Mallia Mamet listened, unable to say what was wrong or right because she really had no choice. She didn't want to stay alone and she knew what she would face at the police station.
It would be nice if Benjamin Swantz's words could be taken seriously—if she really could be left undisturbed in a small room. There really wouldn't be anything wrong with going there, so Mallia nodded her head.
"Okay, I'll go with you, but you must keep your word. You have to ensure I won't be in contact with anyone. You know I'm not feeling well, so I just want to be alone. I'm also not in a good mood, and if I encounter others, even children, I might lose my temper. So, if you don't want things to get too bad, don't let me come into contact with them."
Benjamin listened to the warnings and nodded. He was just a bit puzzled—why be so particular even around children? Oh well, Benjamin didn't rush to ask as he realized time was of the essence, so he grabbed Mallia's hand and started to run.
