Chapter 16: Unexpected Accident

Although she had been wiped from the entertainment industry, it hadn't affected Aria Grant's ambition to enter the circle. After David Thompson helped her settle the matter, he arranged for her to film an advertisement.

That afternoon, Aria arrived at the filming site, only to find that the crew had been waiting for her for a long time.

"It's not like she's a big deal, why is she so slow?"

As soon as they arrived at the site, everyone was already displeased with this person who had entered the industry through connections and didn't follow rules.

"Hurry up, let's get this over with so we can wrap up."

Aria looked at herself in the mirror, dressed like a clown, and then at the indifferent makeup artist beside her. She knew that this was just the tip of the ugly side of the entertainment industry, and the road ahead would be even more difficult.

If she were to compromise now, she would be treated like a pushover from now on.

"Change my makeup, or we can all wait together!"

Aria's words came out breezily, but they sounded like a heavy bomb in the ears of the makeup artist.

"What do you think you are? If it wasn't for the fact that a lot of money was spent today, I wouldn't even want to do makeup for a ham actress like you. Do you even know your own weight?"

The makeup artist, named Linda, was an exclusive makeup artist for top stars and actors. But today she was suddenly notified to do makeup for an unknown celebrity, and she was extremely upset about it.

"I know what I am, but you probably don't know what you are."

The atmosphere between the two was getting tense, and many people, watching Aria arguing with Linda, flashed a hint of disapproval in their eyes. Everyone in the circle knows the rule: never offend those in costuming.

Otherwise, even the biggest stars are worthless when they're made to look ridiculous.

The last person to offend the costuming department was the best actor winner Kelly Grant a few years ago. Although they both had the same name, no one connected them.

After all, it's just a coincidence of surnames. Even if they were truly related, Kelly had vanished five years ago, and couldn't help Aria now.

Just as Linda was about to make Aria pay, someone suddenly shouted that something had gone missing.

"The diamond ring, the one we're using for the shoot, is gone!"

This time Aria had signed on to shoot a diamond ring advertisement, and they generously provided a diamond ring worth more than 100,000 dollars as a prop for the shoot.

But now the prop was gone before they even started filming. If they couldn't find the ring, the entire crew would have to pay for it.

"Before the ring went missing, who went to the prop room, and did the prop master leave the room?"

At a time when everyone was panicking, only two people remained calm, one of whom was Aria, and the other was the director of the advertisement they had invited for the shoot.

Aria looked at him calmly as he directed everyone to look for the ring, a hint of suspicion flashing through her eyes. Sure enough, the next second, the prop master suddenly seemed to "remember" that she had been in the prop room, even suggesting that she wanted to see the diamond ring.

"Mrs. Grant, we don't suspect that you stole the ring, but after all, you were the only one who went to the prop room and you saw the ring. So... "

Aria raised her eyebrows and motioned for the director to continue speaking. She was curious to see how this specially directed drama for her would end.

"In order to clear your name, we want to search... "

Before the director could finish speaking, Aria slapped him across the face.

"Do you think everyone is an idiot just because you are? You have the nerve to use such an amateurish performance to frame me, and if I don't expose you, you really think that I am an idiot for you to manipulate?"

Aria didn't want to expose the deception so quickly. However, when she saw the director's lecherous gaze and his hand reaching towards her, she couldn't hold back.

"Hey, what's gotten into you, girl? You were the only one who went to the prop room, the only one who touched that ring. If it's not you, who could it be? Your words make it sound like we're wronging you."

After being slapped, the director didn't get angry, but his eyes still seemed determined. However, the next second, his expression changed completely.

Aria didn't waste time talking with these people. She directly grabbed the hand of the prop master who had first claimed the ring was missing. Then she twisted it in the opposite direction, bending it into an extremely awkward posture.

While leaning close to his ear, she said in an exceptionally gentle tone, "If you don't tell the truth now, I'll make your other hand look like this too."

The prop master couldn't bear the excruciating pain and shouted, "It was the director who told me to do this. He took the ring and said he wanted to teach you a lesson."

Once these words were spoken, everyone present had a change of expression. In fact, from the beginning, they knew that today's incident was staged. However, no one wanted to offend the powerful players behind the scene. Also, they all felt that Aria was too arrogant and needed a lesson.

But who would have thought she would resolve the matter with such violence? Seeing the prop master's twisted hand and painful expression, everyone couldn't help but shiver in fear.

The director regretted his actions when he saw what happened to the prop master. Just as he turned to run, Aria appeared in front of him like a ghost.

He was so scared that he fell to the ground, slowly moving backward while supporting himself with his hands.

"If you tell me who's behind this, maybe I'll consider letting you go."

At that moment, Aria seemed like Satan who had escaped from hell. Though her face didn't look scary, in the eyes of the director, she was more gruesome than any demon picture he could imagine, and he was sweating profusely from fear.

"I... I'll tell you, Amelia Morgan told me to frame you and teach you a lesson."

Even before Aria could do anything, he confessed everything.

It turned out that Amelia Morgan hadn't waited for David to handle Aria that day, and she was unhappy. Learning that the company had arranged for her to film the diamond ring advertisement, Amelia took the initiative to have someone secretly take the ring and frame Aria.

"Good, very good. Now call the police and tell them Amelia Morgan instructed you to falsely accuse me."

"Didn't you say that if I told the truth, you would let me go?"

"Oh? I think you must have misunderstood my words. What I clearly said was that I would consider letting you go!"

At that moment, everyone regretted offending Aria. In particular, Linda was extremely regretful for her previous words and wished she could slap herself a few times.

Seeing that her tactics had worked, Aria was very satisfied.
