Chapter 159 - Resolves & Motives

Kohana went with full speed, carrying Drey by the shoulder along with him back to the wastelands. 

From the ground, both of them looked like little reindeer in the sky without Santa's carriage. It was a full moon that night, and the howling of wolves could be heard from far above the horizon. 

Still fearing they were being chased, Kohana briefly looked back and was surprised to see that Magus wasn't as hot on their tail as expected. 

This was surprising but wasn't calming in the slightest for the former senator. Normally, this would be enough to calm a person down, as it was a clear indication that the Emperor was no longer after them—at least for the time being—but on the contrary, it worsened the fear in Kohana.

After all, this was the Emperor they were dealing with—a man who was feared in all areas of the Nihonian Continent.
