Chapter 139: Causing Trouble

Although Nancy Walker feels aggrieved, she acknowledges that Amelia Morgan has played a major role in the company's improving situation.

Thinking this over, Nancy livens up. She decides to find David and apologize for her past recklessness. She also decides to bring a gift for him.

Carrying a box of pastries, Nancy imagines what she will say when she sees David. She wants to present herself well in front of him, not for her own benefit, but to leave a good impression on him.

People come and go in front of the office, and they notice Nancy standing there, just outside the door.

A buzzy, speculative murmur grows as they pass by Nancy.

Knock, knock—

"Come in."

Upon hearing the voice, Nancy enters, but she doesn't expect to feel so out of place.

David is standing, while Aria is sitting there, with David constantly bending over, talking to Aria.

Nancy couldn't take it anymore: "Why is she sitting there? Why are you bending over backwards for her?"
