Sophia p.o.v

Accepting an invitation from someone who likes the same guy as you is definitely a big step to take especially if you going to send a whole weekend together and now I have to deal with it.

Oh Allah let this weekend be a normal days for me.

I made a silent prayer after doing my fajr prayer and got myself ready to spend the weekend at samra's house. She sent me her home address the previous night.

I took my note books, my phone and laptop and other things I might need for the project.

I took a taxi to her home and  a man in uniform asked me who I was looking for and I told him samra's name to which he called the main house through a phone and it seemed like I was approved by my visit.

He hanged up the phone and open the gate for me to get in, I smiled at him and he showed me where to go,the taxi drove towards the villa,it was bigger house than mine but it was more beautiful with creamy white with big brown door.

Once I reached the entrance, I got out of the car and walked towards the door.

I rang the bell and an old well dressed man open the door and ushered me inside.

"Miss samra will be downstairs in a minute I'll go and call her wait for a while" he informed me before he went upstairs to call her.

I stood at the foyer as I was looking around, I looked up at the chandeliers ,it was  traditional beaded type of chandelier. I took out my phone and took a picture when suddenly it rang and the call was from my mom.

"Asalamu Aleikum dear, how are you doing and when will I expect you to be home?" She asked excitedly.

"Waaleikum salaam mom, am fine unfortunately I can't make it this weekend sorry" I said as I bite my lower lip.

"Really? I was looking forward to see you honey its almost a month since I last saw you" mom whined.

"I know that mom how about next weekend I'll try to come and see you it's  just I was assigned to a group project and I have to finish it by tomorrow again sorry for not telling you earlier mom" I said apologizing.

"No need to feel sorry, I guess am not still used to you being far and not spending time with you " she said.

"Its just this weekend mom and I'll be with you next time I promise kisses " I said as I saw samra on the stairs looking at me from the phone as I was video chatting with my mom.

"Kisses love say hi for me to your friends " she said as she blew me a kiss before she ended the call.

I put my phone on my jeans pocket and turned around to look at samra who didn't move from her spot.

"I guess that's your mom" she said as she came down.

"Yeah it was,I somehow forgot to inform her that I wasn't going to see her this weekend " I said as I followed her to the living room.

"Do you always go home all weekend, you're lucky to have a mom to spend time with " she said in low voice.

"Yeah I used to ever since I started university you know its always been us alone so I visit her to give her company I guess this weekend will be different " I said feeling kinda bad.

"If you want you can go and we will finish it tomorrow " samra said encouraging me.

"It's fine, it's just this weekend and she's ok with me doing my project am sure we will make it up for next weekend" I said not wanting to miss anything about the project.

"Are you sure? You know I can send you the details I just don't want you to feel bad for not spending time with your family " she kept insisting.

"Its ok samra,its just a weekend and besides she is always understanding and besides this project is important to me and I can't lose to fail because of not spending time with my mom ok?" I said hopping that she wouldn't keep on insisting that I leave.

"Fine then I was just looking out for you like you said it. I thought it was some kind of traditional way so I didn't want you to feel bad about it " she said as a maid came to offer us some drinks.

We were quite for a while until the bell rang and the butler went to open the door, I heard footsteps coming in and I turn to see Martha, a guy and Brian.

"Hey girl, you didn't tell me you live in a palace, this place is a-mazing " she screamed and hugged her.

" I know right am glad you came and who is this?" Samra asked as she pointed to the guy she came with.

"Oh!my bad this is Martin my boyfriend and he's also the same team with Brian right?" She asked looking at him.

"Nice to meet you Martin" samra said as she shook his hand.

"And this is Sophia " samra introduced me to the guy and and I waved at him when he gave me his hand to shake.

"O..kkk so am starving is there any food?" Martha asked samra as she whined like a baby.

"Of course, let me ask the maid to make us breakfast while you guys make yourselves at home" samra said as she left us in the living room.

I took my bag and sat on the sofa and opened my laptop and started working on the project while Martha sat with her boyfriend and brian sat on the other side of the room.

The room was big enough for more people to sit, as I was typing on my laptop and the room was silent suddenly Martha spoke.

"Seriously guys,feels like we are in a graveyard can someone please play some music or something " she said as she stood in the middle of the room.

"Music? Seriously martha we are here to do work ,the project?did you forget why we are even here?" I asked her.

"I know that no need to remind me and for your information we have two days, two days till due date can't we just relax and have fun for today?" She asked as she looked at the rest.

"This project needs a team work if we  lose even a minute by relaxing we might not finish it on time, so let's finish it then have fun later" I suggested but the look on her face made me feel uncomfortable.

"For once you need to keep the "nerd" behaviour a side,nothing bad will happen so I say let the party start "she yelled on top of her voice and her boyfriend cheered her and soon I heard the door bell rang.

Samra came in and gave us a confused look and I pointed at Martha.

"Did you just invite people to my house without telling me?" She asked Martha.

"Chillax baby, the atmosphere needs relaxation and I think hosting a party will light up the mood" martha said as she turned on the music.

"Are you being for real right now Martha? I didn't give you permission to call people unannounced how am I suppose to make them leave now?" Samra asked as she picked through the window.

"Sorry I just thought it will make us enjoy the weekend and do the project later,besides e have a genius in the team am sure Sophia will do it for us since she doesn't like to party " martha said pointing at me.

Samra looked at me with a look that was hoping that I would agree to do the work while they party.

"On the other hand I should have left when she told me to" I said to myself as I left the room and Martha opened the door for the others to come in.

Hopefully I don't get them and myself to fail this project....
