api is a Demon God. Specifically, Api is the Demon Lord of Fire and Flame. Which only makes me want to know more." Slamming her palms onto the bed, Elenwen stared at Savina. "Are you mad?!"

Rubbing his ears from the noise, nudged Rio, gesturing that they should go.

Nodding, Rio turned to Savina and Elenwen. "Soo, you two obviously have some things to work out." Rio pointed to Iseul and then the stairs. "Iseul and I will go and make something for dinner."

Watching them go, Elenwen stood back up as she flexed her fingers. "Explain, Savina, why are you trying to summon a Demon Lord."

Putting the vial on the bedside table, Savina closed her eyes, taking a few breaths. "Before, I just wanted to speak to Api and ask what the Demon King is up to, but now, with what you've told me." Meeting Elenwen's gaze, Savina tightly clenched her fists. "I'm going to request to sign a contract with Api. If what you said is true, I can no longer use my violet fire. I fear the regular fire magic that will replace it will do no good. So I'm going to request power from Api."

About to speak, a thought came to Elenwen's mind. "So, how are you going to summon Api? Those rituals can be quite complex."

"Oh um, Elenwen." Rubbing the back of her neck, Savina guiltily smiled. "I was hoping you'd help me with that."

Resisting the urge to fall over, Elenwen laughed. "You are unbelievable, I thought you didn't like witches, and here you are asking for my help."

"Don't give me that, you said it yourself. You're one of the good ones, aren't you, plus. Rio and Iseul like you, and I like them. So, is that a yes?"

Softly shaking her head, Elenwen laughed harder. "Fine, fine. You win, I'll help you summon Api. I actually have a gift for you." Reaching into a pocket, Elenwen brought out a ring.

The ring was made from a rock that glistened with a pale blue light.

Peering closer, Savina recognised the rock. "Is that, magicite?"

"A keen eye. When I realised that your mana current was highly unstable because of the use of your violet fire. I planned on creating a ring to suppress your violet fire. I spoke to Rio about how I would need magicite to create the ring. He told me that when you were fighting that golem, what did Rio call it… The Hand of Mon? It created a spear of blue rock, I sent him back to the dungeon to retrieve it and well." Pressing the ring into Savina's open palm, Elenwen smiled. "Here we are."

Picking the ring up between two fingers, Savina eyed it wearily. "You made this on your own? You can really just suppress a person's magic like that."

"Of course, I can." Running a thumb over her bottom lip, Elenwen giggled. "I'm the Witch of sealing. Creating an artefact that will pull a specific unique magic out of the wearer's body and then seal it within the magicite ring, all without harming the wearer's mana current, is practically child's play."

"There's no other effects to this, right? It'll only nullify my violet fire, nothing else. Yeah?"

"Savina, please. I'm the best at what I do, sealing magic is in my blue blood." Shaking her head slightly, Elenwen shrugged. "There are no side effects. As long as the ring is intact, your violet flame will be sealed."

Lifting the ring to her left ring finger, Savina hesitated for a moment. Putting the ring on, Savina felt an immense pain from within her left hand, causing Savina to yelp. "Ahh, what the hell." Holding her left hand, Savina struggled against the pain as her violet fire began to flow into the ring. After a few moments, the process stopped. The blue energy of the magicite ring was now replaced with violet light.

Panting slightly, Savina glared at Elenwen. "I thought you said there weren't any side effects?"

"I did. I was telling the truth when I told you there weren't any side effects, although the process of removing mana from your body isn't exactly a painless process."

Shaking her head, Savina now looked at the violet ring. "So." Flexing her fingers, Savina attempted to summon her violet fire. Instead of the usual fire, Savina now held a small ball of orange fire. "Wow… That actually worked."

Seeing that Savina looked as if she was about to say something gloomy again, Elenwen pulled a pair of scissors out of her pocket. "Hey, Savina." Snipping the scissors, Elenwen gestured to Savina's hair. "Mind if I cut your hair?"

Confused, Savina cocked her head to the side, closing her palm on the fireball. "Come again?"

"It's just your hair, from when your magic went berserk. Bits of your hair were burnt and bits of your hair have these cute little violet highlights. So, do you mind if I clean up your hair a little? Before you ask, don't worry. I cut my hair all the time." She winked, waving the scissors.

"Oh." Running her hands through her hair, Savina furrowed her brow. "I hadn't realised my hair was in such a dishevelled state. That's a shame, I always loved my hair. Oh, fine, go on then. It'll give me time to look through what Nama has given me."

"Yay. It's been forever since I cut someone else's hair. Come on, come on. Out the bed." Pulling a chair out from the desk, Elenwen waited next to it.

Throwing the sheets off of her, Savina attempted to get out of the bed. Staggering slightly as she stood up. Savina held her hand up as Elenwen was about to help her stand.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." Standing up, Savina wobbled slightly as she walked over to the chair. Sitting down, Savina tilted her head backwards, looking at the upside-down Elenwen. "Remember, I only want you to clean up my hair. Don't go wild."

"Yes, miss." Elenwen excitedly responded.

Rolling her eyes, Savina exhaled as she felt the Elenwen get to work.

"Now." Savina thought to herself. "What are these Champion skills Nama was talking about. System."

The familiar blue screen appeared before Savina's eyes.

Staring at the screen, Savina felt a little disgruntled. "A single skill had been unlocked. Just one skill. My strongest magic had just been sealed, and here I was hoping that I would be able to rely on my Champion skills to cover for that weakness. No, no, I should see what this skill does. After all, it could be a super powerful skill, that's why I only have one." Shaking her head as she spoke to herself. Savina tapped the skill.

As Savina's finger tapped the skill, a voice began to speak to Savina

"Words of Wisdom, a skill created by the first Champion of Wisdom, its capabilities and abilities have progressed and evolved over the years as future Champions of Wisdom add to its capabilities."

Almost falling off the chair, Elenwen looked at Savina. "Are you ok? I didn't cut you, did I?"

"You didn't hear that? You didn't just hear a man's voice right now? Did you Elenwen?"

As Elenwen shook her head, Savina sighed. "Sorry, please continue." Sitting back on the chair. Savina crossed her legs as she thought to herself. "What was that?"

"Apologies if I scared you." This time, Savina was prepared for the strange voice within her head. "I am the voice of the skill, Words of Wisdom. "

"A sentient skill? Interesting. Do you have a name?" Savina asked.

The voice answered. "The previous Champion of Wisdom gave me the name, Speaker."

"Interesting. So, what do you do?"

"I was created by the first Champion of Wisdom to record his experiences, as the Champions of Wisdom have come and gone, they have added and improved my capabilities, I am capable of performing a variety of tasks, ranging from magic replication to threat detection."

Hearing this, Savina grinned. "So you are one skill that can do a multitude of things?"

"That is correct."

"Yes, I can work with that. What are you able to currently do?"

"Currently, I am capable of analysing objects and people."

Savina paused for a moment. "What?"

The voice parroted its own words. "I am capable of analysing objects and people."

"I, I heard that." Savina stuttered. "What do you mean you can only analyse objects and people. You just said past Champions of Wisdom improved and added to your powers?"

"That is true. But as you have only recently started your journey as the Champion of Wisdom. Many of my abilities are inactive until you grow stronger."

Running her hands down her face, Savina let out a long sigh. "Of course it wouldn't be that
