"Hahahaha, you know it's bad, huh? But is it really so terrible? Isn't it just you forgetting your mommy's phone number, but still worrying about a little girl here?"
For a moment, Dylan Flack didn't know how to respond. He really felt as if the embarrassment in his heart had burned its way to his face. He wondered, did his mom hear all this? Dylan originally thought what he said didn't matter but who knew Ivy Grant was so clever – she knew everything!
"Don't talk nonsense, I know my mommy's number. I just forgot it because I was busy with your stuff. And it's your friend Sophia we're talking about, aren't all of my considerations for your sake? So, even though I had good intentions, why are you talking about me like that?"
Dylan tried to give some more excuses, but he knew it was futile. As smart as Ivy was, she had understood the meaning behind his words, and there was no room for any further excuses.
"Well, go ahead and say it now, let me listen," Ivy said.
