Fighting The Monkeys (2)

Cynthia was floating in the air as hair had lifted itself up as well. She was surrounded by a dozen ice spikes that floated around her in a circle fashion.

People found this view to be somewhat mesmerizing. They had often seen videos of superpower demonstrations but they were only categorized as 'cool'. This however was considered 'beautiful.'

The apes started to show different expressions as their mammoth-like tusks shook and they tried to force their way out of the ice by shaking their legs. How could it be that easy?

before they could put in substantial efforts to get out, the threatening blood red spikes he controlled manifested themselves and flung towards the group of apes closest to the exit.

The apes were lost at what action they should perform as the needles were good enough to pierce them, unlike the ice spikes that were blunter. Most of the needles headed for weak spots on their face such as the forehead, mouth, or eyes.

The others were aimed at the knees. They had to make a choice of protecting their head or their mobility.

Seeing how their vitals were being targeted, they choose to protect this by once again repeating the action of shielding their face with their arms.

In return, they gained a fair amount of damage in the arms they used and some of the needles had even redirected last second to pierce them in the elbows. The rest of the bloody needles were stuck in their knees.

The next thing they knew, the ice had rapidly melted away. They instantly scoffed in their heads as they could now proceed onwards to slaughter an inferior form of monkeys.

"ROAAAAAAAR!!!" screamed the apes that were attacked by the blood needles. The ice that had numbed the nerves in their bodies was gone.

This caused the hidden effect of the needles to play on. As Ryan had said, the needles were not really used for killing when it came to larger and stronger monsters. To make up for that, his needles could multiply the pain one felt in the affected areas.

The apes that already had their mobility affected fell to their knees and held on to their knees. this was also hard for them as there was also agony in their elbows. When living beings feel pain somewhere in their body, they are subconsciously forced to minimize movement in these places.

The same was for these apes that were howling in pain and glared at the perpetrators with fierce gazes while there were small drops of tears slowly accumulating in their eyes.

The rest of the apes that were unarmed advanced towards the group but once again had to defend themselves from the onslaught of ice spikes. There were fewer this time as the apes that were immobilized weren't targeted.

Regardless of this, they had once again felt their legs freeze and didn't know how they should fight this foe of theirs. It was the choice between being slowed for some time or charging through while sustaining serious damage.

They obviously choose the first choice as they believed that the humans couldn't hold on for too long. Once the ice melted again, they would be two steps away from being able to crush the initial group of people.

Ryan released his blood needles in even larger numbers than before but this time the apes were prepared.

They immediately ducked forward while holding their heads. they curled u into an almost fetal position as the needles could only enter their backs. They were okay with this as their backs were somewhat tougher than their frontal body.

It was harder to pierce and they somehow had the idea that their nerves weren't as sensitive or numerous in that region.

Cynthia and Ryan immediately frowned as they realized these apes were really smart, probably as smart as humans when it came to making combat decisions.

the ice was already melting away and the faces of Ryan and Cynthia were drained of energy as they looked pale and breathing heavily. They were at the very bottom of their man reserves and could only perform minor diffuculty=ies for the group of apes that were ready to assault them.

They trained their eyes on Karina, the only other person with superpowers here. She hoped that her power was able to pull them through this difficulty as the government's agents or their bodyguards are in no way incompetent.

Whatever was holding them back wouldn't be able to do so for long or cities would stand no chance in case of sudden dungeon breaks (events where the monsters from GATES break into their world) if the Extractors weren't versatile and good at adapting to situations.

As soon as the ice fell, the duo that was still holding on sent out their final attacks that left their man reserves as dry as a sandy desert.

As soon as the apes were frozen, an ominous sound rang in the ears of everyone present.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!

The sound was like a high-pitched steam train engine that was deafening to hear. Everyone present covered their ears in response, even Cynthia and Ryan.

Covering their ears didn't help at all as the whole world seemed to have been deprived of sound, with the sound coming from Karina being the only one in existence.

She stood there with her palms facing the group of apes that hadn't taken much damage and were almost free of their ice prison.

In the air in front of her palms appeared a small ball of dark blue light that was deeper than the color of the ocean at night. It seemed to give off an indiscernible pressure as it hastily expanded in size. From the size of a pea, it went to the size of a healthy, adult cow.

Karina had the look of a valiant general on her face as she said "Take this you ugly, overgrown monkeys!"

The blue ball was released forward and cut through the air with a sharp noise, almost like a missile or jet. It struck the apes with force and gave off a blinding amount of blue light that surged everywhere like electricity.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

BANG! BANG! BANG!

There were small explosions that could be heard after the initial impact. This would cause many to fear and revere the young woman who had unleashed this torrential power on the apes.

The apes had either became mutilated pieces of flesh and blood or ashes that sat there silently.

Unfortunately, some of the apes were able to serve this godlike power and had only lost an arm or a leg. They had also lost all rationality when they saw such a colossus of power. they were ready to get back up and attack.

they could see that the three human brats had nothing else to throw at them as they had collapsed and sat on the ground, panting for air and trying their best this stay awake. They had overexerted themselves and their bodies would not allow any more abuse for today.

The apes that were once in pain from the first concentrated barrage of Ryan's needles had gotten over it. The extra pain was not real and they had enough willpower to fight through the rest.

And unlike them, the humans had none left who could fight them. The menacing creatures that had made the humans lose hope over and over again rose once again.

The people who had recently been able to gain slivers of hope from the abilities of some young heroes.

"Ah, we are done for," said Ryan as he had nothing left. Even though he had a plethora of items that could take Cynthia, Karina, and far from her without any issues. He also had items that could protect them from the ape's assault for a good duration.

Due to the interference of whatever made him unable to use his teleportation ability, the items in his pockets were also nonresponsive.

The same went for the other resourceful youths who had been supplied by their family. They could only wait for whatever miracle that might arrive o just die here while being satisfied with the fact they had given their best.

This may not be a regretless and honorless death but they had tried all they could, unfortunately, it may not have been enough.

The apes had already charged into the crowd and had swung their gigantic fist towards the huddles of people and either smashed on the spot or sent them flying. Thye was either dead or holding onto their last breath with tenacity.

The three youths were in the middle so they would be the last group to be reached by the slaughter. They actually couldn't stay awake to see the others or their own deaths as the lack of mana caused them to close their eyes in reluctance.

[ Novel Title: The Princess of Gold's Lousy Harem

Excerpt from Chapter 8 - The Mouse Trap

"Second young miss can rest assured. The first young miss has been reused and is relatively unharmed. She is currently on her way to the family's hospital." ]

'Ah, that's right. The world just choose me as villainous, it can't just kill me off right now.' she thought before taking a long-deserved nap.

....

Lilly stood over the sacks of blue fur, stinky blood, and mutilated flesh. She was drenched in blood as it dripped all over her body,

Her fist that glowed golden had started to fade had also been tainted with this blood wasn't hers.

It belonged to the foolish apes that ah been manipulated to oppose a certain someone who was in her vicinity. She had no clue of this and only thought of it as an abnormal dungeon break as her items were not working.

Her gaze naturally turned in the direction of where one of her best friends and her recently reconciled sister had headed for lunch.

If Cynthia were to see her younger sister's face at this time, she would find it unrecognizable. It was just as cold as hers but had an even deeper feeling of emptiness and emotionlessness.

The expression was blank as her eyes conveyed infinite anger towards whoever was responsible for today's happenings.

Before she could sprint towards where her beloved ones were, three bodyguards in suits appeared from the shadows. They kneeled in front of Lillya and one of them spoke in a serious tone.

"Second young miss can rest assured. The first young miss has been reused and is relatively unharmed. She is currently on her way to the family's hospital."

The female guard then await a response from the master she served. They would do as she orders and would not turn away if she decided to punish them for being late.

The corners contorted up and her eyes relaxed. Her mana was retrained and her aura return to that of a warm angel. She seemed genuinely glad that her sister was safe.

"Let's go see her right now. Natsumi, Daly, you two can get back with your one escorts, right?" she said.

The girls behind her had not a single drop of blood and seemed out of place when compared to their crimson surroundings. They had a strange expression that was full of questions but was in no place to have them answered.

Anyways, they need to go home and catch a break with their parents as they just had the scare of their lives. They could only be thankful for this young girl like them who has power beyond what they'd imagined.

Those three girls return to their respectful homes while Lilliana went over to Duketh Central Hospital.

There she met with her father and oldest brother who were standing outside a VIP room. As usual, their father had had a cold expression as his tsundere level was 100. Antoine however showed his worried expression without hesitation as he tapped his feet in anticipation.

the doctor was performing the final checks on Cynthia as all the initial tests had already been finished.
