"You need to be sure that the effort is worth it." The old man said.
"I don't have a family. Both my parents died before I could recognize them. As for friends, I have a bunch, and I can take care of them when I am powerful enough." Jake said.
"I thought the same as you, yet regret is all I have." The old man said.
" Then you weren't powerful enough," Jake said. The old man looked at him with an amused expression.
"What is the definition of your power?" The old man said.
"The ability to do the thing I desire," Jake said.
"What level would you be satisfied with?" The old man said.
