"I have money as well. Name your price. I want your mother for a night."
The bald man was awestruck. This was not a response that anyone could expect.
'His comeback was pretty good.' thought most of the people who were in the restaurant. They looked at the speechless man that just stood there with his jaw hanging.
The onlookers kept their eyes on this rare event as it wasn't over yet but since they came here to eat, they were still putting dishes into their mouths. When eating, it is meaningful to have some sort of entertainment.
"How dare you mock my mother! Do you know who I am?!" asks the bald man, clearly infuriated by the other party's words.
"Such a cliche...tsk, tsk. I can't even have a pleasant lunch with my secretary." The man stopped smiling for the first time as his expression turned serious. "I don't care who you are. No, piss off before you do something regretful."
Cliche after cliche. The conversation between the two was seriously something out of a novel but no care. A little speck of entertainment in their boring lives was welcomed.
"That it. GO TO HELL!" The muscles of the bald guy tensed up to a discernable degree as became those bodybuilders with grossly large muscles.
Usually, having a good amount of muscles made one figure more attractive but when you had too much, you looked then but a disgusting monster. Especially if wasn't proportional.
This man's muscles were 5 times as big on his upper body than his legs. The girls almost puked when they saw this while the men frowned in displeasure.
Daly and Natsumi, the most sheltered girls of the group looked away from what was happening. They felt tense as they imagined what the oversized behemoth of a man was going to do to the suited man.
Karina and Cynthia also looked displeased but still watched with interest as they could tell that the man was not simple.
He hadn't even flinched. He looked as calm as he was before and showed a rather disappointed expression. The bald man's fist then glowed in a gray light for a split second before it appeared to become covered in fragments of jagged rock.
He was getting angrier by the second as more veins bulged over his face and arms, he then took a step and swung his fists at the handsome face of his target.
The man in the suit just gave a glance at his assistant, winked, and then pushed forward his palm to block the aggressor's attack. His palm was glowing in a light blue shade and did not look intimidating compared to the monstrous figure of his opponent.
But before the cliche of the hero showing off in front of his beauty could take place, a golden fist blocked the bald guy's attack.
CRUNCH!
The rocks all shattered and the man's fist became grotesquely bent. Lilly had taken the initiative to power herself up and take the man out before he could do any harm.
She had smashed every single bone in the man's arm and kicked him in the stomach. The man clutched it with his unbroken left arm while he screamed in pain.
"GUUUUYYAAAA!!" he shrieked in pain as his decent face become more contorted with an ugly expression. He was forced to kneel as snot and tears were dropping from his face.
"Damn. Your screams are not pleasant at all." Lilly said as she covered her ears. She preferred it if her opponent just took her beatings quietly. "Shut up!"
She took her leg and swung it upward in a way that it hits the man straight under his jaw. He fell on his back as a result. His eyes rolled backward, he had fainted.
'What is this? The cliche has been interrupted.' exclaimed Cynthia as she felt betrayed by the world. She had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the settings of a novel in real life.
Her expectations had been subverted by Lilly. She had cockblocked the man in the suit. Cynthia knows that she didn't do this on purpose as Lilly is someone who can't tolerate abuse of power.
She was raised to be like that by a female master who taught her to always top unjust actions if it was in her power. If she felt that she couldn't handle an issue, she could also ignore it.
Cynthia had met this master once in the future and it left a heavy impression.
'That master, she is simply terrifying at unbelievably kind.'
The man in the suit looked at his astonished secretary, then at the assailant, and finally fixed his gaze at Lilly. After a couple of seconds of staring at her with a questionable gaze, he just smiled, adjusted his suit, and got up from his seat.
He had finished his food so he also wiped his hands and mouth with a handkerchief.
"It has been quite a long time since I've seen you. You have grown." said the man towards Lilly. He recognized her.
"Uncle Vinny!" Lilly deactivated her ability as her body lost its golden luster. She jumped and hugged the man she called uncle.
He accepted her hug and made an expression of endearment and satisfaction.
"What are you doing here?" The hug was quick and they parted as Uncle Vinny asked.
"What do you mean? It was you who introduced me to this place uncle," she replied.
"Hahahaha. You're right. I'm getting quite forgetful. Damn the brains of old people." he said in a joking manner.
There was no way this guy was old, he looked to be in his late 20's at most.
"If you're old, then what am I? A middle-aged lady." Lilly crossed her arms and then made a "Hmph" noise.
"It's your fault for calling me uncle when I'm only 21.The same as Antoine."
"Haah! You're my mother's younger brother, what else am I supposed to call you."
Lilly's answer to his question left him stumped. What was he thinking? He, Vincent Moretti had asked his niece why she called him uncle.
It was only natural that she did this but he felt embarrassed when he looked at his secretary. No young man wants to be called an uncle in front of his crush.
Vincent started to blush and decided to switch the topic. It was shameless but he really needed to get out of here.
"Let's talk about this another time. Let me drag this guy out of here first. He will have to pay for ruining my date. Let's go Mina." he said. He called over his beautiful secretary and then was about to drag the unconscious guy out of the restaurant but was stopped.
"Wait!" yelled Lily as she stood in front of the restaurant doors. Vincent was very fast and was just about to exit the place.
"Don't you want to meet your newest niece?" she asked while signaling towards Cynthia to get up.
Cynthia did as she asked and got up from her seat and walked towards the two.
"Another niece?" questioned Vincent. He turned around and saw the girl that had approached him.
Silky black hair that fell to her waist, a face that could rival the most popular of idols, crimson eyes that contained a deep sense of mystery. Eyes that make you feel that what you are facing is the tallest and most dangerous of snowcapped mountains.
He knew exactly who she is. the illegitimate child of his brother-in-law, Cynthia Duketh. Vincent frowned when seeing her as she is the biggest proof of that man's infidelity.
His older sister, Alison, had to go through a seriously tough time when she first learned of the tryst but she eventually forgave Alexander.
Vicent felt a fire of rage start to well up within him but he held back. Even though he felt only negative feelings for Cynthia, he knew it wasn't the time to show it. His sister had explicitly told him not to do anything drastic and he would adhere, for now.
"Good afternoon." Cynthia gave a normal greeting but would not call him uncle. She may be his niece in a roundabout way but the right to call him uncle can only come from him.
She knows that this man harbored only ill intentions for her so she would attempt to remedy her image in front of him.
"You too. Have a good day." He then brushed past Lilly, still carrying the unconscious man, and walked away with his secretary. he probably had a car parked somewhere nearby.
Lilly made a sour expression but quickly shook her head and returned to her usual bright smile. She had expected this from her uncle and knew that only time could change things.
"I'm sorry." she apologized to Cynthia in her uncle's stead even though she didn't have to.
"It's okay. Let's go eat, everyone is waiting." They hurried back to their seats and ordered large servings of meat that they would barbeque themselves.
The group spent half an hour, eating and talking. Learning more about each other and what they were going to do on the weekend or other days after school.
4:00 PM
Cynthia just laid in bed while looking at the system that was floating in the sky, She had spent a considerable amount of time with her newly made friends and had finally been able to rest at home.
[Are you ready for your daily spin?] The system was ready to randomly give her a new person to trade with. It was already overdue but she was outside when the timer reset.
"No. I have a question for you first. Was I being paired with the Red Star Potato Lord all luck?" Cynthia had deliberated about this idea in the back of her mind.
She had been abnormally lucky over the past day and had made significant gains. She had unlocked her superpower earlier, been able to strengthen it, see Oswin get absolutely humiliated, and gain stable monetary support from Duketh family.
She even had become immensely valuable in their eyes, had a secret stash of valuable diamonds and no one questioned her strange power. (Then again, there are stranger abilities in this world than turning potatoes into mana crystals.)
[Your concerns are valid. The system has purposely paired you with someone from who you can gain tremendous value. The reason for this lies in the way the system has awakened.]
"Isn't that because of how I traveled back in time after my death?"
[That is half the reason. You are not the only Anomaly on this planet. Your half-sister, Lilliana Duketh is one as well.]
"What? What's wrong with Lilly?" Cynthia was startled. There was an existence that counted as an anomaly right next to her. Also, in a single day, she had already become accustomed to the nickname of Lilly.
[She is not currently in any danger but she does put the host in a troublesome position. This is because Lilliana Duketh is a "HEROINE" supported by fate and the will of this planet.]
(Authors Note: Why do you guys think her being a heroine put's Cynthia in danger?)
