Chapter One

It was cold and wet. Cynthia opened her eyes, find herself drowning in a shallow river. Half of her body was soaked with the clean water, as half of her back was still dry, yet uncomfortably cold. Shivers over the coldness she had forcefully experienced, Cynthia slowly regain her consciousness and pull herself up. Slowly, her arm regains some energy while in her blurry state.

She didn't even remember how did she end up in here. A foreign land yet to discover. Cynthia had the thought of she might have been falling in some random place near Lumine City. Her mind was distracted while looking randomly over the stranded land that was filled with lawn grass. While at the end of the scenery within her vision, it was tall bushes, filled with multiple large trees, covered the area in a large diameter of the circle.

Quite not familiar with the place she sitting in right now, as she didn't recall any scenery within Lumine City having this kind of peace, solid nature, and as well as clean air to breathe in. The world after the reset was filled with toxic. But thanks to RuZen who turned everyone to possess divinity, those air wasn't an obstacle for them to live a daily norm life. Although Cynthia possessed a much higher state than anyone in Lumine City, she still felt sick over the polluted air that harm her lungs as the day pass.

Without having much thought in her mind. Cynthia begins to pull herself up. Bathed with clean water, soaking almost all of her school uniform, Cynthia found herself in a little bit of excruciating situation. Activate her basic spell channeling, attempt to dry herself up, however just to find herself in a state of stupefying.

It didn't work, no matter how many times Cynthia tried the same spell, chanting it over and over again, she still can't feel or spot a glimpse of dried-up feeling over the wet uniform she's wearing right now. Something not right, she straight away guessed herself that she'd fall into an unknown place, except for another realm was the word that never traverse in her mind.

"What's going on?! Where is my power?!" Cynthia strikes herself into a panicking mode, knowing she lost her power, that is what she feared the most when she had zero ideas on which land she'd set her foot on.

Not long before she had converse herself in a self replied situation. Another danger might be pulled right behind her. A straight, fast, and small-looking alike bullet shoots in a direction toward her back. Although she might not be able to sense it, her self-instinct still enable her body to adjust quickly and reflexed her body.

A first attempt drawn by the unknown attacker, missed as Cynthia landed her body right into the water, which completely soaked her cloth in it. Groaning a little pain over her back while hitting on the hard rock underneath the stream of the river. Cynthia sight another danger strikes in before she could fully prepare herself for whatever things that are trying to torment her.

Sitting duck in the same place while waiting for another sneak attack, wasn't an option for her at the moment. She quickly found herself the strength to crawl away from the river, run past the stranded land filled with grass, hoping the second attempt drawn by the assassin who targeted her will miss its second shot.

A rush of wind came straight right to her back. This time she won't be so instinctive to avoid the path of the unknown object that pierce through her left shoulder, causing her to pause for a moment before the pain strikes in.

It was an immeasurable pain, like a shoot from a bullet, Cynthia had to thud her knee, bending over the pain while pressing the cut or wound. Biting her teeth, firmly. She can't speak nor shout her voice to reveal her location in this night, which the vision only can be seen by the aid of starlight.

Shiver and sweating while still in her soaked condition, Cynthia had to make a run for it before the third attempt rushed in. She put her bet unknowingly the attacker might sight her location precisely. Pressing hard on the wound, she lift her body forcefully and run toward the wood which was just a few steps away. Once she entered the outback of the jungle, the attacker might reduce the chances to get a clean shot toward her confusing state.

There wasn't any mercy shown by the one who want her life. Although the gap between the first shot and second shot leaves her a fair time of escaping, the third strike rushes its way before she can prepare for the worst to come. A dodging bullet was an easy feat to her if she still had her power intact, but as the moment we'd reckon, Cynthia didn't stand any chance to dodge the bullet which she can see where it coming.

Slip right through her left face, slice offcut of a small wound. Stunned in the process, she standstill, as she knew that was a warning shot rather than a killing shot. She didn't even dare to turn her head around. While she was being comprehended by a pack of hunters of the night.

"Why did you miss the shot purposely?! I was damn positive it was her!"

"No. Something strange here. She doesn't even fight back, yet she keeps running. I don't want any innocent lives to fall in this land anymore, Javoc."

Cynthia heard the voice of a pair of a couple. A man and a woman, arguing over mistakenly took her as a threat, or maybe someone who posed a threat. Slowly she turn her head around, just to get blocked by the bright light that beet into her eyes. Without a doubt, Cynthia believes she is still in the land of Lumine City. It was a magic trick that blocked her vision, an attempt to block her sight from being recognized by the hunters that hunt her out of nowhere.

"Who are you?" a voice of a woman asked, she came near to Cynthia who she believe won't stand a chance to fight back against them.

"I told you! It was her! The Pricky Princess of Demonic," a man argued, he didn't even fancy verifying once he saw her face who looks exactly to someone they've been scared and hate.

"Speak before your last chance vanished into the thin air. I'll assume you is her, unknowingly we'd set a trap here for what you'd did to us back in a month ago."

"Princess of Demonic… does that girl name…Nanami?" Cynthia spoke her word for the first time, although they look identical, the women who stand the nearest to her recognize it straight away for hoarse voices and the angelic voice that Cynthia had spoken earlier.

Right before Cynthia could ask further, or the people who hunt her keep their pace toward the next question, Cynthia already falls into the muddy grass, unconscious. The pain she had to bear was way more painful than anything she had in her life. Straight into her coma, the last scene Cynthia could see was the woman rushing her way beside her, and carry her back, keep asking for her name, and telling her to remain conscious.
