chapter 45:Friends?!

Ever thought of trying to be cool and carefree person until one day someone's appearance at first they are quite friendly and soon you realise that they are not what they seem to be.

The person am talking about is none other than Sophie, she was a friendly person until one day she came back from school and found empty bottles of alcohol and a guy sleeping next to me.

She ended up switching on me to the Dean even though I was the one who broke the rules but she didn't have to tell on me.

Since that day, she asked for a room switched and samra became my roommate and I couldn't be more happier now that we have started a new semester she happens to be getting closer to samra and its making me feel uneasy.

Though samra and I have been friends since middle school she and I enjoy our time together and have all kinds of fun but since Sophia started talking to samra it seems like she's trying to get closer to her every time.

We also have a new student who joined our school this year, though he has no rich family background, he's kinda cute and now samra is taking interest in him.

I still don't get why she's interested in him when she has group of boys who try to get closer to her.

It's been a week and a lot happened Brian missed school after his mom was hospitalised and samra has been missing her class daily as well just to get closer to Brian.

I have been trying to get myself busy by either doing cheerleader practices and parting all the time.

I also have a boyfriend but I broke up with him when he got into an accident not that I wanted but his mom forced me. Sometimes I would sneak in to visit him when no one is around.

To my surprise I once saw my ex talking to Brian,samra and Sophie. I was glad to see him again this time he had a major glow up.

We met one summer and I liked him a lot but our relationship didn't work in distance so I try my best not to think about it now he's back ill have to play my cards right.

He seems interested in Sophie though,once after finishing our project he tried to talk to her in class but she seemed uninterested. He even followed her but still she ignored him.

I took the opportunity to approach him and asked him to go out he reluctantly accepted it.

As we had dinner that night, I couldn't help but to be interest to know why he's trying hard to persuade someone who is not into him.

"You seem to be interested in Sophie lately,I have noticed that she doesn't seem to be into you like any other girls in the school"

"I have noticed that and that makes me want to know her even more"

"Why are you so into her?"

"She's a dork and has no life except her books she barely have any friends?"

"I know and I don't think I'll stop persuading her until she accepts me"

"You weren't like that when we first met and I don't think she'll be into you like you're hoping "

"Why is that?do you know her that well?"

"I know her enough to tell you to not pull your hopes up OK?"

"I don't think it won't work besides what makes you so sure that I won't get what I want?"

"Because girls like her don't fall someone like you and we both know who you really are"

"I think you seem to forget that I have changed and am not the person you think I am anymore "

"Come on alvaro,we know that you don't always chase girls like her and besides we have history, don't you think we could start over after what happened "

I looked up at him, hoping that he might have the same feelings like I did but to my surprise he shook his head and stared at me for a while.

"Sorry Martha, it's true that I had feelings for you before but now I have changed for the better this is the reason I came here for a new start "

"So you didn't come for me then why did you agree to come here for dinner?"

"I came here so that I could be clear and honest with you once and for all"

I couldn't believe my ears,here I am thinking that we would have a chance to get closer but he seemed like he's no longer the guy I knew.

He had a major glow up, we dated for months but due to our long distance relationship,it couldn't work out.

I really missed him so much and seeing him again made me feel like I could get another chance for us but I am deeply disappointed with how things have changed.

Now that he's here,not only is he an early graduate but he also an intern at the hospital where Brian's mom was hospitalised.

I don't think am ready to let him go even though he made it clear to me but am so into him that it hurts.

After dinner, we rode on his bike and he took me back to the dorm, he was about to drive away so I held his hand.

"If we can't be together, can we be at least friends?"

"Sure, I would like that"

We exchanged contacts and he drove away, I don't know how long I was standing there until the security asked me to get in.

I walked slowly to the dorm as I thought about our days and how much I was enjoying myself when we were together.

I walked inside the room, took off my shoes and put my keys and phone on the table, I couldn't believe that I blew up my chance to be with him.

Now that he's fine with us being friends, I won't miss a chance to be close to him once again.

I wore my pajamas and took my phone from the table to text samra.

She didn't text me back so I called her, as she picked up my call,I couldn't help but to cry.

Even though I always show a brave face to everyone I know I couldn't pretend in front of her.

I told her that I wanted to talk and she said she will be back soon. Samra is my best friend and I know she would be the only one who would be there for me.

It took like ten minutes before I heard her knocking on the door.

"Martha,Martha, are you in there?"

I got up from the bed and opened the door, as soon as I saw her I wrapped my arms around her neck and cried.

"Sshshh it's ok" she wrapped her hand on my back.

We got in and locked the door, she sat me down and brought me a bottle of water.

"What happened to you?"

"He doesn't want me back samra,what do I do?"

"Who?

"Alvaro, he doesn't want me back, I thought him coming here would bring us together bit I guess I was wrong "

"Sorry Martha,did he tell you why"

"You'll be surprised when I tell you who he has his eyes on of all girls that try to get his attention "

"Really?anyone you know?"

"Can you believe it of all girls he has his eyes on Sophia "

"Am sorry what? Sophia? You're joking right?"

"I wish I was but no am not, I saw it with my own eyes, he's trying hard to get her but she doesn't seem to be interested "

"I don't believe you Martha,seriously?"

"If you don't believe me then ask Sophia yourself "

Now that I know she doesn't like him I'll have to find a way to get closer to him.

I looked samra who still looked surprised by the revelation and walked to the kitchen.

I know for sure that I'll make him mine again no matter what happens now that we are friends I might take this to my advantage.

Samra still frozen I know she wants Sophie and me to be friends, thinking about it maybe this could be my chance to be interested to see what happens next....
